Thank you all for an awesome first Submission Sunday! It all feels so organized, and I certainly had a great time exploring your Egg Eater ideas. :D 

Now, we return to out regularly scheduled art and lore, and perhaps a break for lunch. 

Would eating an unfertilized egg have the same effect as eating a ‘live’ one or does it need to be a ‘live’ dragon egg to work

The short answer is no, it would not. Unfertilized eggs are just all the biological goop, yolk, and shell, and nothing growing inside. It's nowhere near as magical as it could be, since there's no actual pre-hatchling-metamorphosis shenanigans going on inside.

Of course I pay attention to my own characters pffft, what? This idea? oh yeah. Definitely worth consideration.

PART 1 (CREATIVE ADVICE)

Ah, so you're thinking of making one? It's always a great day when someone begins their journey into the world of comics and characters! Remember, this is just how I've learned to do things, and by NO MEANS are they necessary to make a good blog/series. I'll begin with a post on creative aspects, then another with the technical aspects.

First Things First

The best advice I can give you is to just leap in and create your page. Getting this first step over and done with is the best thing you can do to kickstart everything else. Now for the brain-stormy advice...

Begin by Considering YOU

Below are some questions that will help you pin down who 'you' are. You probably have a solid idea of that already, right? But your audience doesn't. These will help you articulate your own 'flavor', so you can best present it to your viewers. You DEFINITELY DO NOT have to answer these before you begin posting/creating, they are just a very loose guide to keep in the back of your head.

-Think about what you want your audience to feel when they see your characters.

[Example: I want fascination, disgust, sympathy, and judgement]

-What specific feeling(or flavor) do you want them to experience when they think about your blog?

[Example: Think of two prominent FR blogs. Compare their immediate 'flavors'. What is it that makes them different? What will define you?]

-What do you want your story to say thematically, and what ideas are present in your clan of characters?

[Example: Unhealthy mindsets, Unhealthy relationships, and unhealthy coping mechanisms, are the core idea behind my Egg Eaters. It keeps me on track when deciding who they are and what their stories entail.]

-Are your rules flexible, or rigid? It's your blog, so you choose how you run it!

[Example: I post when I want. My characters are not set in stone. My themes can change if I find better ones. Ect.]

Don't be Afraid of Evolving your Art

Maybe you want to change something, but feel afraid your audience won't approve of it. Maybe you have some "unsavory" characters and are scared people won't like it. Perhaps you've gotten attached to an art style and feel stagnant, but fear that changing it may upset someone... Don't let this fear control you. Art is about exploring ideas creatively, not about making people happy. Not to mention...It's YOUR blog! Do what inspires you, and others will see your passion!
