Remus has heard these words before. He knows them to be true. But during the transformation it’s impossible for them to feel real.

Remus woke up, his body aching, fresh wounds littering his body. A particularly nasty and deep gash ran down his left arm.

Sirius smiled softly at him from a chair, young and beautiful, completely unharmed. His long black hair smooth and framing his face. “Easy, Rem. You didn’t get much sleep last night.”

Despite the warning, Remus attempted to sit up. Sirius was right by his side, helping him sit up, propping him up with pillows. Remus groaned as he leaned back against the pillows, Sirius gently cupping his face. “Just relax, Rem. I’m right here.”

Remus turned his head and pushed Sirius away.

Sirius frowned. “Remus?”

Remus just shook his head, pausing before looking at his friend, his lover, his everything. “Why do you do this, Siri? I- I’m a monster…”

Sirius’ frown deepened. “Don’t say that, Remus, don’t…” he trailed off.

Tears welled in Remus’ eyes. “You know it’s true. You- you’ve seen me at my worst, like this, and I… I don’t know how you can see me as anything other than the beast. I do. I see the monster.”

Sirius just shook his head, taking Remus’ hand into his, squeezing tightly when Remus tried to pull away. His voice was soft and sweet when he spoke. “You know the man you truly are, Remus.” Sirius squeezed Remus’ hand again, reaching out and resting his other hand on his heart. “This heart is where you truly live. This heart, here, beating right beneath my fingertips. I know it’s hard for you to see sometimes, but not me. I see it always. So does James. So does Peter. We all see it. We all see you.”

Tears threatened to fall from Remus’ eyes. The only thing he could think to do was pull Sirius close, clinging to him for dear life. Sirius just leaned into his touch, making it as easy as possible for Remus to hold him without hurting himself. He rubbed soothing circles into Remus’ back, whispering into his ear. “I’m right here, I’m right with you. We’re okay. You’re okay.”

Every full moon after, Sirius whispered those words to Remus, whether he heard them or not.

am i the only one who thought when Percy said "Let's make a pact . Right now. No matter what happens, we meet back here next year. All of us. Right here." he wasn't just talking about the three of them as cast members and characters, but to us as audience members? as fans? idk i might be a lil bit crazy and love this a lil bit too much but like!!! they're already starting production plans for s2 even though it hasn't been confirmed yet!!!! just my thoughts on one part of this episode, but the whole thing was so good!!! i love the way they ended things, and the changes that they've made from the book. personally, i think that an adaptation should be an expansion of the book, not an exact replica.
