could i have some angsty/comfort-ish headcanons about a gn reader who doesn’t feel like they deserve praise or affection, and tfp ratchet, knockout + breakdown (poly, if that’s okay), and starscream comforting them?

hii thanks for the request. this might be OOC and a little...idk, I'm not that good with emotions so I generally went with some things that might fit them, hopefully

TFP Ratchet

He's not a bot that's usually too affectionate, so when you express the way you're feeling he may think it's because of him. Very much in disbelief though, how can you feel unworthy of something you very much deserve?

Either way, he understands you need support when you have those moments of self-doubt

Really encourages you to talk about it if you want to, despite his gruff attitude on the exterior, with you, he patiently listens and tries to help you see your strengths and accomplishments

I mean come on, you're unlike anyone he's ever met and his favorite human + his significant other!!

Will pause anything he was doing to spend more time with you and give you the support you need. Preferably holding you near his chest, close to his spark or near his face. Generally lets you just curl up next to him

His reassuring isn't super lovey dovey but it's genuine

TFP Knockout + Breakdown

You get showered in compliments as soon as you're feeling down

Knockout is more direct and might scoff, don't be silly darling?? You're wonderful and both Breakdown and I love you,,

Breakdown agrees and gently picks you up to emphasize their point. He says you're stuck with the both of them and he wouldn't have it any other way

I feel like both of their love languages are pretty much physical affection, whether it's smothering you in robot hugs or simply vibing with you on their shoulder. To hear that you think you don't deserve it, they're in disbelief

Knockout is the busier one, constantly repairing bots in the medbay and such. Breakdown gets sent on missions too, however, they both make time out of their day to spend it with you. Not that they didn't, but they pay extra attention to their actions and make sure you're happy and secure. Insists that they'll do this for you ANYTIME!!

if someone on the Nemesis is making you feel this way, Knockout will make sure they don't wake up from their next appointment will keep you a safe distance away from them with the help of Breakdown

TFP Starscream

Not the most empathetic but he definitely gets how you feel. He probably feels the same way tbh. These are the few times where he actually acts sincere, or at least as much as he can

If you bring it up to him, he'll stay quiet and listen. Honestly, he understands how vulnerable this moment can be and will keep his comments to himself

Insists how you've not only earned his respect, but he's literally in love with you and that means so much already (he actually thinks you're great, brave and so kind to him...pls he thinks does not deserve you)

"You.. deserve all the affection I give you. And I'll make sure you get it, whether you think you deserve it or not." (he does that little awkward smile he did with knockout in that one episode idk)

Certainly isn't the most...graceful with his words but can occasionally say something genuinely sweet ^

Depending on how long you've been together, his physical affection may seem a little awkward or either very intimate. He's either barely figuring out how to hold you close or holds you up to his faceplates, servos carefully shielding you from falling somehow.

Personally he knows these things take time to get over so he reminds you that you're loved and appreciated..in his own ways

Also if these emotions/thoughts stem from someone else's faults...the revenge has already been plotted and is currently in progress

I’M SO EXCITED May I request G1 Starscream and Skyfire merformers X Gnhuman reader who’s just scuba diving trying to study merformers, skyfire trying to study them as-well and starscream just kinda watching not really sure how to react?

I LOVE MERFORMERSSS I mostly stuck to your prompt, but I took some artistic liberties here and there. Basically, this is just Skyfire using science and cultural exchange as an excuse to court reader while Starscream seethes in the background. Also, if it isn't obvious, I don't have a clue about marine biology so if I used some words wrong, that's my bad + no proofread I'm but a poor tired jester. Thanks for the request :)

Warnings: SFW, GN Human reader

Kelp fades to coral and the distant waters lighten in their decreasing depth as Skyfire pushes with the current towards the reef. In his arms he carries a recovered fish catching device of human origin you had declared to be called a ‘net’. The weathered fibers contain various crustaceans, fish, and flora. Each one meant for your tasting and hopefully, delight. 

Last time you had met with him and Starscream, you had brought a net of your own, filled with smaller opaque nets holding food. And despite Starscream’s nagging, Skyfire had followed you to the surface, watching you remove the bubble making contraption off of your face to tear open the solid nets and eat what looked like multi-colored pebbles out of them. 

Your bare face was relatively alike to a mers, a fact Skyfire was quick to turn existential, much to Starscream’s chagrin. What a miracle to have contact with a species so physically similar, at least beyond the glaringly obvious differences of Skyfire’s lack of a split tail and inability to survive outside of water. 

Skyfire had attempted to take some of the pebbles from you then, only for you to sorrowfully push his webbed hand away, humming an apology. You were kind in your refusal, but the white mer wondered if perhaps humans were more territorial than Starscream had thought. He had told Skyfire your species was cowardly, avoiding past battlegrounds and reeling in fear when he had shown himself to your kind. Skyfire understood the sentiment. Violence for no reason other than the claim of a few more kelp beds had always felt juvenile, and he thought perhaps you would sympathize.

Still, the interaction with you had remained in Skyfire’s mind for a long time after. He had never seen any creatures within the ocean that survived off the abiotic parts of the environment and thought perhaps diet was the largest factor of your sluggish movements within the water. Hunting may not be his strongest suit, but the thought of showing you his favorites and enjoying them with you was more than enough incentive to endure Starscream’s insults to his speed.

Every so often glancing behind to assure his less enthusiastic companion still trails behind, Skyfire can feel the rush of energy coursing to every fin as he nears the pillar of rock on the outermost section of the reef that you frequent. 

“Hurry, Starscream! If they don’t see us, they might think we aren’t coming and leave,” the white mer shouts over his shoulder. 

A low growl is the only response he receives from the darker mer, but regardless of his fellow’s lacking reply, Skyfire continues swimming.

Eventually the pair reach the reef, passing over schools of shimmering fish that dart away at the sight of Starscream’s glinting bared teeth. 

“Right over here.” Skyfire brushes against one of the many walls of the reef, but this one is particularly special, for it’s the only one between you and him.

He can already see you floating an arm's length away from your pillar, nimble hands fiddling with the black whiskers protruding from your second skin’s back.

Moving the food-filled net to his other claw, Skyfire reaches for the top of the rock barrier dividing the two of you. He can’t wait to see you enjoy the food he caught you. While hunting is typically left to the kind of mer that hungers for more than just the catch, but the chase itself, Skyfire did his best for you. Besides, he’s sure anything is better than eating rock fragments.

Ready to launch himself over to you he flexes, only stopped by Starscream’s claw wrapping around his forearm, pulling him back.

“Why don’t you leave your pathetic catch here? I doubt they have any interest in such pitiful scraps.” His red eyes narrow, claw tugging on the net.

“Do you really think so?” Skyfire glances into the net. Sure, nothing within it is truly impressive, but you have always been nice, at worst delivering pushes and a wag of the finger while shaking your head.

Starscream leers over the rocks, eyes relaxing. His face pinches like he bit into a fish with rotting scales as he turns back to Skyfire.

Tail slashing through the water indignantly, Starscream snarls, “why are you so incessant upon being prodded by some land-creature anyways?”

Skyfire has never taken offense to your curiosity. In fact, he had been overjoyed to find a mind much like his in someone so wonderfully different.

“I guess-”

“Catching prey for them like you two are bonded! Next thing we know, you’ll flash your colors, too.” 

Skyfire feels his fins twitch at the comment, turning away from Starscream as heat flushes his face. Despite the clear negative charge behind the scolding, Skyfire can’t help the airy feeling imagining those things fills his head and stomach with.

Starscream hisses, “Oh, you can’t be serious.” 

“What? I simply want to show them what our diet consists of,” a white claw rubs sheepishly at his olfactory ridge, “one curious minded individual to another.”

“...Right,” the dark acanthoid mer relents, but his claw remains tightly wound in the nets' diamond-like weaving. Following Skyfire’s blue eyes, Starscream notices his lingering grip and quickly pulls back. 

His red eyes darken as the larger mer wastes no time and pulls himself over the ridge towards you. Skyfire catches you by surprise, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you into a sudden embrace that has you gasping a stream of bubbles. His speed leaves the two of you twirling, Skyfire’s wide fins fluttering around the two of you. 

Even from here, Starscream can feel the happiness radiating from the two of you. His chest tightens as he stalks through the coral, swatting at the surface feeders gathering around him. 

It’s unfair how close the two of you are, both physically and socially. Whatever. He has outdone Skyfire before, and he can do it again, Starscream thinks.
