Like, bro, we’re not all furries, we’re just trying to make you have a better reading experience than
‘Yells’ and ‘says’
ALSO these terms are EXCELLENT characterization opportunities for showing the reader the relationship between characters
So, no, it’s not furry speak
I keep seeing people making fun of using growled, hissed, roared, snarled etc in writing and it’s like.
have you never heard someone speak with the gravel in their voice when they get angry? Because that’s what a growl is.
Have you never heard someone sharply whisper something through the thin space of their teeth? Or when your mother sharply told you to stop it in public as a kid when you were acting up/being too loud? Because that’s what a hiss is.
Have you never heard a man get so blackout angry that their voice BOOMS through the house? Because that’s what a roar is.
Have you never seen someone bare their teeth while talking to accentuate their frustration or anger while speaking with a vicious tone? Because that’s what snarling is.
It’s not meant to be a literal animal noise. For the love of god, not every description is literal. I get some people are genuinely confused, but also some of these people are genuinely unimaginative as fuck.

Cultural Anatomy: Kyoshi Warrior Weapons
Tessen

The Kyoshi Warriors’ trademark war fans are formally known as tessen (鉄扇), which translates literally to “iron fans”. They were most famously used by samurai to fend off swords, throwing knives, and poisoned darts. Like a sword, the tessen could be dual-wielded to parry with one hand and attack with the other. I think in a 1-on-1 fight, Mai would probably have a lot of trouble fighting Suki.
Katana

Does the katana even need an introduction on the internet? Oh well, here’s the Wikipedia description: “A katana (刀) is a Japanese sword characterized by a curved, single-edged blade with a circular or squared guard and long grip to accommodate two hands.” Katana are pretty iconic to Japan, particularly samurai, so it’s not surprising that all of the Kyoshi Warriors wield them.
Leave my preteen living museum alone, he just lost everything he knew and u want him to lose the ONE thing he has left (his morals, values, and his culture). LET’S UNNORMALIZE KILLING.
Btw death is kinder than a big bad emperor getting his ass kicked by a 12 year old monk and HAVING TO DEAL WITH THE CONSEQUENCES OF HIS ACTIONS.

some of your goofy asses for the past 20 years

Paperweight from comic con!!!!!!

GUYS GUYS GUYS‼️‼️‼️
This is Mohammad and his family! He has a three children, Mira, Bakr, and Maria (and they’re all adorable) And they need help getting out of Gaza. Their home was severely damaged, and there’s no electricity, no education, no healthcare, etc. They need 40,000$, but as of me taking this screenshot above, they only have 85 of that total.
So I’m sharing this post and asking my mutual and my friends to donate!!!!!!! Or if you don’t have the money PLEASE PLEASE REBLOG AND SHARE!!!!!
Here’s the link!

(The character in the photo is named Atlanta, a Splatoon oc of mine. She stands with Palestine, as should you!)
(This is Mohammad’s tumblr account @mohammedswierh Let me know if I forgot anything in this post that you would like me to add!)
