jesus christ genuinely the end of hamilton's life is so depressing sometimes i can't read the biography/watch the musical the whole way through but there's something to be said in hamilton the musical's themes of how alexander “throwing away his shot” at the end is a good (? not the right word) choice in terms of the musical's themes of forgiveness and remembering what's really important philip's death and forgiveness. those are the only 2 things that are unimaginable. in a way it's hamilton realizing he doesn't want to kill burr. going beyond his desperate need to rise up and never throw away any shot which is a very different from the historical perspective of course but in terms of the musical i think it's a nice interpretation perhaps even alexander learning to be more like betsey

does anyone remember when all hamilton fanfic had john laurens be obsessed with...turtles? or something? jefferson's body could only digest mac and cheese. eliza dated maria reynolds. and the phrase "hamilsquad" was used in far too many texting au posts. oh the memories this is conjuring up.
