tumblr just informed me that the sappy post was my 100th one and offered me a "top poster" badge with a vaguely disturbing pair of dentures.

i think it's mocking me for posting so much in the course of like a week and two days 😭

the audacity to ask me to display this on my blog. like i want to scare more people away.

maybe this is a controversial statement but every time i see someone get very upset about fandom surrounding the founding fathers and how it's romanticizing them - have you considered that being forced into a homosexual relationship with their worst political enemies is most likely the biggest nightmare of those 18th century white men?

if anything the amrev fandom is probably humiliating these men on a much more visceral, personal level than academic critique (which is still important!).

i dunno, i think their complicated legacies can make space for an interesting conversation on dismantling these figures as larger than life. pulling them "down" to the level of shipping online. it's complicated and i do understand there is reason why people don't like it, especially in consideration of hamilton the musical, but i think it's worth thinking about.
