Past.

(flashback. Warning: dark and a bit creepy) Collin is sitting on the ceiling of an empty white padded room. He’s upside down and glaring at a security officer, who looks unbothered. The officer speaks up. “013, staring is rude. I know you’re upset about 014 but glaring isn’t going to bring them back.” More eyes appear all over Collin, all of them glaring at the officer. “I’m going to glare at you all I want. They killed Ollie! And yet you’re here like nothing happened, like there isn’t one less kid.” The officer doesn’t flinch. “Can you be civilized and not an eldritch horror for once? And you know what happens if you try and hypnotize me.” Collin only glares. They ignore the warning and all the eyes turn purple. The officer shoots a taser at them and they fall from the ceiling, landing hard on their back. All the eyes close and disappear as they lose consciousness. No one makes a move to help.

Problem. (This might not count but I tried.)

The camera clicks on, the video quality looked slightly different. Collin is sitting in a chair, their back to the camera, messing with their hair. “Damn it. This is getting annoying.” They mess with it for a few more minutes, attempting to braid it. Eventually they give up and let go of their hair before calling out. “Hey byte? Can you help me real quick?” A voice comes from behind the camera. “You wanted help with your hair?” It’s Calvin. “Yeah. It’s getting too long to braid on my own.” Collin replies. “And before you ask, no I’m not cutting it.” They sound like they’ve said that a million times already. “Alright, don’t turn to face me, my drone is following and I don’t want your abilities to go off and break it.” “I know. But thanks for the warning.” Calvin moves to stand next to Collin and starts braiding his hair carefully. The drone camera hangs back slightly and records. After a few minutes their hair is done. “Thanks byte.” They say quietly and the camera cuts.

It’s drone footage again, following Calvin. He walks past a room that has a sign that says: DO NOT OPEN. BALLOON ROOM.

In the room next to it Collin is playing a game while listening to music. Calvin speaks up. “Is the album I recommend good?” Collin nods. “Yep. Thanks.”
