Are the Chicken Soup recipe and the Pasta Sauce recipe from Seoulmates actual recipes or did you just come up with random things that sound right? They sound so gooooood!

They are both actual recipes I have actually made in real life, and loved enough to save. I’ve only made the Chicken Noodle Soup recipe from Chapter 7: In Sickness and Health once, when my mom and I weren’t feeling too well. My brother actually ate the most of it and was so full that that ended up being the only meal he had that day 😅

The Alfredo Sauce from Chapter 9: Chef Special I have made many, many times. I love pasta and especially cheesy, creamy sauces, but unfortunately I am also lactose intolerant so I don’t make it as often as I would like to. The original recipe was very basic and—in my opinion—bland, so I’ve adapted it to my taste. My brother also goes crazy with this recipe when I make it.

I really, really enjoy cooking. I’m Southern; it’s what we do. I find myself especially enjoying exploring recipes from different cultures and regions, sometimes much to my family’s dismay (Dad found out he is NOT a curry person). Since having Covid back in late 2020, I don’t get to cook much at all anymore.

There is a possibility of more recipe favorites showing up in Seoulmates and other fics, and I’ve dabbled with the idea of creating a “BTS FanFic Cookbook” masterlist eventually. It’s up in the air, since there’s only 2 recipes so far, and I’m not sure there’s an interest.

Fun fact about me:

My original career goal was in Criminal Justice. Forensics, specifically. Since I was in 5th grade (roughly 07-08)

Of course, I’d wanted to be a writer for about a year or so longer, but that wasn’t a “realistic expectation” as a sustainable career. I loved watching crime shows (NCIS, CSI franchise, Law & Order SVU, etc) and science and math came easily to me so it made sense. It stayed as my chosen career until my first semester of college—when I realized the job outlook wasn’t positive and the pay was terrible on top of the backup of work and lack of resources. This was the 15-16 school year, so the future I had envisioned for 9 years suddenly didn’t exist. I quit college (community college), because at that point I was just wasting my parents’ money because I had no idea what direction to go at that point.

So I got a job, and started thinking about what else I would enjoy as a career. COVID-19 and its lingering effects have put a major damper on that, but it gives me time to really feel out and research occupations that interest me.

And, of course, try out writing as a lucrative career.

I need your best names for a MALE, ORANGE KITTEN, born in FALL/AUTUMN that will be 8 weeks in December which is when we get to go pick him up!

Happy Birthday Jess!

Thank you so much! It’s been a good day. Dad sang “Happy Birthday” when I walked into the living room. My brother even gave me a big hug and a birthday greeting, and mom should be home in the next couple hours but she text me Happy Birthday. Both of my best friends text me as well, and my aunt. It’s been a relaxed, easy day, which I appreciate.
