Muse Food & My Fics

However long ago when I created this tumblr it was with the intent of sharing the imagines I’d been writing and posting on Instagram (under the same handle) here. A quick scroll through my Archive and I never posted one :-/ 

My relationship with writing has suffered in the last few years. I lost all will to read or write after my first bout of depression. It was actually imagines that got me reading again and ultimately writing again. Bout #2 + life circumstances changing snatched everything from me again. 

But yet again, it is the fandoms that saved me. Leading up to “The Last Jedi” I found myself spending more and more time on tumblr and Ao3 and more and more time mentally with the men of Star Wars. Suddenly my MIA muse began fluttering about again. Random little ideas or scenes scribbled out on edges of paper. The edges of paper turned into a legal pad, which turned into a full notebook...

Last week I reached the final page in said notebook and began a second. For the first time in five/six years I’ve even found myself writing out little scenes or wishing my muse could focus long enough for me to freaking write. But I’m trying to learn from past mistakes - I don’t want to put pressure on myself (Muse Killer #1); so, my muse is throwing around ideas like pollen in Spring but I don’t want to pressure myself...what’s a lass to do?

I have met and followed/stalked some amazing writers on tumblr and AO3, ones that could probably slaughter some of the ideas I’ve had and turn them into masterpieces...but I’m not a huge fan of making requests. I’ve been there, the pressure and incessant selfishness that comes with accepting requests (Muse Killer #2) was one of the things that made me fall out of love with writing. 

That said...I’ve been offering what I’ve called “Muse Food” around tumblr and AO3 - little ideas that I offer with no strings attached. Maybe the writer’s muse finds the idea yummy and takes it and makes it their own, maybe it ends up the untouched dish at a pot luck.

Thinking on all of this, I’m curious what writers - those I’ve read and those I’ve yet to discover - think about maybe posting some of my ideas on here where hopefully they will nourish your muses and I’ll get to see how folks interpret the ideas and make them their own. Equally, I could perhaps help generate some reading material for myself as I struggle through life at the moment (to give some context, my life is split between a crazy work schedule, being a full-time caretaker for condition unknown for my beloved Nana who took me in and raised me, and then my own health). Needless to say, I count on fiction as my life escape!

Help!!

I’ve spent two days scrolling through tumblr, Pinterest and Google trying to find a piece of fan art inspired by last week’s episode of Mandalorian (“The Jedi”) and I can’t find it!! 😭

It’s of Baby Yoda (aka Grogu) “talking” to Ahsoka and telling her all of the “names” Din had given to him like “No”.

Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Have You Seen This Fanfic?

I once again find myself turning to fellow fandom lovers in hopes of finally tracking down a Bucky fic that has been on my mind for YEARS!!!

It’s a super angsty fic, where the heroine (I can’t remember if she’s a “Reader” or OFC) loves Bucky but he starts dating someone else (I want to say it was Dottie?) Buck begins neglecting his Avenger duties and when the heroine gets into a life or death situation (because Buck refuses to go with her / he won’t answer his phone?) it might be too late to save her.

I want to say it was a five chapter fic, I read it all but the last chapter and of all the fanfic that I’ve ever read this one HAUNTS ME! Buck was such a dick to the heroine and seemed rattled when he realizes he may have caused her death.

Loved this - talk about a teaser that leaves me eager to follow these two along! Loved that the canon characters felt realistic and not off the mark, plus all the little things that just make this scream so uniquely Sonny? Perfection!

A/N: So as some of you might have seen, I have some ideas for Sonny in a long term relationship with the reader. I wanted to give them backstory, though, before I started creating their little world, so this is them when they met. Just a quick little thing. The whole universe is going to be pretty self-serving. I love karaoke and dream of moving to New York to become a writer (you’ll see what I’m talking about). I’m basically just writing out my dream life with one of my favorite characters lol. I’m just getting my feet wet in the L&O fandom, so I’d love it if you shared my story with other fans. Thanks for reading! :)

It wasn’t love at first sight. Well, maybe for Sonny it was. He’d say so every time the subject was brought up. They both agree, though, that they were absolutely smitten with the other from the moment they laid eyes on them.

It had been a long week for Sonny. The usual caseload was slowly taking its toll on his psyche. He knew one of these days he’d need to slow down and take a breather. Just a weekend away or something. Maybe spend it with his family on the island. Just shut off. He knew, though, that short term he needed a drink. “Whadaya say we go grab some beers or somethin’?” he suggested to Amanda and Fin. 

“Sounds like a great idea,” Fin looked up from his laptop with his usual lopsided smile. Amanda hummed an agreement.

They went to their usual spot – a little dive bar around the corner from the precinct. Something was different about it tonight, though. The lights were lower than usual and multicolor Christmas lights had been hung from every possible point on the ceiling. Sonny had to admit, though, the scene looked magical. As he ordered the group’s usual with their favorite bar tender he inquired about the change, swooping his finger in the air to gather up the thought.

“Oh this?” Scott the bar tender questioned. “We got a new ‘social director,’” he added the air quotes around the last two words with a bit of sarcasm. “Something about the owners wanting to get better crowds in here. I don’t know, man, I just work here. Plus, more people means more tips,” he smiled. “Tonight’s our new karaoke night, so you’re just in time,” he gave a little laugh as he knocked on the bar and walked off leaving Sonny to take in the room some more.

Daryl Dixon x Reader

“You ready?” Spencer called from the gate, waiting to open it up. Daryl nodded to Spencer, who pulled back the gate, Daryl sped forward passes a few walkers lingering outside. The wind blew his hair from his face, his blue eyes squint to focus on the empty road ahead. He can feel your arms wrapped around his waist, tightly holding on; the warmth of your head against his back, even after you got use to riding with him, you still held on so close. And when you felt brave enough, your fingers would creep up to his wrist, caressing them softly. It would bring a rare smile to Daryl’s face, one that always seemed reserved for you.

It was a 15 minute drive to today’s destination, one Daryl visit frequent, many times with you. It was your favorite spot near Alexandria, where the two of you could be fully alone, in the real world; not hiding behind those safe walls. It was near an abandoned cabin the two of you came across one day on a hunt. The two of you cleared it of the one walker inside, spending the day there. It was the first of many trips taken to the cabin, often wanting to escape the confinement of Alexandria. On one trip, Daryl held your hand as the two of you were walking to his motorcycle, when you noticed a tall patch of grass behind the cabin. You pulled the archer toward it, “Daryl, come on.” He tried to hold back his amusement, but when it came to you, he never could stop smiling. You brought a light into his life that never existed, that he felt undeserving of.
