(disclaimer: this is me complimenting things Techno does that i specifically enjoy, not that other streamers don’t manage the same thing. support content creators! also i’m not begrudging Techno wanting to keep out of more competitive events like non-charity MCCs, that’s part of what makes me like him so much) 

watching lots of other perspectives for MCC15 has really made me appreciate Techno’s streaming style. it feels so low key but with the edge of competitiveness that keeps me invested. 

he is so dedicated to good content (thinking about when he spoke about not wanting to become a “tournament andy”) and that's always what is produced. while i love and appreciate all the streamers i’m watching today, none of them give the same level of satisfaction as watching a Techno Tournament TM. it’s not just to do with skill, which certainly adds to something like battle box which gets harder to watch when someone  isn’t doing as well as you know they can, but everything else he brings to a stream makes it even better. the (sometimes comically unrelated) commentary, the support and advice he gives to his teammates, interaction with chat, and the balance of competitiveness and avoiding toxicity. 

also more niche, there’s a specific way he moves his cursor to make it an incredibly smooth viewing experience. i can’t explain it entirely, but it just feels like getting in a car with great suspension, i’m sure there’s no particularly different graphics or settings he uses but it makes it so easy for me to remain involved. similarly, something that has been mentioned a lot that i think comes hand in hand with not having a facecam, is great awareness of his character’s body language. the far away technogaze, and the way he turns his head to look at other people is the height of humour in my mind and none one can convince me otherwise. 

I love some of the competitors in MCC and the way they are with teh players they meet !!

Technoblade and his training videos he apparently makes for every new team member he has, showing them short cuts in games and the best techniques and doing one-off sessions to help improve their skills in places they’re not great with!!

Fruity B and how well he hit it off with all the others!! How great he is with others and how close he is with the Hermits!! He’s such a strong individual player and also can has an average of bringing all his teams to the top ten!!!

Illumina and his excitement of being paired with the Hermits! He has nicely consistent placements with his teams and despite being fairly new to MCC manages to bring his team usually either higher or equally to his own rank!!

PeteZahHutt and how good he gets along with all his team members, probably being one of the most iconic players. His dedication to helping his teammates with, and how consistently many players beg to be paired with him, easily having the title of one of if not the most successful players on his good days

Hbomb and his raw enthusiasm!! his ability to bring optimism and self confidence to everyone he has teamed with! Being known for being able to bring any teamup together with his inclusion and approachability to make everyone feel comfortable with him!

the signs as minecraft monday glitches/mistakes

aries: massive amounts of particles appearing in tnt run and destroying everyone’s framerates (week 3)

taurus: people spawning trapped underground in build battle and being disqualified if they relogged (week 7)

gemini: the border in battle arena doing almost no damage, then being buffed so intensely that it took out half the players, then going back to doing almost no damage (weeks 4-7)

cancer: lungers in spleef allowing people to catapult themselves out of the arena and onto the walls (week 13)

leo: the hunger games map where most of the chests were empty (week 8)

virgo: people finding so many ways to get trapped in find the button maps that the devs just started giving them a stack of ender pearls to escape (weeks 4-7)

libra: 1 hour grace period in hunger games (week 4)

scorpio: the event just straight up getting hacked multiple times (weeks 7 + 14)

sagittarius: technoblade starting with -1 kills in one shot (week 7)

capricorn: tnt run eliminations being sent to a hellish underground pit instead of dying properly (week 8)

aquarius: players turning invisible in spleef (week 3)

pisces: the spleef arena getting built with glowstone, which melted the ice into water (week 14)
