Recently, during a discussion with a friend of mine I realized that the series The Hunger Games is a Communist Manifesto. In this essay I will-

i can’t accentuate enough how much billy and steve are like billy and stu. there’s so many similarities in their lives. just look at the mfs names lol
exclude the murders on scream’s part and monsters on stranger things’ and it’s pretty much almost the same thing. you get two teenage boys in the 80s (90s) stupidly in love, who would kill and maybe even die for each other. steve (like stu) lives in a huge high-end house, alone almost all the time since his parents are always away and billys have an abusive dad, also their mom left and it was kinda shady
so my conclusion is: billy and stu definitely had some influence on billy and steve’s portrayal, both in canon and fanon

(disclaimer: this is me complimenting things Techno does that i specifically enjoy, not that other streamers don’t manage the same thing. support content creators! also i’m not begrudging Techno wanting to keep out of more competitive events like non-charity MCCs, that’s part of what makes me like him so much)
watching lots of other perspectives for MCC15 has really made me appreciate Techno’s streaming style. it feels so low key but with the edge of competitiveness that keeps me invested.
he is so dedicated to good content (thinking about when he spoke about not wanting to become a “tournament andy”) and that's always what is produced. while i love and appreciate all the streamers i’m watching today, none of them give the same level of satisfaction as watching a Techno Tournament TM. it’s not just to do with skill, which certainly adds to something like battle box which gets harder to watch when someone isn’t doing as well as you know they can, but everything else he brings to a stream makes it even better. the (sometimes comically unrelated) commentary, the support and advice he gives to his teammates, interaction with chat, and the balance of competitiveness and avoiding toxicity.
also more niche, there’s a specific way he moves his cursor to make it an incredibly smooth viewing experience. i can’t explain it entirely, but it just feels like getting in a car with great suspension, i’m sure there’s no particularly different graphics or settings he uses but it makes it so easy for me to remain involved. similarly, something that has been mentioned a lot that i think comes hand in hand with not having a facecam, is great awareness of his character’s body language. the far away technogaze, and the way he turns his head to look at other people is the height of humour in my mind and none one can convince me otherwise.
all i can say is i HIGHLY recommend watching the boogeyman scene from Etho’s perspective- it is far creepier with the music and previous set up of the disc earlier.
BDubs slowly turning his head to look at Etho, as Etho backs away, and Grian’s innocent confusion. There’s a break in tension as they realise Grian’s block sounds weren’t on and Etho believes it was a joke only for Bdubs to launch himself past the enchanting table.
and then there’s the betrayal of the jokes they'd made by themselves, Etho pretending to be the boogeyman to get a scare out of who he believed was his friend ,when all along it had meant nothing- both in the sense of wall forced between allies when playing as the boogeyman but also the in the way that the joke was made meaningless... Bdubs had no reason to fear him when he was the monster all along.
Wolverine is an interesting name for Logan.
While he is somewhat feral and hairy, yes, that’s not enough to go off of when Scott and the Professor stumble on him in those woods. Another trait of a wolverine is that they are easily domesticable. Easily tamed, in a way. Xavier took one look at Logan, who was broken and scared, invaded his mind to shape it how he saw fit, and named him after one of the most tamable wild species. And even still in the X-Men, he is shamed for his animalistic instincts. He is expected to be tame and civilized, is expected to be domesticated like many wild animals people bring into their homes. And when he acts on these less desirable instincts, he is cast out, in a way. When he lashes out, whether in some sort of courtship- much like a wolverine- or because of overstimulation, he is scorned and tosses aside until he is ‘presentable’ or docile. He is fundamentally deprived of the pack activities from the very animal he is named after, and is just expected to be okay. He is expected to discard these instincts, and yet he is named after the very thing these instincts resemble. He is used as a work animal, sent into dangerous situations like a canary in a cave, only to be retrieved and saved if someone may be fond of him- like someone may be fond of a pet. Logan is presented as an animal, and is yet expected to act like a man.
Anyways, Scott/Storm/Wade is the white lady who takes one look at a traumatized fight dog, goes ‘oh, buppy’, and has that thing spoiled in a week.

tsukishima warms up to you after a while of dating him. at first he recoils at physical affection because he’s not used to it, but once he realizes how touch starved he is after you guys cuddle for the first time, he becomes CLINGY.
when tsukishimas sleepy, hes clingy. when you wake up in the middle of the night and try to unravel from his arms to reach for your phone to check the time, his arm immediately wraps around you and pulls you back toward him, so your chest is flat against his back.
“kei, wait. i just wanna check the time.” you mumble, putting your hand on his bicep. “you can do that later.” tsukishima grumbles, holding you tighter against him. “look, the sun’s not even out yet. you can check it later.”
he’s especially clingy when he wakes up and you aren’t there, but instead in the kitchen, making pancakes with strawberries. he scares you by pressing his chest against your back yet again, icy cold fingers slithering around your waist. “why didn’t you wake me up?” he asks, raspy morning voice filling in the silence. “wanted to surprise you.” you say, slightly smiling as you flip the last pancake.
he’s especially clingy in aftercare, wiping you down, giving you a bath, and changing the sheets. afterwards he makes sure you’re comfortable, and lays you down on his chest, making you smile and melt into his touch.
“you’re so clingy, y’know that? i love that you are though, ‘ts just unexpected from you.” you mumble into his neck, kissing it.
tsukishima rolls his eyes, scoffing. “i’ve never felt as comfortable with anyone as i do with you.” he ignores how on fire he is, that if you were to look up you’d see how red he is. he moves his glasses from the bed to the nightstand, and you whine, putting his hand on your back. “why’d you move it?” you whine.
he chuckles. “i just had to move my glasses so they wouldn’t break while i sleep. you’re so clingy, y’know that?” tsukishima replies, mocking you. you giggle and he continues to rub his hands up and down your back nonetheless, turning off the nightlight.
“yeah yeah whatever, i love you kei.” you say as you drift off to sleep, a small smile on tsukishimas face as he quietly joins you. “i love you too.”

Was rewatching Two Towers (extended edition obvs) and when the Battle of Helms Deep came up, I absolutely refuse to believe that when Theoden ordained that the elderly and young boys would also pulled into fighting the Uruk-Hai, that the mother, wives, sisters, and daughters that heard this didn't immediately start undressing and forcing their loved ones to swap clothes with them because if you think for one second I am about to let my 14 year old brother or my ill grandfather (who probably can't even LIFT a sword) go fight for our freedom when I can, then Theoden King better step up because I have a few things to say
I think one of the things that makes Payneland so so so irresistible and makes us INSANE is that they have the kind of bond you read about in classical love stories, that kind of mythological devotion, and still they are so very human.
They are Achilles and Patroclus but not in a distant, 2000 year old tale way. They feel real enough to be our friends if it was possible, which is always amazing in a character, and YET the strength of their love feels just as real.
So this is why I cry about them everyday I guess
The resentment I have towards my parents is heavier than the ‘supposed’ love I have for them.
But isn’t resentment a byproduct of the lack of tenderness and attention received? “I resent you for setting me aside. I resent you for ignoring all my efforts, and even if I fight to gain a sliver of your attention, recognition, anything—I remain unseen, unloved, unworthy.”
And so this feeling conflicts with me because how can I have this much resentment if I have no regard for them. But I also know, as much as I refuse to admit that their names are etched in my heart—bleeding and refusing to heal until attended to. AND SO, who’s to say that this resentment isn’t just misconstrued affection?
Obscure Song Theory
Okay, okay, everybody's heard Short Skirt, Long Jacket by Cake. HOWEVER. I have a theory about its subject, Miss Kitty/Karen.

SO HERE'S MY THEORY:
The narrator in Short Skirt, Long Jacket is actually LELAND FROM CLEVELAND and it takes place during a trip to Texas where Kitty/Karen (the subject in Ohio) is making a deposit on her loan from the local Citibank to buy her car with cupholder armrests.
I have no other evidence to support this theory except for this. However, my conviction is pure and true.
