Okay okay, I'll give more Kai content, but only because you asked so politely /j

When he first arrives in the Neverrealm, Kai wants nothing to do with the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu. He's already had bad experience with one all-powerful evil staff, thank you very much, he doesn't need a repeat

But along comes Vex, and while Kai distrusts him immediately, he's also a bit disoriented from Aspheera yoinking his powers and the journey and maybe a concussion, and Vex doesn't... seem evil at first. He's just a desperate traveler seeking a campfire to warm up at, and, well, one little use of the scroll to save this freezing guy's life is okay...

Vex tells him a woe-ing tale of harsh land of the Neverrealm, how bitter cold it is and how rare fire is. It may not be as bad as when Zane "Ice Emperor" Julien decided to be Elsa, but the Neverrealm can get cold, and Kai doesn't know this place or how well the people are adapted to it, so he thinks... he could help. He could make things better. He can bring more life-bringing fire, save so many people, use this power he has for good, prove he's not useless or weak after Aspheera drained him, he can help-

A bit of fire here, a bit of fire there, and every time Kai uses the scroll to help, he gets a bit more corrupted and twisted

Floods start happening from the melting snow, so Kai helps by evaporating the floods. Houses were damaged, so he burns down trees to use as more timber.

Little by little, Kai starts losing it. He just wants to help, he wants to protect his new family, and when that family is threatened (by the Yetis, by the Formlings, by the king, by anyone Vex says is dangerous), he fights back with the fury of a raging sun

He can't see he's actually doing more harm than help, even to the suffering villagers who aren't adapted to the warm summer heat he's bringing

Vex twists Kai's protective and caring nature until he becomes possessive, defensive, and aggressive. He wants to help so bad that he'll use any means necessary- even if that help isn't actually good

When his old family shows up, Kai stops. He runs to them, joyous, leaps off his firey throne and bounds down the steps towards them-

-but Vex stops him.

"These are more vile tricks of the Formlings, my lord. They wish to take your staff from you. They wish to make you powerless and weak so they can take your throne and hurt your people. These are not your friends. They are imposters."

Kai doesn't want to believe it. They look so real. So much like his family.

But the staff's influence is powerful, and he grips it tighter. He cannot lose his staff. He cannot lose his power. He needs it to help. He needs it to keep his kingdom alive. They need his fire. They need him.

And so he fights.

Fights long and hard, fights with fury and fire, fights with every spark in his soul

And he nearly wins.

But when he goes to strike down these imposters, he sees a look in Lloyd's eyes that he can't shake.

It reminds him of an island, of a golden staff and red eyes, of ultimate power swirling at his fingertips.

And it reminds him of a volcano, of a cage slowly sinking in the lava, of a desperate young child crying out his name

Kai drops the scroll

These aren't imposters. This isn't a trick.

The only fake is Vex

And Kai won't let himself hurt his family

Drew Cyan (movie!Nya) from the Dorksquad Forced to be Evil AU!

In this AU, all the members of the Dorksquad (who have not met each other yet) are forced to be evil and work for various villain groups.

Cyan was kidnapped by a Merlopian cult that worships Wojira and forced to be their high priestess lest they use Red (m!Kai) instead. She gets to visit her twin occasionally and plans for the day they can both escape unharmed

And yes, the Maya parallels in the outfit/hairstyle were intentional, Maya and Ray were involved in the Wojira Cult and the Fire Snakes before and tried to keep them away from their kids (this failed)

This is for Kaigami, (they/him) a nindroid doppelgänger of movie!Kai built by The m!Mechanic to steal blueprints from m!Dr. Julien! The orange squares are more of a "sometimes/kinda" tile

Not human = nindroid

Unnatural/rare "human" features = they have orange eyes! Other than that, with synthetic skin they look like m!Kai. Later he gets help changing his look to appear more metallic & dyes their hair bright red

Related to a canon character = technically made to mimic movie!Kai, later adopted by Doctor Julien (thus becoming m!Zane's, m!Echo's, and Chen the Cheerleader's adopted sibling), he is also the sibling of movie!Cryptor and m!Mindroid (Zero and Cleft)

Tragic backstory = they were built by The Mechanic, who does not treat nindroids as people. Poor bby is very traumatized (and yes they are bby- by built date, they are technically three months old, physically they look 16 to mimic Kai, and mentally younger). The Mechanic uses magic borrowed from the Mafia (m!Master Chen and Clouse) to insert Kai's memories in them so they believe they're the real Kai. It is quite a shock to him when he finds out he isn't.

Good fighter = With Kai's memories, he's a good fighter. Without, he still has his fire jets (not the element of fire though) and metal skin

Rivalry with / hates a canon character = it's more fear than hate, but yeah, they really don't like their creator, The Mechanic (though it is the movieverse version who technically doesn't exist in 'canon' so-)

Doesn't know parts of their backstory = they got semi-amnesia for a while when Kai's memories got overlapped into their system (basically they forgot they were Kaigami and instead thought they were Kai)

Works alongside the ninja but isn't part of the team = they are too bby for big missions (m!Cryptor/Zero would have a heart-attack if they got hurt, he's so protective), but they can still help, especially after they first realize they aren't the real Kai and work with the others to find him (the Mechanic kidnapped him)

Honourable mention to the "in their teens" one, Kaigami looks it physically but mentally is younger. Also shoutouts to the bisexual one, Kai is but Kaigami is aro/ace

And they are most certainly not neurotypical
