Peck typing Touch typing

Peck typing is when you use your 2 index fingers on the keyboard. The GIF demonstration is a bit exaggerated but hopefully you get the idea.

Touch typing is when you use 10 fingers.

Touch typing is usually taught in school. In my case it was a mandatory elective for all 5th graders.

I refused to learn it because learning is frustrating for me especially when I already know how to do something in my own way. Didn’t see a reason to put effort into learning a method of something I can already do perfectly fine. I would default to peck typing when the teacher wasn’t looking. So despite the fact that I was in a typing class, I type the “bad way”. I’m curious to see how many people are also peckers.
