💫 i got this q right before yours and answered it here 🥰
🍉 in what ways has writing helped you process trauma and/or navigate through your own life?
bruh where to begin 😭
sw/hanleia single-handedly helped me recover from the trauma of law school and the numb hopeless misery it left me with. writing was a way of reclaiming joy and a sense of self - I relate so much to leia and she’s such a full and unapologetic person which is really what I lost during law school. writing her and han helped (helps) me figure out a lot of stuff I didn’t know about healthy relationships esp ones between people managing ptsd. and they’re just so fundamentally hopeful and happy which has made my life more like that too
wolfstar I just. i grew up gay nonbinary and neurodivergent in a suffocating snobby part of england and I had absolutely no idea why so much of the shame and sadness and fear I felt was bc of that. writing about sirius has helped me figure out literally 21 years of fucked up life-defining shit. it’s helped me be okay enough with england to actually want to move back there. it’s helped me figure out my full sense of identity now I don’t carry that shame anymore
and holy fuck I’ve learnt SO much about gay relationships in this context bc of it. like being gay generally, but esp navigating that after growing up in classist homophobic england. it is the first time in my life I’ve had any representation for what my childhood/youth was like and it’s changed everything for me
i can honestly look back at photos since I graduated look school and see how much happier I became from sw and how much more confident and confortable i became with myself from wolfstar. my best friend was telling me last weekend how I straight up got hotter after I came out as nonbinary lmao
anyway writing about the blorbos is everything
🎙 which one of your fics would you like someone to make a pod-fic of?
a grave mistake just so I can listen to it on long drives
fic writer asks
in another life i would’ve really liked just doing coke with you in a public bathroom
My headcanon is that there isn’t the same stigma (informed by conservative Christian beliefs) in the wizarding world BUT the fixation on pure bloodlines means there is still an undue importance placed on heterosexual marriage and having biological heirs, and that those choices are viewed by some (such as Sirius’ family) as being more “legitimate.” I’m thinking about non-Western cultures that prioritize filial relations and “traditional” marriage. So maybe queerness and queer relationships are not shunned by everyone, but they would not be welcomed by fascist Death Eaters and other conservative-leaning wizards.
unhinged fandom opinion: hogwarts actually wouldn't be the queer haven in the '70s that everyone writes that it is.
contrary to popular belief, this opinion is actually deeply hinged. it's not that queer people didn't exist, just that even if they'd had the context to understand that about themselves it's highly unlikely they'd all be out about it.
send me unhinged headcanons/opinions
