You know, I think my biggest problem with some shows or other media representing autistic people is that they often propagate the idea that only an autistic person with savant syndrome, perfect recall, or a special ability of some sort can be useful in an important setting. Some of us have very high care needs, yes, but everyone has things they struggle with and things they are good at. I don't think an autistic person should need to be a genius to be considered on the same playing field as allistic people. Why do we need to work so much harder to be on the same level even if we are just as intelligent as you?

Do you ever get a reminder from life that you are a moron? I started using Tumblr very recently and on my first day I clicked on the Supernatural tag as one of my interests, thinking "man, I can't wait to hear some spooky stories" before realizing that there is a show called supernatural.
