A smile graced his face hearing the timer he had set letting him know that dinner was ready, taking the dishes out of the oven and plating them with care while humming along to the suppressed sound of Vivir Mi Vida coming from his pocket.

Remembering he set the song as his ring tone he picks up the phone with haste clearing his throat as he looked at the contact name. “Hola mi amor...... 5 minutes......... of course, everything is perfect.......... can’t wait mi flor............ adiós”. Setting his music box to play something soothing as he sat on his couch tuning his guitar making sure it sounded perfect. Humming softly, remembering how he got to this point.

Nervous and scared is how you would describe the emotions running through this boys head. He stands at the meeting place he told you to come to in his letter. Chicken scratch barley legible but the smile that lit up your face when you read it gave him hope. His collard shirt became suffocating as time seemed to go slower.

His hands began to fidget the present he held between them began to shake. Just as beads of sweat began to gather on his brow you rounded the corner. Cloths slightly disheveled considering your last period was hero training, your chest rose and fell as you gasped for air having run here to not miss him. A smile graced this boys face a feeling of excitement and relief washed over him a light dusting of pink on his cheeks.

“I’m glad you could make it” his tone soft as if the brashness of his voice would scare you. Your reassurance gave him confidence popping the question and bringing the small box from behind his back he awaited your reaction. Feeling bold you gave him a hug and peck on the cheek accepting the gift and saying yes to the date proposal in one swift motion.

The redness on his face and the smile showing nothing but teeth glistened in the setting suns raise.

The embrace that held you would be one of many your feet nearly left the floor as the kisses he littered your cheeks with flurried. A promise was made that day as he opened the box slipping the ring on your left ring finger. “I promise to take care of you and give you all the love and affection you could ask for and more. What ever you could possibly need there’s nothing I wouldn’t do for you”. Flustered is an understatement in the way he feels in this moment, you had been friends since first year and he fell for your radiating confidence and kindness you showed to your fellow classmates.

You’ve grown close and have had this “air” between you two for a few months. Hearing a gentle knock on the door he gets up from his resting position placing his guitar on the couch smile on his face he opens the door. Seeing you brings joy to his heart and holding you brings contempt to his soul, but receiving a gift from you was unexpected. The eyebrow lift he gave you was very prominent as he asked “I thought we just agreed on dinner-“ your finger covering his mouth so you can get a word in. “You spoil me I spoil you no complaints”. Despite the want to spoil you as much as you do him he smiled and excepted the gift making a mental note to get you an even better one in the near future.

Finally taking you all in as he holds you at arms length he let his lazy smirk take place once again and said “You look stunning mi reina”. A kiss placed on your forehead as he led you to the table. Food cooled just enough for consumption, a feast laid out before you. As you eat and reminisce about all the good times dinner coming to a calm conclusion. The evening don’t end there in fact a marathon of one of your favorite shows just happened to be playing as soon as you both came into the living room. The both of you changing into comfy cloths (you basically live here so yes you have cloths). The night continuing with you both screaming profanity’s at the screen from time to time, crying at the sad moments, and gentle kisses exchanged between you both until sleep took over you.

Pulling the blanket over you both giving you one last forehead kiss and adjusting you so you’ll be comfortable. He mumbles “Happy third year Mi querida”.
