i feel like there was a bit of a missed opportunity in that scene where Dionysus tells Percy he has to go on the quest because Poseidon is his father and he must obey the will of the gods, and Percy outright refuses. like I was expecting grapevines and everything. i think that would've been a good way to establish Mr D's lack of tolerance for the campers and how he resents heroes

The way they're building Luke and Percy's relationship is going to make the betrayal heartbreaking. Like, Luke feels even more of a mentor than he does in the books. He stands up to Clarisse, we're shown that he is the one helping Percy try out everything, and he's the one that tells him about Thalia and about Annabeth's dreams. Not only that, but we really see how much he's come to mean to Percy, she tells Sally that he's made friends on his first day for the first time in ever and he's clearly talking about Luke. I think the betrayal is going to be wonderful.

i think we need to understand the gravity of how quickly Percy blames himself and his disabilities for the way his world is. how he's been made to believe over years and years that he's weird, that there's something wrong with him. Percy saying he should've been paying attention. Percy saying there's something wrong with his brain. Percy calling himself broken.. he's just a kid man
