One of my favorite aspects of Killer Frequency is that pretty much the entire game is built off of references and tropes which weave together to be a perfectly good standalone story. Every character, the setting, the mystery, are all perfectly executed examples of tried and true horror/media tropes that come off as cheesy, goofy and endearing but not predictable in a boring way. To make something so meta and so inundated with media tropes feel fresh and exciting is a very commendable feat.

All this to say the ‘sultry mysterious lady who is clearly suspicious and absolutely evil but will avoid suspicion because they’re so hot’ character archetype they were clearly going for with Marie got me hook. Line. And SINKER. I knew what they were going for, I was well aware of that trope, and was STILL like “aw fuck they got me”

Also does anyone know if the in-game songs (besides the credits) have official lyrics? I wanna do a songfic to Long Ride Home but idk the lyrics. Or if they even made lyrics.

And if they DIDNT, I’m 100% basing it off of my headcanon that it’s a love song about a soldier in Vietnam coming back to the US to see his family and his love. Cuz I was like why would a song about traveling be so important to Marie and George but then I was like oh it’s probably a love song about coming home to your partner and family after being away for a while, and obviously the Vietnam war was the major conflict going on when they were growing up so.
