Anakin spending a lot of time with Palpatine? He's investigating. Also, Obi-Wan is with him because in this AU he's not letting Creepy Old Sith near his kid alone.

The co-dependence of Kenobi and Skywalker? Well, of course they're close, they're busy trying to figure out how to overthrow the leader of the free galaxy.

Cringey Anidala dialogue? Obviously they're trying to hide the fact that Obi-Wan and Anakin having been spending every spare moment with Padme and her family for the past decade -- again, plotting to overthrow the Chancellor.

Padme and Anakin running off to very inadvisably rescue Obi-Wan from Geonosis? Duh, that's Anakin's dad and Padme's Bonus Dad.

Padme wearing white to a bloodbath? She's unhinged and trying to overthrow a Sith Lord. Next question.

Anakin getting assigned Ahsoka instead of Obi-Wan getting her? Obviously the Council because of various events thinks Obi-Wan and Padme are a Thing. Clearly the impressionable padawan should go to Skywalker instead, as he is literally a better option now.

The crazy exploits of Obi-Wan and Anakin during the war? Well, you see, they're also fighting a shadow war. It complicates things.

Their dumb sign language? Sometimes you need to talk about your shadow war without other people knowing.

The incompetent rescue of the Chancellor in RotS? They were 100% hoping Palpatine would conveniently die on the way home.

The debacle that is the rest of RotS? Oh, that was absolutely a carefully staged play, complete with Anakin enlisting the younglings to pretend-die for the security cameras.

The dramatic, over the top dialogue during the Mustafar duel? It's Padme's fault: she wrote it and she's really into holodramas.
