Kinetic Typography Movie Finished!

Kinetic Typography movie finished!

Might go back in the future to fix some nit picky stuff. For the most part I’m happy with how it turned out. I was happy with the “bounce” effects on some of the words towards the end. I feel like this is something Adult Swim would play during their breaks in between shows.

More Ideas For My Physical Type Project. I Think The Lighting Here Is Really Interesting, But I Still

More ideas for my physical type project. I think the lighting here is really interesting, but I still want to shoot for a more natural light source. I like the shadows that are being created in the third pic. Gives the whole thing a sense of depth, which I think is something I’m missing from mine right now.

Might try to angle the text going into the diorama to get more of a sense of scale, and play with camera angles. Probably just need to implement some simple camera tricks to create effects within the same vein as this.

Dusk, Sunset colors are quickly becoming more of my aesthetic.

I feel like everyone has there own place they go to in their heads, or not even a specific place for everyone, just a type of environment. For me that’s just a wide open field where the sky looks crystal clear like this. Sometimes I’m by myself. Sometimes there is a party going on in the distance, with background noise. Sometimes there’s silence, sometimes there’s certain songs playing in my head. It’s inspiring for me, and the colors and emotions this type of environment give me I take and apply to some more serious comic panels I’m working on.

I Love This Dude.

I love this dude.

Wayne White takes old paintings from the thrift store and paints 3D text within to create a new space. I love the humor that is prevalent in a lot of his work and I would definitely love to have some of these hanging around my house.

I really like how integrated into the environment the text is, like here how some of it is hidden behind the trees. Like you feel if you went to this spot in real life you’d expect to find this text there as a giant statue.

Another movie I saw recently that falls into my “cozy horror” genre. It’s a French horror film about a vegetarian veterinary student who discovers some hidden instincts within herself during a hazing process at her university. The imagery is no where near as colorful as in Suspiria, but it is given on a much more realistic level, hitting me with more anxiety than Suspiria did. Much of the early movie contain scenes with a certain kind of nature that I am very drawn to in storytelling: otherwise normal scenarios...but there’s just something a little bit off.

The poster design here is also very illustrative and cool, and I think it really does capture the nature of the film.
