Thanks so much, that cleared up everything. However, I've always been that type of person who watches the movie/show after reading the book. So I think I'm going to read it first😅. Do you think you'll read the book? Also how old are you (sorry if that's intrusive, you dont have to answer)
And after I watch th show I'll definitely check out your live blogs. Thank you.
Charlie
i've never seen or read good Omens? is it good and also should I read the book before watching the show?
So, I haven't actually read the book yet, even though I bought a very pretty hard cover edition after the end of season 2. But the show is a 100/10 for me. I pray for a season 3 daily, the 2nd one aired on the 28th of July and I'm still not over it (as is the rest of the fandom). It's one of my hyperfixations.
You don't need to read the book to understand the series. The first season covers the whole plot of the book. So you might think "What content is the 2nd season based on? And if we should get a 3rd one what would that be about?". Now that's where things get a bit complicated: The book had two authors (as you might know) Neil Gaiman and Sir Terry Pratchett, who sadly died a few years before the series came out. Neil and Terry talked about writing a sequel and plotted some of it but never got to writing it due to one of them living in England and the other one in the US. So now after they announced that there will be a 2nd season the plan for was/is to have season 2 be a bridge between what happened in the 1st book/season and what would have happened in the sequel which will hopefully be covered in a 3rd season.
So, the show is weird, but I know you're down for that, so that's good.
The acting, directing, the writing, the editing, the music and the set design and costume design are great.
I did a little live blog for all 12 episodes if you'd like to know my thoughts on any of the episodes in particular.
Let me know if you'll watch it
I can't thank Alice enough. Finally some proper ace representation

That's my one. Really? I love it. Thanks. What's it about?
yeah that pretty much sums me up
"It's my comfort show"
babe if your comfort show includes two (2) disastrous gay man who doesn't get very well together but still love each other til the ends of the earth and sacrifice all they have just to keep the other safe but even after that, after all their suffering they don't end up together (extra points if one of them dies anyway) that it's no comfort show
A (possibly insignificant) detail I love about Dead Poets Society is the fact that Neil plays Puck, who is eluded to be queer/gay and Shakespeare himself was known to write about homosexual relationships. Neil compares Todd exclusively to Walt Whitman, a man known for having relationships with men. They are both comparable to other queer people/characters so easily and I feel like this isn’t pointed out enough??
