Hello everyone! As October approaches, I've been hearing a lot about the very popular Whumptober. However, since I'm not much of a whump writer, I decided to go ahead and make my own Flufftober challenge!
For those who don't already know, this challenge involves following a prompt for each day in October. I am writing blog, so I'll be writing, but feel free to follow these prompts in the medium of your choice! Also, you can participate as much or as little as you like. Technically, the challenge is for the entire month, but if there's a day you're not vibing with the prompt or you just don't have time, don't stress. This is purely for fun.
If you're not one for pure fluff, flangst (fluff/angst) is also perfectly acceptable.

holy shit i just saw your blog and i think we might be clones of each other or something. i mean everything, from dnd to tea to video essays to lotr to cameras. i think the only thing we dont have in common is crocheting and that i dont have any pets (mom doesn't like pets)
to answer your question; i can't decide on just one of them. i feel like each character represents a certain part of me and i love different aspects of all of them (if that makes sense). it's like i simultaneously relate to nuwanda but also to todd. charlie is my more extroverted adhd side that my friends see, while todd is my more introverted and anxiety side which is how i often am at school. but then i relate to meeks and his nerdiness and how he could go on for hours about topics he's interested in and i guess i have a need to get good grades because my parents expect that, like neil. those four are defenietly my favourites and i couldn't pick one from the four of them.
about movies, do you have letterboxd? if you do, we should be mutuals. here's mine

i think this is really important and definitely gets your creativity flowing, especially if you're stuck on a scene. and it helps you understand your characters more and what they would do under certain circumstances.
it's kind of like coming up with fan fiction about your own characters
I don't know who needs to hear this but you don't need to beat yourself up over the fact that you're thinking about stuff like a camp Halfblood au of your ocs instead of "actually working" on your wip.
I actually encourage you to think those thoughts through!
Let them run around freely in your head because when they come to a halt you might just have learned something about your characters, their dynamics and their world, you may even find the solution to that plothole or the answer to that question that has plagued you.
Imagine your character's future to find out how they would act in a different phase of their lives so that you can write their present self in a way that leads to this future self. Think about what music your high fantasy character would listen to if they were in a coffee shop au. Figure out what Hogwarts house your ocs would be sorted in and if their relationships would change or stay the same. Create that alternate timeline where the best friends are on opposite sides and think about the consequences this would have for the world around them. Age up your characters just for fun and see where that takes you. Think about memes that a future fanbase could make about your work like a "[insert wip name] but as vines" YouTube video. Decide who of your ocs would say what if you see one of those fake quote posts or textpost memes on here.
All of that is information and context, all of this association helps you get a grip of that idea in your head, it helps you get a feeling of who your characters are, what your world is and what your story needs and wants to be. If you don't put pressure and restrictions on yourself and allow yourself to explore stuff freely without wanting results you often get them anyways, that's part of the creative process.

I was on Tumblr's Heartstopper tag and my six-year-old cousin came and sat next to me. she started looking at my phone ("Marion, je veux regarder avec toiiiiiiii !") and inevitably, there were pictures and gifs of Charlie and Nick (💙) kissing, and the same for Tara and Darcy (🧡).
after five minutes, after several gifs of Nick and Charlie, she asks me "are they two boys?". I tell her yes. she answers "but they kiss?" and I say yes, because they are in love. "boys in love with each other?". "yes, there are plenty of boys in love with each other in the world". "Oh, I didn't know". several minutes passed in silence. then, after a gif of Tara and Darcy, she says to me "and there, these are two girls in love with each other?" and I answer yes. she told me that she believed that girls were necessarily in love with boys and vice versa. I explained to her that there were also boys who liked boys, girls who liked girls and people who liked both. she said "oh okay" then spent the rest of the hour, until lunchtime, cheering and smiling at every Heartstopper post we saw. she let out "ohh so cute!" and insisted on putting likes under the photos and gifs of Tara and Darcy and Nick and Charlie herself.

Love the concept of scissors. Someone was like, “a knife is clumsy for this task, what if I used TWO knives?” and they were right.
- cherry wine is about domestic abuse. it’s now called a cute proposal song.
- too sweet is about seizing the day and ignoring healthy habits in favor of having more fun with unhealthy ones. he’s actively critical of himself in the song. it’s now called a song about thinking you’re superior for drinking black coffee.
- take me to church is about worship as a metaphor for sex. it’s called a religious song.
- eat your young is a song about war and political greed. it’s called a song about sex.
- now, the strongly political message of nobody’s soldier is being ignored in favor of calling it a metaphor for hozier’s relationship with his fans.

my ultimate comfort show is friends. I've seen every episode a billion times, but it still makes me laugh and I still feel like I'm watching it for the first time. it's nostalgic and it just feels like home. I would like if there was more diversity tho..
i love how I met your mother (except for that awful ending). its so comforting and the show discusses real problems that young adults face like unemployment, divorce, infertility, losing a parent etc. characters go through real problems that real people face.
heartstopper obviously. again, I feel like I'm mentioning a lot of comfort shows rather than genuinly good shows but heartstopper is just.. so perfect. it is a bit cringe at times but teenagers are actually like that. everyone in that friend group is so loyal and kind and there's no drama and overall toxicness you'd find in most netflix shows like riverdale, elite etc. and I feel like this is one of the first shows I've seen with good queer representation. the paris squad remind me a lot of my friends and I, and we actually watched the show together. and we're gonna binge all of s3 and then talk about it (it's gotten to be a bit of a tradition)
id like to say that I love the owl house, even though I've never officially seen it. I've watched a lot of clips of it on YouTube and I know what happens and whenever I feel stressed or overwhelmed with school work, I'd watch like a 40 minute video of lumity. and I also relate to luz noceda on a personal level. I found out about this show only last year, when it was on it's final season and I was 16. I wish my 12 year old self watched it, because she would have LOVED the owl house and found comfort in this show. watching the owl house at 16 and 17 for the first time shocked me because I felt like my 11 and 12 year old self had come to life (and btw we even look really similar so there's that..). I just started watching Hilda and it's a lot like the owl house and Hilda reminds me of myself too, so idk. they're both really great shows
and lastly i'd probably have to go with stranger things. I love the gravity falls-dark suburban-fall vibe the first two seasons had. season three was really fun, but I didn't like the fourth that much. I also hate how it takes so long for each season to come out. again, I related to robin a lot and I love to play DND with some of my new friends. I started watching stranger things when I was around 11 with my old friends and I remember collaborating on pinterst boards and stuff, so that was fun. i'm going to watch the last season with them too.
ive seen a bunch of episodes of doctor who and some clips on YouTube and I love that. I need to properly sit down and watch Dr. who
superwholock in general is great, but I don't really feel like mentioning spn and Sherlock because of all the queerbating and homophobia surrounding the shows. (sherlock's amazing though)
i know you asked for five, but one day at a time is SUCH an amazing show too. it's about a latina family (grandma, mom, daughter and son) and it's so funny and really informative and just an overall fun family sitcom, but it doesn't shy away from dealing with important issues like racism, immigrant families, growing up in a three generational household, raising a teenager daughter who's a lesbian, being a military nurse and the trauma you have to deal with afterwards etc. elena is a lesbian and she's so nerdy and I just love her so much <333
