– “WAIT,” RICKY PAUSES, A STUPID SMILE ON HIS FEATURES. “ i won a PHONE ? that easy ? where were you when my phone got stolen earlier this year ? ” he says, bonking himself on the forehead like shoulda had a v8. “ this is so cool, ” he holds it up to the light before he starts tossing it back and forth in his hands carelessly. “ i don’t remember. maybe ? ” he doesn’t think he’s seen it before. “ does that mean you MADE this ? ” his jaw drops.

                       ❝ someone stole your phone ??  did you find out why ?  please tell me they didn’t try stealing your identity or anything . ❞   it must have been around the time she left — such bad timing .   ❝ i did !  or not the one you’re holding but i designed it and stuff ! ❞   she grew amused by ricky’s handling of the phone , glad he won it as it would be perfect for him .

With everything going on at campus being asked if they wanted to play a game was refreshing to say the least. Dana had tried to not let anything effect them but it was easier said than done. The stress weighing down on them but also the fact that the people around her looked so upset. It was heartbreaking and they wished more than anything that they could take away all the pain. Tilting their head to the side, crossing their arms over their chest, they then hummed. “Sure. Let’s play”

                       ❝ yay !  okay , let me just balance it on my hand ... ❞   she began to murmur the end as all her focus was placed on the action .   ❝ there we go ! ❞   once it stopped wobbling , she spun the wheel and kept a close eye as it stopped on the large prize .   ❝ you win a whole-ass spy phone !!  you can keep it or sell it , just make sure you sell it to a spy or i’ll get in trouble , ❞   as she spoke , she dug through her prize bag and handed the glass phone to dana .   ❝ there’s a little hidden compartment on the side for sd cards , it’s just under the power button . ❞

      𝚜𝚑𝚎  𝚙𝚒𝚟𝚘𝚝𝚜  𝚘𝚗  the  ball  of  her  foot  to  face  the  other  .  and  before  chantal  has  a  chance  to  get  a  word  in  ,  kiki  is  already  explaining  .  “  so  what  you’re  telling  me  is  that  it’s  two  dollars  for  the  first  spin  and  if  i  re-spin  that’s  an  extra  dollar  .  ”  she  playfully  eyes  the  wheel  .  “  can  i  get  a  hint  as  to  what  the  prizes  are  ?  ”

                       ❝ actually , your first spin is free ! ❞   she gave chantal a pair of finger guns , momentarily using her upper part of her arm to hold the wheel before balancing it back on the palm of her hand .    ❝ hmm , normally i’d charge a dollar for a hint but i’ll give you one for free .  the largest prize is the phone i made . ❞   she playfully brought the wheel closer to chantal so she could play .

                       ❝ i don’t think so but i heard if you slip the coat check attendants a ten , they’ll take shoes .  wanna test out the theory ? ❞

     “you think there is a shoe check in or something?” raina says, nose wrinkling as she shifts from foot to foot. “because my feet are killing me, i’m really close to just going back to my dorm to get flats.”

                               most of her time is spent on the stranger, wondering how some people are to just scamper up to strangers and rope them into conversing. she wonders what would happen if she just walked away right now, but the wheel is of interest, her gaze finally falling to what she’s explaining. ‘   i don’t have any cash on me.   ’ and a two dollar e-transfer would raise suspicion with her dad. ‘   can you let me play for free ?   ’ she’d like to win, and assumes everyone at this school is rich anyways.

                       ❝ oh yeah !  it’s free to play , you just have to pay if it lands on this yellow section , ❞   she pointed at the corresponding shade ,   ❝ but let’s see what you win !! ❞   she spun the wheel and cheered once it landed on medium prize .   ❝ you won a pair of wireless earphones ! ❞

“okay, so no carnival rules, got it.” because those are famously rigged and have made her generally distrustful of those types of games. jas kneels down with her. “oh, got it! that sounds fair, then. do you make a lot of money playing this with people?” she teases. suddenly she wishes she was in possession of some american $2 bills. “a real phone?!” her mind immediately conjures up an image of the kind that you use to blow bubbles. jas flicks the spinner (????) realizing it’s been a while since she’s done something like this.

                       ❝ nah , i’ve only made a dollar cause someone wanted to upgrade their prize but the wheel’s been nice lately . ❞   just as she finished speaking , the wheel stopped spinning and she turned her attention to where it landed .   ❝ small prize ! ❞   she took out a canvas bag that had the logo of the company she works for .  as she handed it to jas , kiki gave her a mischevious smile ,   ❝ if you play again for a dollar you can upgrade your prize . ❞
