Owen is just thinking about how he can leave early without having Aylin call him out for it later on. Even if no one is paying attention to him he still feels like the elephant in the room. “Do you, uh, did you want to sit here?” He asks the person that seems to be heading his way.

“does this count as a concert?” ting asks as she takes a break to get a glass of water. “if so it is my first one ever.” she finally takes in the person she’s talking to. “you look very nice! this is an interesting gala theme.”

                       never one to turn down a photo , she happily obliged until a brilliant idea came to her ,   ❝ oh , wait ! ❞   she quickly turned so most of her back was facing the camera and peaked behind ,   ❝ gotta get my wings in the shot ! ❞   she was clearly very proud of her work .

                       ❝ wait , what happened ?? ❞   she clearly had no idea what had happened during her time away .   ❝ when you say microchips , do you mean in us or like around the campus ?  should i start making tiktoks of keys sticking to mine ? ❞   she was joking ... mainly joking .

But I have never found interest in that” Dana said and shook their head. “It’s rather funny due to where I study” they shrugged. “Oh I will make sure to get a good price for this.                        ❝ oh my gosh , really ??  we totally have to watch one some time .  i think spy kids 2 is a great movie to start off on —  soo many cool tech things .  plus steve buscemi’s in it so you know it’ll be amazing .  plus plus he says this really iconic line that inspirational tumblrs used to use not knowing where it came from and it was beautiful . ❞   she wiped away a few invisible tears , kylie jenner style ,   ❝ i’m proud of you , please make bank . ❞

– “WAIT,” RICKY PAUSES, A STUPID SMILE ON HIS FEATURES. “ i won a PHONE ? that easy ? where were you when my phone got stolen earlier this year ? ” he says, bonking himself on the forehead like shoulda had a v8. “ this is so cool, ” he holds it up to the light before he starts tossing it back and forth in his hands carelessly. “ i don’t remember. maybe ? ” he doesn’t think he’s seen it before. “ does that mean you MADE this ? ” his jaw drops.

                       ❝ someone stole your phone ??  did you find out why ?  please tell me they didn’t try stealing your identity or anything . ❞   it must have been around the time she left — such bad timing .   ❝ i did !  or not the one you’re holding but i designed it and stuff ! ❞   she grew amused by ricky’s handling of the phone , glad he won it as it would be perfect for him .

          ‘  this  looks  …  ’    and  she  takes  the  wheel  from  the  other  ,   holding  it  up  to  the  sky  .    ‘  like  it’s  about  to  fall  apart  at  any  given  moment  .   quit  attempting  to  get  some  extra  cash  and  maybe  ,   invest  in  a  better  game  -  ’    suzume  says  with  a  raise  of  her  brow  ,   handing  it  back  to  the  other  .  

                       kiki didn’t expect that reaction and it caught her off guard so she did what she always did and used comedy in attempt to change the vibes ,   ❝ boooooooo !  i’m booing you !  also this game is free to plaaay — booooooooooo ! ❞

unfortunately, steve has never seen cloudy with a chance of meatballs, but he doesn’t think anything of it. he thinks it’s another one of her oddly charming quirks. “ ah, i was mostly speaking for sam and myself, ” he admits sheepishly, “ but i’m sure you’re going to be busy for the next few days, visiting everyone. ” steve often wishes he had a quarter of kiki’s social battery. “ no, no. but you do love a good prank. ” and with that, he spins the wheel. when it lands on medium prize, he is excited but his face doesn’t shift from that meme she’d shown him before. “ i guess it’s my lucky day. ”

                       ❝ true , i’m a very popular person but i’ll always have time for my favorite guys , ❞   she definitely didn’t know that many people but she wasn’t going to tear down the illusion of her being a bigwig .  she immediately laughed at his explanation ,   ❝ y’know what , that’s such a good point .  i can’t even be mad at that . ❞   the price of knowing someone for so long but it was definitely worth it .   ❝ yay !  okay , so you get wireless headphones !  i’m also gonna just give you a large prize too cause we’re friends and i make the rules of this game . ❞

      𝚜𝚑𝚎  𝚙𝚒𝚟𝚘𝚝𝚜  𝚘𝚗  the  ball  of  her  foot  to  face  the  other  .  and  before  chantal  has  a  chance  to  get  a  word  in  ,  kiki  is  already  explaining  .  “  so  what  you’re  telling  me  is  that  it’s  two  dollars  for  the  first  spin  and  if  i  re-spin  that’s  an  extra  dollar  .  ”  she  playfully  eyes  the  wheel  .  “  can  i  get  a  hint  as  to  what  the  prizes  are  ?  ”

                       ❝ actually , your first spin is free ! ❞   she gave chantal a pair of finger guns , momentarily using her upper part of her arm to hold the wheel before balancing it back on the palm of her hand .    ❝ hmm , normally i’d charge a dollar for a hint but i’ll give you one for free .  the largest prize is the phone i made . ❞   she playfully brought the wheel closer to chantal so she could play .

It had been a long time since she played a game. Everything had turned so serious and even though this was a good look into the life many people here would still pick, they were glad they would distance themselves from the spy world and continue on her journey to become a doctor. “A spy phone? I have never heard of such a thing before” she giggled. “But I will make sure to sell it to a proper spy, I promise” she quickly added. Looking at the phone, they hummed. “It’s cool looking”

                 ❝ thanks !  i tried to make it look super sleek and spy-y but in the movie sense , y’know ?  a lot of the tech we have now is uggy . ❞   which wasn’t true .  it was normal if anything but this is what she got for watching too many spy movies .   ❝ also !  you should sell it for like 1k minimum , it’s going for a bit more on the market . ❞

“Mister President, but yes,” Ruby chuckled, certain that Kiki definitely knew that and just wanted to make her jokes. She was grateful for it and the small laugh it gave her anyway. The next laugh out of her, however, was much more awkward and stumbling as she shook her hands in front of her. “No, no, god, nothing like that,” she assured quickly. “I just have an… idea for a project— something I want to build— and I was hoping you could help.”

                ❝ but madam in the sense that you’re the madam and the president’s daughter —  wait , that doesn’t make sense now that i said it out loud but it definitely did in my head . ❞   she was almost disappointed but quickly did a 180 once ruby explained .  she always enjoyed a good project .   ❝ ooh , yeah !  what did you have in mind ? ❞

“okay, so no carnival rules, got it.” because those are famously rigged and have made her generally distrustful of those types of games. jas kneels down with her. “oh, got it! that sounds fair, then. do you make a lot of money playing this with people?” she teases. suddenly she wishes she was in possession of some american $2 bills. “a real phone?!” her mind immediately conjures up an image of the kind that you use to blow bubbles. jas flicks the spinner (????) realizing it’s been a while since she’s done something like this.

                       ❝ nah , i’ve only made a dollar cause someone wanted to upgrade their prize but the wheel’s been nice lately . ❞   just as she finished speaking , the wheel stopped spinning and she turned her attention to where it landed .   ❝ small prize ! ❞   she took out a canvas bag that had the logo of the company she works for .  as she handed it to jas , kiki gave her a mischevious smile ,   ❝ if you play again for a dollar you can upgrade your prize . ❞

martinaw​: 

Wonder dawned on her face. “I love games!” Martina let her finger grazed the wheel, committing the sections to memory as the other explained them. Mid-spiel, her finger applied too much pressure, accidentally giving the wheel a premature whirl. “Whoops, sorry.” She clenched her teeth, giving Kiki the perfect mimicry of the 😬 emoji. “Did I win though?” Priorities!

                       ❝ no , you’re good !  it works out ! ❞   she watches the wheel carefully as it lands on the small prize .  however , being the terribly wingman she was , she decided to give an upgrades prize .   ❝ you got a small prize but because you’re close with my child , sam , i’ll give you the large one cause nepotism . ❞   she took out the phone from her prize bag and offered it to martina . 

thliahls​: 

                               most of her time is spent on the stranger, wondering how some people are to just scamper up to strangers and rope them into conversing. she wonders what would happen if she just walked away right now, but the wheel is of interest, her gaze finally falling to what she’s explaining. ‘   i don’t have any cash on me.   ’ and a two dollar e-transfer would raise suspicion with her dad. ‘   can you let me play for free ?   ’ she’d like to win, and assumes everyone at this school is rich anyways.

                       ❝ oh yeah !  it’s free to play , you just have to pay if it lands on this yellow section , ❞   she pointed at the corresponding shade ,   ❝ but let’s see what you win !! ❞   she spun the wheel and cheered once it landed on medium prize .   ❝ you won a pair of wireless earphones ! ❞

“No clues on what the types of prizes are?” Parker clarified. Of course he went straight to trying to figure out the odds of actually getting something worthwhile… Because time was money friends! Then again, would he ever miss two dollars? Not really. “Alright, you know what, I’ll give it a go.”

                       ❝ hmm , i’ll give you a clue for a dollar . ❞   she wished she could say she was joking but that was simply not the case .   ❝ bet ! ❞   she balanced the wheel on her head this time ,   ❝ okay , spin when you’re ready ! ❞

a white corset dress that sparkles with every step and angel wings sewn to the back straps ; her hair waved and worn in a half bun , fashioned with a halo crown ; a soft, magenta lip paired with shimmering eyeshadow to accompany the shine in her dress

                       ❝ madam president’s daughter ?? ❞   was the first thing blurted , always failing to read a room .   ❝ go for it !  as long as it isn’t unalive’ing someone or illegal , i’ll probably do it . ❞   she turned herself so ruby’s body guard wouldn’t see her face and gave a very exaggerated wink to her friend .

“Kiki, I’m so glad you’re back,” Ruby smiled, the gesture genuine despite all the harrowing events of the past couple of months. She was frazzled, for sure, but the anxiety on her mind was outweighed by the need to find an answer to a question. “I swear, I do want to know how you’ve been, but I actually have a favor to ask you.”

– “HELL YEAH, I LOVE GAMES,” RICKY SAYS WITHOUT A SECOND THOUGHT as to what it could be. he’s not too worried, anyhow, even if maybe he should be ? “ AND prizes. ” eyes light up for a moment, pulls a bunch of random change out his pocket and holds it out to her without even counting it. “ alright, let me try. ”  

                          her smile grew , thoroughly enjoying ricky’s excitement .   ❝ hold on to your money , we don’t know know if you’ll owe me or not , ❞   she began , spinning the wheel and watching it land on large prize .  she gave her friend a cheer ,   ❝ yay !  you win a phone ! ❞   she took the devise out of her bag and handed it to him .   ❝ i forget , were you part of the group of people who tested the first version of this ? ❞

Despite how chaotic their life seemed at the moment (always) they were trying to stay on as positive of a mindset as they were able to manage. “Is this going to turn into you revealing you’re a clown on a tricycle?” They shrug, however, waiting to see what she actually has to say. “This sounds like you’ve been watching too many game shows but whatever.” Orion isn’t sure they actually have two dollars to spare so they have to hope that they don’t land on that one. 

                       ❝ ugh , i wish .  i’m not cool enough to be a clown , i don’t have the patience with kids or balloon making . ❞   she let out a sigh as she relived the time she tried learning balloon art ,   ❝ so many explosions , ❞   she added , increasing her dramatics .   ❝ oh , i definitely do .  i always wanted to be on a show but who knows if they’ll choose me . ❞   she placed the wheel on a table next to them and motioned orion to the toy , her way of signaling to spin it .

With everything going on at campus being asked if they wanted to play a game was refreshing to say the least. Dana had tried to not let anything effect them but it was easier said than done. The stress weighing down on them but also the fact that the people around her looked so upset. It was heartbreaking and they wished more than anything that they could take away all the pain. Tilting their head to the side, crossing their arms over their chest, they then hummed. “Sure. Let’s play”

                       ❝ yay !  okay , let me just balance it on my hand ... ❞   she began to murmur the end as all her focus was placed on the action .   ❝ there we go ! ❞   once it stopped wobbling , she spun the wheel and kept a close eye as it stopped on the large prize .   ❝ you win a whole-ass spy phone !!  you can keep it or sell it , just make sure you sell it to a spy or i’ll get in trouble , ❞   as she spoke , she dug through her prize bag and handed the glass phone to dana .   ❝ there’s a little hidden compartment on the side for sd cards , it’s just under the power button . ❞
