vylad and zaneās relationship is important to me because they really did love eachother. zane cared for his baby brother from the moment he met him even if he did take all of their motherās attention. zane knew vylad was a bastard but that didnāt change anything when they were young. zane taught vylad how to read since he knew father would never care to provide the bastard with such education and zane didnāt want their mother to stress over such a task. zane helped vylad learn to speak. his speech was developing slowly but zane was patient with him when all of the tutors garte hired would lash out vylad for being āincompetentā. vylad would always chase zane around, rambling about whatever insect caught his eye that day or trying to get zane to read him a new book he found. he would find pretty rocks and leave them on zaneās desk, next to all the other trinkets he had found. but zane grew older, colder and more distant. vylad didnt understand why his brother was ignoring him. he didnāt understand why zane was always in such a rush. he just wanted to talk about the baby bird he found. garteās grasp on zane grew tighter. zane no longer listened to vyladās rambling, shutting them down every time. he no longer paid attention to the pile of rocks shoved to the corner of his desk. he no longer paid attention to the insistent shadow following him around, desperate for his attention. vylad didnāt understand why zane hated him suddenly until he felt the cold metal between his bones that night. zane will always be haunted by the ghost of the brother he used to love.
she's a bard. she's a spy. she's a nun. she thinks god is talking to her. she likes shoes. she has a hairless rabbit as a pet. she broke a guy's neck with her thighs. she's the late pope best friend. she's the new pope. she's bisexual.

"I should kill myself": self-serving, reactionary
"we should all kill ourselves": building community and connection, ideologically correct
Folks, I gotta be real with you: Yes I too am disappointed that there aren't more choices carrying over in The Veilguard from the last three games, but I think the current fandom rage is a little over the top. It's not the end of the world. Can we just take a breath for a second and remember that this new game is set in Northern Thedas, where 99% of decisions made in Southern Thedas ten or more more years ago of course aren't going to matter, if you think about it? And on a meta level, I imagine the goal is to make this game as friendly as possible to brand new players, not out of spite towards existing fans.
