Golden film filters through waxed lenses, the call of the silver screen itching at the canister draped to your side. Fingers slip along freshly printed scripts, your eyes following the drop of dialogue as it floats through hallowed canals. The acceleration in tempo nudges at your brain, eyes pulling inward at the uneven flow. Your hand falls to scrunched shoulders, Jeongguk glancing up at you for confirmation.

“Cut!” Audible groans follow his edged tone, extras scurrying to first position while you step toward the center, lips pursed. 

“What is it?” You’re addressed, tone clipped, by lead actress Kyung-Soon. Her lengthy hair tosses over sharp shoulders with an icy glare. You wince at the challenge, hours spent couped tensing the assemblage. 

“Your volume was a little uneven and your pace was getting choppy near the middle of your dialogue.” You speak as Jeongguk saunters over, fingers coming to pinch the bridge of his nose, the audible scoff from the center of the floor an unwelcome precursor to unscripted dramatics. “I’m sure you’ll get it if we just take five and run it again.”

“You’ve been saying that for the past hour, I don’t know what you want from me!”

a/n: I saw a post about laundry fairy Kookie and I thought “if only he could do my laundry I’m lazy” and then my mind spiralled and this happened. Enjoy besties

You shake out the wet towel with vigour, grunting in exhaustion and squinting your eyes so you wouldn’t get any of the water in them. 

Once shaken out enough you hang it on your clothing line, you had installed on your balcony railing. 

You take the next towel, starting the whole process anew. You groan in annoyance, stopping for a moment to lean against the railing to give your aching arms a little break. 

“I hate doing laundry. It’s the devils work”, you say out loud. 

You have a habit of talking to yourself whilst doing tasks. It just makes it easier, especially doing laundry. 

Next is your oversized shirt, which you shake out twice before hanging it up on the clothing line as well.

“Like seriously can’t just some random hot guy ring my doorbell and do my laundry like in all those fabric softeners commercials?" 

The next shirt gets shaken out and hung up, all whilst your loud complaining continues. 

"I’d give my right boob for that to happen. Stupid laundry.”

You shake out your last shirt, not having seen the panties hidden in the sleeve. One aggressive shake and there you see them, flying through the air in slow motion.

“No!” you gasp, wanting to reach for them but it’s too far away. All you can do is watch them fall down and slither right onto the railing of your downstairs neighbour. 

“Seriously? Out of everything it had to be my panties?” you almost yell, staring at the pink lace hugging the metal railing in pure shock. 

Your shock however grows when you suddenly see a hand reach out for them and a moment later a bundle of dark hair appear in the frame. The bundle of hair starts to turn, any second now and you would make eye contact with your downstairs neighbour.

“Oh shit”, you hiss, ducking down before that can happen. 

“Nope, nope, nope”, you whisper, crawling back into your apartment on all fours whilst burning up in embarrassment. 

This was so close to being a total disaster. Guess you have to say goodbye to your pink panties, you sure as hell aren’t going down there to get them. You would just make a fool of yourself, especially because you have no idea who lives in the apartment downstairs. He could be a total pervert for all you know, he can keep your panties you really don’t want those back. Who knows what that psycho would do in the time it takes you to make yourself presentable and then go downstairs to ring his bell. You shudder at your own imagination. 

“Nope mission aboard, too disgusting.”

Suddenly your doorbell rings, making you flinch. You stare at it with big eyes, holding your breath. 

Is that your downstairs neighbour? This can’t be happening.

You were never too keen on blind dates. Everything about them felt…artificial. It wasn’t that you were a romantic, not especially, but you had to admit that being forced on a date by meddlesome friends took some of the magic out of dating. When Sua had mentioned a cute new boy in her class who was too busy studying to date, you had to admit the red flags began waving in your mind. Of course, you could relate. College was taxing and it was difficult to find time to even eat three meals, let alone date. Perhaps if things had cropped up organically, you’d have been more excited. But the forced union was a little cumbersome.

The nerves and the insecurity and the fear, none of it was especially fun. But Sua had been adamant that the two of you would hit it off, and with her eyes round and expectant, her brows raised, and her lips pouted, you really didn’t have any room to deny her. You figured one night of discomfort was better than months of guilt, and even though you figured things wouldn’t work out with this mystery man, you’d humor your friend. After all, making friends in college wasn’t easy.

Sunglasses are always a must when you go to the beach. How else are you going to discreetly check out people? And boy, are there guys to check out. You mentally thank your friends for changing it up and choosing a different beach than usual. You’re used to places frequented by families, and if you’re lucky sometimes there’ll be a decently attractive older brother or a sort of cute lifeguard.

The patrons of this beach can only be compared to the weather: hot, hot, hot.

You adjust your shades while you lean back on your towel. The umbrella you lie under wards off some of the heat, but you can’t help but feel a little regret at not joining your friends in the water. However, you are reluctant to give up your view of two very cute boys passing around a football.
