As You Can Tell, I Am Still Aggressively Coping With The Lack Of New Official AATC Stuff.
As you can tell, I am still aggressively coping with the lack of new official AATC stuff.
Is it crazy? Maybe a little.
But itās fun and thatās what matters.

Jay never knew why Nya pushed herself away from him like she did, and every time she looks back at the years they had, he can't help but feel somber about all that went to waste.
Could he go back and talk to Nya about why what they had faded away like a spark? Of course, he could, but maybe he could think of a moment in time where it started.
When he and her grew too far apart.
---
The first and starter of their relationship fading was at the end of Freshman year. High school was rough, and no one told the group of the upcoming drama that they would face, but they pushed through nevertheless. But at times like this when stress was high, people grow apart.
So with the stress of assignments and grades, the group grew distant in the middle of the year. So when Kai suggested that they all should hang out one day at lunch, who could say no?
Nya could refuse, and that she did.
Of course, it disappointed everyone that Nya wouldn't come and their group couldn't be whole, but in the end, Jay felt like he was the most disappointed.
Of course, Jay loved talking to the guys; they were all in sync with each other and practically brothers. But in the end, Jay loved Nya more than he loved talking to the guys.
So when he knocks on the door of the Smith residence to be met with the familiar face of Nya wearing gray sweats and a matching gray hoodie, he was surprised and confused.
The second she opened the door, and he saw her, they made eye contact for a few seconds before Nya broke it, which was never out of the usual for them when they met each other. But the conversation that followed after that is what shook him.
They stood in silence for a moment, avoiding each other's gazes before Jay decided to speak up and break the ongoing silence.
"Hey Nya!" He greeted, leaving Nya startled at the sudden sound.
"Oh... Hey Jay," she mumbled, sounding disappointed with his arrival, leaving Jay a bit empty.
Usually, when she greeted the boy, she had the same if not more energy than him. This was definitely a new and strange sight for Jay to see.
"How are you?" he asked, trying to ignore the emptiness he felt from the greeting.
But the next lines out of her mouth were even more strange.
"I'm fine, wanna come in?" she said in a hushed tone as she opened the door wider for the brunette to enter.
He didn't know why she was talking so quiet and quick to him as if she didn't want him to know anything about her. But from experience, he knew better than to question Nya and ask her what's up.
(But looking back, he should've asked)
The second he walked inside the house, however, he nearly forgot about the awkward-going conversation. The Smith residence had always been like a second home to Jay since he practically grew up there, and with its homey and warm atmosphere.
It also differed from his own home because it was safe and surrounded by a community that could help and would help if they were needed rather than living in the middle of nowhere around scraps and junk that could possibly kill you.
But the conversation soon came back to his head when Nya came in front of him to sit down on the single-person couch, pulling out her phone to do who knows what.
And he must've been standing there for quite a while because all he could hear is Nya's voice yelling at him, but muffled as if he were in a pool.
"Jay! Wake up! Your friends are waiting for you!" and that's when he felt himself wake up from his slumber underwater.
First, he looked at Nya, and saw how she was right up in his face holding her hand up and waving it.
And that's when the countless amount of questions started to float around in his head.
Your Friends? Doesn't she mean our Friends? Why isn't she even coming with us to hang out? She seems to be here just chilling like?
And that's when he said it.
"Why aren't you coming to hang out with us?" he blurted, not able to shush himself in time.
As she was in front of him, he saw her eyes widened with shock at his sudden outburst and then filled with an emotion he couldn't exactly pinpoint at all.
"I'm going to hang out with Skylor, we already made plans before Kai asked us all to hang out at lunch," she answered wearily, putting her hand down to her side.
And that made Jay's cheeks reddened in embarrassment. First, he asked an out-of-line question out of nowhere, even though he didn't want to, and then he gets the most common answer to that same question. He thought as he mentally facepalmed at his stupidity.
"Oh," he answered, "yeah, that makes sense."
"Yeah."
They stood in place like that a bit longer, the tension and awkwardness growing as Jay faked clearing his throat.
"Well, I'll get going upstairs," he says, putting a knife through the tension as he scrambled out of her way, now realizing how very close they were together.
When halfway up the stairs, he yelled goodbye to which he got no response to.
And when the group asked him why he took so long to get to Kai's house, he lied and said that the bus was running late instead of telling them of his encounter with Nya.

The second instance where Jay should've known that he and Nya's relationship was fading was when she left their shared lunch table to sit with her other friends.
In the beginning of their high school journey, they all made a unanimous decision when they picked what table they wanted to sit at. It was the table in the middle of the cafeteria with all the other tables surrounding it as if it was the sun.
When they sat at the table, they felt like they were the only ones in the cafeteria, not being able to hear anything but themselves. No drama, no hate, no nothing.
It was just them and their other friends they would occasionally invite like Skylor, Okino, and Pixal.
But there was a break in the newfound decision when Nya told them she would go sit with her other friends because Skylor invited her.
And of course, everyone was happy that she was branching out and making new friends, and even sitting with them. But Jay couldn't help but linger on her as she walked over to Skylor's table, getting situated.
The table consisted of many people Jay knew but not personally as others. Sitting there was Karloff, a boy in his math class, Skylor, one of his close friends, Shade, a guy he knew nothing about, and Tox, a girl in his gym class.
And it didn't help that the table was right in front of Jay, and he could see her laughing and talking.
And it also sucked that she didn't give him that type of look and passion she gave her other friends.
Ever since their awkward conversation from last year, they've been odd with each other. Nya didn't text Jay as much as she used to, and at lunch, she always looked half-interested when he talked.
But as Jay caught even more glances of her laughing and smiling, he couldn't help but feel happy too.
At least she was smiling.
But
Jay couldn't say that for himself because after that lunch, Nya started coming to their table less, and Jay couldn't help like there was a rip in their table, letting in a bit of hate, drama, and everything.
---
Jay dreaded lunch after Nya left.
All he saw everywhere he turned was Nya talking to her other friends like how she used to talk to them, and it hurt Jay so much.
Watching the person he used to laugh with all the time laugh with someone else was just heartbreaking.
But the pain was just even more unbearable when their other friends started talking about Nya as well at lunch.
Lunch had just started, and the guys were sitting down for a bit like they always did before they got up and got their food when the lunch line was less crowded.
And usually in moments like this, they would talk about their classes and stuff like that. But today the subject had to be Nya, and it was all Kai's fault.
"Hey Jay, did Nya ever tell you that she's leaving the mechanic club to join the marching band?" Kai asked, with eyebrows raised as he looked at Jay awaiting an answer.
Jay, on the other hand, was confused. Nya was quitting the mechanic club, surely he would've told her since they co-created this club together right?
"Uh, no she didn't tell me that," Jay muttered, confusion written all over his face as Kai just shrugged off his answer.
"Well, that's strange, but I guess that explains why she wasn't annoyed this morning," he chuckled, pushing his hair back.
"What do you mean that makes sense?" Jay cried out as Cole let out a howl.
"Jay, you sure that Nya didn't tell you? Like seriously? I thought you two were tight," Cole called out, banging his fist on the table.
"Well truth be told, we haven't been talking as much as we used to," he chuckled awkwardly, scratching the back of his neck.
"What, that's crazy, she didn't tell you about it really?" Kai exclaimed.
"You thought I was lying? We just haven't been like that." Kai sighed.
"Wait, she didn't tell you about that? I thought she would?" Lloyd jumped in, his eyes filled with confusion.
"I as well would think she would tell you," Zane admitted.
And that's when everyone started bringing up things Jay could only assume happened in the past month that he didn't know about as he shook his head to all of them.
Jay was stunned, how could he not know about all of this stuff?? Was he that disconnected to his best friend that his other friends knew more about her than he did? Were they even best friends anymore?
He didn't just dread lunch; he despised it.
---
The last big moment that flew over Jay's head was the fact that he was erased from Nya's phone.
Jay was up at night studying for finally the last test of the year before it would finally be time for him to get his high school diploma, and he was ready.
As he grabbed his cup of coffee and sipped a bit, he was startled when the phone from his pocket vibrated and startled him close to spilling his drink everywhere.
Groaning, he placed his cup down and grabbed his phone from his pocket, wondering what app could possibly be notifying him about anything at this house. But to his surprise, it was none other than Nya, which shocked Jay.
Nya and Jay haven't texted in a while; their relationship only surviving on the few interactions they've had in school and after school when their paths were combined.
So Jay being excited was to undermine what he was feeling in that moment, maybe joy or something bigger.
When Jay opened his phone and looked at the message, however, his heart dropped.
Nyyy<3: This is Jay's number right? Sorry for bothering you at this hour, I'm just looking through old contacts.
Did Nya really forget his number? She didn't even have it saved in her phone anymore? Is that why she hadn't been texting him lately? Did she really just forget about him like that.
Jay: No haha, it's fine Nya.
Nyyy<3: Glad to know! See you at school tomorrow :)
Jay: See you at school too :)
---
It was kind of pathetic to know how much hope he got from the smiley face.
Looking back at everything, he could tell which one was where everything shattered because every moment had broken a piece of him equally.
But maybe today would change everything as he jumped into his parents' old Jeep, fixing the grad hat on his head as they rode off to the school to see Jay finally graduate and move to the next stage of his life.
The ride wasn't necessarily far since the school was practically outside of his home, but Jay couldn't feel like it was forever ever since he'd seen his friends, but more specifically Nya.
After reflecting a bit, he realized something; he's been dependent on her to fix the relationship when she might not even know he was hurting because of that. He couldn't expect Nya to read his mind, so in order for him to fix his mistake, he would talk to her today and ask her if they could catch up.
When they were at school, Jay saw all of his friends (minus Nya) outside waving at him, and he practically jumped out of the car into their arms as he started sobbing about how this might be the last time they're all whole while the others shook it off as him being overly dramatic.
But that only lasted a few minutes before they entered the building to where everything would be official, and maybe the building that starts the repairing of he and Nya's relationship. He was so excited for it all today.
---
Graduation was finally over, and a bit longer than Jay thought it would be, but he was happy that he was able to spend the time with his friends and how they were all able to walk the stage (even Kai). But now there was only one thing left for him to do.
They were all outside of the school, taking pictures with their parents, first the whole group and then some duos like Lloyd and Kai, until Edna, Jay's mom, pointed something out.
"Oh, boys! Where's Nya? I really want a picture of you all and her!" His mom said in her usual cheery voice, leaving the boys to notice the absence of their friend.
But Jay took this as an opportunity to be able to talk to Nya.
"I'll go find her!" he exclaimed as he immediately started walking away to find out where Nya could be.
It was a few minutes before Jay spotted the girl. He didn't see her earlier, so he was surprised to see that she had her hair down and had makeup on as she talked to Shade with the same smile that was his smile from her.
And that's when he realized.
That smile wasn't meant for him anymore; he was replaced.
She finally moved on from Jay Walker while he still kept her close. And though he had a chance to finally fix everything between them when in reality nothing needed to be fixed, they just grew apart.
They just grew apart.
He glanced at her again and decided something; he may not be her Jay Walker, but she will always be his Nya Smith, and he'll wait many centuries just for her to call him hers again.
He walked away from them and went back to the group, lying that he hadn't seen her, and he knew he uppsetted his mother, but he was doing a Nya a favor.
She definetly needed a break from him.

You gotta read wips. You gotta read stories that have been abandoned or haven't been updated in weeks, months, years. You have to give a story a chance even on the chance it never gets finished. The biggest reason besides personal stuff for a story to get abandoned is the lack of engagement. A comment is sometimes all it needs for a new chapter, even years later. Read that wip from 2017 that never saw the final chapter. Leave a comment that you loved it. Subscribe to the story. Sometimes you need to appreciate the things that never got finished, and perhaps make an author's day that someone loved their story despite that. Comment on wips. Comment on every chapter. It makes a difference.
