For 130 years a giant tree-like stump had baffled paleontologists. Was it a plant, an alga, a lichen or something entirely different? A fossil dug up in Saudi Arabia gave the last word in a new study – it was a humongous fungus.

A fungus called Prototaxites towered more than 24 feet (8m) over most of the land plants of the Silurian Period and was as much as three feet (1m) wide.

Exhibiting artists include: Allie Strom, Andrew Kolb, Anissa Espinosa, Annie Stegg, Ashley Mackenzie, Babs Tarr, Bill Robinson, Brendan Merien, Carrie Liao, Clio Chiang, Corinne Reid, Cory Godbey, Cuddly Rigor Mortis, Elsa Chang, Eva Vilhelmiina, Felt Mistress, Heather Franzen, Helen Chen, Jackie Huang, Jackie Huang, Jen Bartel, Juliaon Roels, Justin Gerard, JAW Cooper, Leonardo Santamaria, Manddy Wyckens, Marguerite Sauvage, Natalie Hall, Nicole Gustafsson, Oliver Akuin, Pauline Merlaut, Rich Pellegrino, Rovina Cai, Tara Nicole Whitaker, Tiffany Le, Trung Nguyen, Vanesa R Del Rey, Yewon Park and Yohan Sacré.
