This Is What Im Thinking Too!!
This is what Iām thinking too!!
Shermie had to be the older brother aka firstborn that moved out and went on his own before the whole drama of Stan getting kicked out of the house. If we take into account the relationship between firstborns and strict parents (especially Filbrick), it would make sense he chose to part ways from the family.
As for the baby their mom was holding, I originally thought that was just another baby she had recently but it makes more sense she would be babysitting for a friend of hers.
my PERSONAL HEADCANON is that Shermie is an older brother of Stan and Ford and that baby in A Tale of Two Stanās is just a kid that their mom was babysitting for a friend or something

Oop, sorry my bad! Now that I relistened to it, he didnāt stop stimming after the name drop. Thatās on me and my frazzled brain (and the transcripts) but I still stand by my other points! Most likely heās using a full fake name, but having that professor title could also be a āhidden-in-plain-sightā hint for Sherlock.
Fellow Sherlock and Co fans, I have crazy theory based on what we learned from the latest episode (SPOILERS for Shoscombe Old Place Pt. 2!!)
So three things I loved about the episode:
1. John views Baker Street as home to him more than his actual hometown (just a sweet thing that made my heart gushš„°)
2. Sherlock went on a tangent about how all bodies of water meet their ends, whether itās a sea, a lake, or a WATERFALL!
3. Professor James Moriarty was canonically mentioned in the show right after the waterfall reference!
BUT, the key thing Iām piecing together is that he is a professor as in someone who would work at a COLLEGE, and I remember that it was mentioned in Gloria Scott that Sherlock exposed a principal at his college for a huge scandal he committed; really important to know that this guyās life was DESTROYED because of Sherlockās detective skills.
This may be a huge stretch, but this is what my brain pieced together:
1. The principalās life was ruined by (mostly himself, but in his mind he would blame) Sherlock. He literally cried in a fetal position in Sherlockās dorm!
2. Sherlock stops his hand stimming when John mentions Professor James Moriarty in the shoutouts yet says nothing.
3. Why would a random Professor James Moriarty want to mention his full name in the shoutouts, including his job title, and that heās ālistening intently to every wordā? Why not just say āJamesā like every other shoutout name and say that he loves the podcast?
So my crazy theory is this: Professor James Moriarty is actually the PRINCIPAL that Sherlock ruined the life of! Either heās lying about the professor title or he had to work up to be a professor after he got fired from the college and needed to work up some high title such as being a professor to fix his reputation; it works, considering itās still in that familiar education field he worked up to. Either way, heās been listening to the podcast and waited until now to let Sherlock know that heās thereā¦
What do yāall think? Is this truly crazy brain rot, or do you see the connections?

Congrats @paperleef for getting your amazing art to represent the next Sherlock & Co case: The Three Students!
Iāve already read the acd canon story for this case, but Iām excited to see what the podcast does for this one!
Iām trying to get into more romance novels, but itās hard narrowing down ALL the options! Any recommendations?? If it helps, Iām currently reading Love & Other Words by Christina Lauren and Iām loving the wholesome love story with all the cozy vibes!
One last thing: please, any book rec but Colleen Hoover, Iām tired of seeing those books EVERYWHERE and I have no interest in reading them at all!!
The Lion's Mane Pt. 2 (SPOILERS)
Alright part 2 notes, letās jump in!
Oooh, Fjaraās got a small-town myth! I like it when towns have local legends and history that theyāre proud to talk about, like when certain towns are known for famous cryptids!
Same John, I too would react the same way about whiskey (Iāve never even had it)
Once again, I love hearing John go into the logistics of injuries the victims acquired before they died by just examining them. Always here for the Dr. Watson content!
Sherlock wants to go in a submersible! Great that he had a pamphlet ready to goĀ
3,000 POUNDS?! Sherlock, Mariana has every right to not find that ālovelyā!
Sherlock: āWhat are you afraid of?ā, John: āDeathā¦sharksā; of course youād say that John you Jaws fan
Maudeās family is quite a powerful empire on the islandā¦interesting
Sherlock with his trousers rolled up walking around the rock pools holding a childrenās bucket and shovel is fan art I need to see NOW (itās like Sherlock in the swing all over again)
Sherlock: āEven a best friend isnāt immune from a physical assaultā, oh shit John watch your back I guess
John and Mariana freaking out about making up a story on the fly is hilarious
Interesting how Mariana would, in some way, believe in the myths. Her and I both have the same fascination with how people in ancient history would use legends and myths to explain the unknown before they did their research and found their answers!Ā
And a VERY dramatic cliffhanger to finish off the episode!
Okay, now weāre getting somewhere with the case! Very much a full investigation episode, getting all the facts about the island and the people around it. Interesting how Maudeās family has a much bigger part in the whole case, yet you can tell that she genuinely wants answers for what happened to Harry. Speaking of answers, we wonāt get those until the last part next week! Stay tuned
The Lionās Mane Pt. 1 (SPOILERS)
Alright, here are my notes!
1. Starting off with some beautiful angelic music, mixed with coastal ambience (be still, my Californian heartš)šāØ
2. Maude is a cutie!! Sheās so fr for gushing about meeting the Sherlock & Co trio irl. I love her Scottish accent!
3. Speaking of Scotland, I was SO EXCITED to hear that this whole case is gonna take place in Scotland!! I just love Scotland and would love to go in the future, so any content about that Iāll take it!š“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æš“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æš“ó §ó ¢ó ³ó £ó “ó æ
4. John: āIāll make sure this chat is lightā Sherlock: *talking to Maude* āLETāS TALK ABOUT YOUR HUSBANDāS CORPSE, HOW THICK WAS THE BLOOD??ā oh Sherlockš
5. Really cool background info for Maude and the town of Fjara! It really lays out the kind of place weāll (John, Sherlock, Mariana, and yes us listeners) be exploring.
6. John sang āChasing Waterfallsā while brushing his teeth again. Last time he did that was in Silver Blaze Pt. 2. I didnāt think much of it before until Shoscombe Old Place Pt. 2 had Sherlock mention waterfalls and Moriarty getting a canon shoutout by Johnā¦oh God itās so forebodingā¦I love itš
7. Oh no John, why??? Why did you have to say that out loud to Sherlock and Mariana?? Now youāll never hear the end of it from them (especially not from Mariana)!
8. Speaking of Mariana, sheās a Harry Potter nerdš¦šŖ! I used to be one as well, so I loved their full argument about Quidditch with John and Sherlock saying itās ārubbishā (theyāre not wrong, thoš)
9. I just loved the small quiet scene with John talking to the microphone while everyone else was asleep. Itās so peaceful listening to his voice and even his yammering is so philosophical. It felt like a pure āstream-of-thoughtsā moment that some people have had while traveling far away to someplace new (at least I have) šāØ
10. Mariana borrowed the mic while John was asleep!!
11. Local: āoh yeh these waters be DANGEROUS, hereās a list of all the possible dangers: razor sharp rocks, darkness, strong tides, and freezing coldāā¦um sir we just met, why do we need to know how dangerous the waters are?????
12. And the episode closes off with the same beautiful music from the beginning!š„°š„°
Overall:
- Iām excited for this case! I wasnāt expecting too much to happen in Pt. 1 since I knew it would be mainly a āintroduce case, travel to locationā kind of episode. But honestly what a strong start to it! I saw on the website for transcripts that weāre gonna be getting three parts for this case, so yeah Iāll be super excited when those come out!!
Until next week!š
