"Forgive me, but I'm going to have to go animated on this one," Shiro laughed quietly, they needed an escape from hostility and war. He leaned his head against Keith for a moment while they talked, taking in the absolute bliss that was relaxing.

The ATLAS hummed with life outside the door, but in here it was just the two of them, sitting on Keith's bed, a blanket over their laps, and soon to be a movie projected onto the holoscreen. This was it, this was peace. This was what he'd been looking for.

Once the movie had started, Shiro put his head back against Keith, relaxing and allowing the tension of the days to melt away even if only briefly. He'd opted to be without the prosthetic arm - it had needed to charge - and it felt strange to be seen without it. His body ached, but it was a dull hum beneath the peace that flooded the room.

Keith's brow knitted together in concern as the handgun was pointed in his direction. He held his hands up in defense, and once steady breath became forced and short.

"Mark..? Come on, baby, we can talk about this."

He tried to keep a level head, tried to keep the tears that burned in their eyes at bay. They took a half step forward, hesitant.

"It's me, Markus. Honey, it's firefly. I know you're in there...come back to me, bear."

Keith curled up in a ball with his data pad, watching the chaos unfold. "Oh this is good."

“No no no, this can’t be right. You shouldn’t be here.”

Only catching the tail end of the sentiment as he stepped out of Black's mouth, Keith quirked a brow at Mark. "I go where I'm needed, and the old gal determined we were needed here...and I'm inclined to agree. What do you need?" He kept his tone level, even, formal. Now wasn't the time for pleasantries.

He adjusted the chest piece of his uniform and situated himself in front of Mark, face to face, nearly eye to eye.

"I can leave, but I won't like it."
