"No, no, no," Keith pleaded, tears threatening to break the dams he'd constructed in his eyes - he didn't cry, yet here he was, a sobbing mess. "Please, Mark! It's me, bear..." His voice broke, a sob tearing from his throat like a war cry.

"No, just cold hearted," Keith snapped back, eyes fierce. He flipped the dagger in his hands end over end, catching it by the hilt each rotation. A dangerous trick, but one he'd come to master over time. It had resulted in many a slice in the past.
"What's got you concerned whether or not I have a heart, Hero?"
Shiro couldn't help but wrap his arm around Keith, cuddling closer to close the gaps. This was what he was fighting for, moments like this, moments of peace and shared solitude. He sighed contentedly, the movie filling the room with an air of whimsy and happiness. It reminded him of something, something he couldn't quite put his finger on.
A low hum came from somewhere deep in his chest at one of the songs, it struck a chord with him, ringing in his head with some long repressed memory. He knew that song...his mother used to sing it to him when he was just a kid. Hearing it now brought tears to his eyes, stinging and threatening to spill.
