i usually don't have enough tools to actually do this lol, but here's my prefered loadout: 1- sword 2- axe 3- pickaxe (fortune, silk touch is in the back of my inventory) 4- water bucket** 5- torches** 6 through 8- empty* 9- food (preferably bread or cooked salmon)

*if i have any other tools im using atm, ill put them in my empty slots **and move my water bucket and torches down, after said tools (yes this is an overly complicated system, but it makes me happy)
