After you guys had gotten together, Scaramouche had given you permission to order around his subordinates like dogs. Sometimes, he thought they listened to you more than him. They clearly recognized you as their leader too, maybe as more of leader than himself. It was kind of really annoying.

The reason for this should be obvious at this point.

Secretly, even though he always looked offended when you did that, but inside, and he will never ever admit this out loud because the ground would open up and swallow him whole from embarrassment: he kind of liked being bossed around by you.

"There better not be a next time that you say that you are stupid. I won't stand for it. If you ever feel the disgusting need to call yourself stupid again, please call one of my subordinates stupid instead."

That way it would be true. Because they were pretty stupid.
