SAG-AFTRA IS STRIKING AGAIN

This time, for video games.

Some key information:

They are striking so all performers will have protection against AI

The struck companies are those signed to the Interactive Media Agreement

The listed companies by SAG-AFTRA include Activision Productions Inc, Blindlight LLC, Disney Character Voices Inc, Electronic Arts Productions Inc, Formosa Interactive LLC, Insomniac Games Inc, Llama Productions LLC, Take 2 Productions Inc, VoiceWorks Productions Inc and WB Games Inc. Though this may not be everyone.

Important things from the FAQ:

Some games from struck companies are non-struck (due to the Collective Bargaining Agreement still being in effect)

Localisations will be affected if covered under the Interactive Localization Agreement

Actors who are part of SAG-AFTRA cannot work for non-union or independent/low-budged productions during the strike unless they are signed to an Interim Interactive Media Agreement, Interim Interactive Localization Agreement or a Tiered-Budget Independent Interactive Media Agreement

Similarly to the previous strike, struck work cannot be promoted. This includes accepting awards for performances in struck games. This does NOT include hosting/performing a skit at an awards show and San Diego Comic Con (the latter due to the close proximity to the calling of the strike)

As implied by the point above, SAG-AFTRA performers cannot partake in panels related to struck games or companies, including finished games produced by struck companies

The best way to check if a game is struck is to use the search tool provided by SAG-AFTRA

Most importantly: You are NOT being asked to stop playing video games, as highlighted in the FAQ for creators and streamers. This does NOT cross the picket line. Though please do talk about the strike and show your solidarity

I expect to see the same amount of support from y'all that we saw in the last strike. Just because it's video games doesn't mean performers deserve any less support and protection.

I imagined Butch Lesbian Solas a week ago and she has possessed my mind ever since. So we've got concept art inspo and canon inspo.

I see why Solas is how he is. If they'd made him a woman he'd be simply too powerful.

I'm a bit of a trollop for angst BUT....I want our romance with Solas to bite us in the ass in Dreadwolf.

I want companions like Dorian to ultimately come to the conclusion Solas cannot be redeemed and he is unable to trust his best friend to make rational decisions regarding Solas when the whole world hangs in the balance. Their friendship begins to crack beneath the weight of her stubborn love.

I want the Inquisition, or whatever is left of it, to try and hush rising rumours that the Dreadwolf and the Inquisitior were intimate. Because the public are turning on the Inquisitior FAST. Finding out she was bedding the one who wants to destroy Thedas? The racism and sexism are more prevalent than ever. Public officials speak out that Lavellan can't be trusted. Graffiti on the buildings depicting "dreadwolf's whore" in crude writing and just HORRIBLE things that Lavellan can't stomach seeing. Their enemies taking full advantage of these rumours and destroying the reputation the Inquisitior had built in her fight for Corypheus.

I want Mythal or one of the Evanuris to also find out. The Dreadwolf had a lover? A mere mortal elf? The Evanuris FINALLY have something to use against Fen'harel. They target her, trying to kidnapp or downright murder her. Mythal managing to keep Solas on a tight leash reminding him she knows about Lavellan and she did drink from the Well of Sorrows.

I want to see how Lavellan cannot sleep because Solas might be tracking their movements or learning information when he follows her through dreams. Or how she's obsessively sleeping just to try and see him, talk to him, beg him to change his mind.

Yeah I want - no I NEED IT to have repercussions

Random Solavellan angst idea that I'll prob never use:

The crimson was soaking into the mud. Lavellan wasn't sure when the rain started. She could barely feel the droplets on her face. The deep gash to her abdomen was visible through her torn armour, seeping bright red blood.

There was no pain anymore, washed away with the rain. The noise of the battle field was like she was listening through water. Suddenly she was jostled as someone lifted her. She thought she could hear someone calling her but they sounded so far away. She forced her eyes to focus.

Solas stared down at her, eyes wide and face twisted like he was in pain. She tried to sit up but her strength was failing her.

Oh.

She was dying, wasn't she?

Her thoughts seemed to clear as Solas tried desperately to heal her. She could faintly feel the warm glow of his magic.

"Your magic can't heal this..."

"Vhenan, don't." His voice was rough and broken, and she wasn't sure if it was the rain or if he was crying.

Her fingers twitched to wipe them away but couldn't will her arms to move.

"Vhenan, please... stay." He looked so much like the broken man who had left her that evening in Crestwood. Yet his words were so different now.

Lavellan tried to smile for him.

"I wish I could Vhenan... I wanted..." her breath trembled. "I wanted one last dream with you..."
