The most homoerotically charged scene in the Death Note franchise is not the feet washing scene you guys, you freaks and fools, it’s this moment from the musical
commissioned songs tier list!! <3

dai dai daiKIRAi
instead of artfighting im drawing death note fanart. sigh
artist's notes under the cut:
obviously this is a redraw of that one panel where matsuda attempts murder. but this is also a reference to the song "I Hate You" ("Dai Dai Daikirai") by Dennoko-P. that song is matsuda's thoughts on light after the yellowbox warehouse confrontation fight me
the colored text is the exact title of the song, with "kirai" being written "キライ" (katakana) when the "proper" way to write it is "嫌い" (kanji)
"Kira" is usually written in katakana in Death Note. I found an opportunity to make a pun and I took it. Most of the phrase is colored yellow, Matsuda's theme color, while the "kira" in "kirai" is colored red, Light's theme color.
In the drawing itself, Matsuda's colors have mostly a yellow base, while Light's colors have mostly red. The more I look at this the more I think I could've done better but oh well
