Blindly feeling around the other side of the bed in search of Namjoon, you let out a disappointed sigh when you open your eyes only to find you’re alone. You sit up, staring blankly at the clock that reads 7:00am. You often wake up around this time because Namjoon has to leave early for work and even though he’s not here right now, you’ve already grown accustomed to his schedule and it was nearly impossible to fall back asleep without him by your side.
Due to their approaching comeback, Namjoon has been staying at the dorms for the sake of convenience. You understood how busy they were and although it was completely logical for him to stay with the rest of the boys, you haven’t seen him in a few days and you were starting to really miss him.
You always wonder if he’s getting enough rest and if he’s eating well. You know Jin, Yoongi and Hoseok take great care of the boys, but they don’t have time to cook while they’re preparing for a comeback. And although they’re grown men that are capable of taking care of themselves and they have a team of staff to take care of them, you can’t help but worry.
You decide to cook some food and bring it to the company building to surprise them and make sure they’re all doing well. After all, there’s nothing like a home-cooked meal. Throwing the blanket off your body and placing your feet on the floor, you make your way to the kitchen, already thinking about what ingredients you have and what you can make.
When you finish making everything, you smile proudly at your hard work before packing it all up and by the time you finally get in the car and start driving over to HYBE, it’s already late afternoon. Arriving at the company building, you struggle to carry all the bags of food as you hurriedly knock on the door to their practice room. Looking up at the sound of you knocking, Jimin lets out an excited gasp when he spots you standing in the doorway. “Y/n!” he exclaims as he moves from his spot to help you but Jungkook beats him to it, racing towards you and gladly taking the food from your hands.
Everyone comes over to welcome you and help carry all the bags. “You brought food? You’re the best!” Jin smiles as he ruffles your hair. You playfully swat his hand away as Hoseok appears beside Jin, trying his best to smooth down your hair that Jin just messed up before taking the last bag from your hand. As the boys unpack the food, you approach Namjoon who’s standing off to the side deep in thought.
You pull him into a hug, nuzzling into his chest affectionately but he simply pats your back a few times before stepping back. You furrow your brows at his strange behaviour, tugging on his sleeve lightly to stop him from walking away. “Is everything okay?” you ask gently. He nods at you but you’re not convinced. “Are you sure?” you keep pressing, “You can talk to me.”
You know how as the leader, he sometimes feels the need to shoulder all his burdens alone, but you didn’t want him to feel that way with you.“I just,” he pauses as he lets out a deep exhale, “I just need some space.” He tries to word it in the nicest way possible but he doesn’t miss the hurt expression that flashes across your face. “Oh,” you let out but you’re quick to cover your hurt and disappointment with a smile, “Of course. Let me know if I can help, okay?” He simply nods before turning his back to you and walking towards the rest of the members.
It stings a bit when your own boyfriend seems to be the least excited one in the room to see you. There was no reason to be hurt, you try to convince yourself as you trail behind Namjoon, he was simply communicating himself and his needs. As everyone settles into a circle on the floor around the food, you sit down next to Namjoon, trying to make simple conversation. When he asked you for space, you thought that he just didn’t want to talk about whatever was bothering him and he would be fine to spend some time together before he had to go back to practicing.
But he simply lets out a sigh when you ask him how practice is going before reaching for some food, completely ignoring your question. You frown, feeling hurt by the way he brushes you off but you try to act unaffected. Missing his touch, you wrap your arms around his torso as you lean into his side, expecting him to wrap an arm around your shoulders like he usually does. But to your surprise, he brings a hand between you two to create some distance. “Didn’t I ask you to give me some space? You’re so clingy sometimes,” his mouth immediately snaps shut, instantly regretting his words but he knows he can’t take them back.
But you miss the regret in his eyes as you stare down at your lap, sheepishly apologizing. Everyone immediately takes notice of how your face drops and you suddenly become quiet. They’ve all had their moments where they’ve said some things they don’t mean. But they know that no matter how much Namjoon tries to push you away, the one he needs the most right now is you and they can only hope he doesn’t push you too far.
You were hurt by how unaffected by the distance he seemed to be and how it seemed as though he wanted to be away from you. It was so hard to hold yourself back since you’ve never had to before and because you’ve been away from each other for so long. But his words and the cold tone he used towards you act as a harsh reminder that stops you from slipping up again. Trying your best to muster a smile, you stand from your spot on the floor.
“Are you leaving already?” Hoseok pauses mid-chew. “But you always eat with us,” Yoongi comments, subtly trying to convince you to stay. “I ate before I got here so it’s okay,” you lie but they can see right through you. “But y/n,” Taehyung whines, looking up at you with pleading eyes. “Why don’t you stay? We’re almost done and after practice, we can watch a movie or something,” Jungkook suggests. Although you know being alone with your negative thoughts probably won’t do you any good right now, you’re hesitant to accept the offer.
But the pleading glances and puppy dog eyes they send your way convince you to stay. Nodding in agreement, they all let out cheers of excitement before they start shovelling food into their mouths, trying to finish sooner so they can head back to the dorms to spend time with you. You laugh at their eagerness, telling them to slow down or else they’ll choke.

When practice for the day is over, the maknaes are quick to drag you out of the room, yelling over their shoulders for their Hyungs to hurry up. Sitting next to you in the car, they seem to be competing for who can make you laugh and smile the most, but you’re grateful as they don’t even give you a chance to feel sad. Walking into the dorms laughing and joking with the boys, they tell you to make yourself comfortable as they race up the stairs to take a quick shower and change into something comfier.
About 15 minutes later, you hear footsteps padding down the stairs before Hoseok rounds the corner, “Y/n?” You turn to find him walking into the living room with a sweatshirt in his hands. “Here. The house is kind of chilly,” he says as he extends the sweatshirt to you. You take it gratefully, slipping it on and snuggling into the soft fabric. It wasn’t the same as Namjoon’s sweaters as it was lacking his comforting warmth and scent but you were grateful nonetheless.
Everyone makes their way downstairs looking extremely comfy in their pajamas. Sitting on the other couch across the room from you, Namjoon can’t help but smile fondly as he looks at you and the maknae line piled up on one couch. Watching you interact with all his members, he knows there’s no one else better for him than you. You cared for them just as you cared for him and he felt comforted knowing that you would always be well taken care of, if not by him then by them and vice versa.
He was in a sour mood earlier when he snapped at you but he’s in a significantly better mood after being surrounded by all of you simply relaxing and having fun. But as the movie plays, the exhaustion from being awake since early morning starts to set in and you have to fight to keep your eyes open. Noticing you nodding off, Namjoon moves to take you to bed but he stops when your head falls on Jungkook’s shoulder. Jungkook looks down at you when he feels a weight on his shoulder, wrapping an arm around you to steady you when he notices you’re asleep.
Namjoon can’t help but frown as he stares at you, wearing Hoseok’s sweatshirt and cuddling into Jungkook’s side. He trusted all of you completely but he couldn’t deny that seeing you like this bothered him. He was your boyfriend. He was the one that you were supposed to go to when you needed something; a sweater to keep you warm or a shoulder to lean on. Getting up from the couch, Namjoon walks over to you and Jungkook, placing one arm underneath your back and the other hooked under your knees. The maknae simply shrugs as Namjoon carries you away, immediately turning his attention back to the television screen.
Climbing up the stairs as quietly as he can with you in his arms, Namjoon nudges the bedroom door open with his foot before walking into the room. You let out a soft noise of complaint, peeking one eye open. “Sorry, did I wake you?” he asks as he gently places you down, keeping his hands on your hips. You shake your head as you rub at your eyes. “Go get ready for bed,” he pats you on the hip a few times, gently urges you towards the bathroom. Obeying without much complaint, you make your way into the connected bathroom and do your night routine before returning to the bedroom.
Walking back into the room, you stop in front of Namjoon who’s sitting on the edge of the bed with one of his sweatshirts in his hands. Wordlessly, he lifts your arms up, pulling Hoseok’s sweater over your head before slipping his own over you. Once he’s done, he pulls you down onto his lap, rolling the two of you over so you’re laying on your sides. You snuggle into his chest as he pulls the covers over the both of you, opting to stay quiet as the last time you tried to ask what was wrong, it didn’t go too well.
Understanding that you probably aren’t keen on talking since he shut you down last time, he takes it upon himself to speak first. “I’m sorry for snapping at you earlier. I didn’t mean to call you clingy, I was just stressed but I thought I could handle it on my own so I pushed you away,” he explains, making sure to communicate himself properly this time. Your gaze softens as you see the guilt and regret in his eyes. “Do you want to talk about it?” you ask as you raise a hand to gently stroke his cheek.
He places his hands over yours, leaning his face into your hand. He closes his eyes, shaking his head, “I just want to hold you for a while.” Smiling softly at him, you place a kiss on his lips before wrapping your arms around his torso and cuddling into his chest. “I’ll always be here for you, as long as you want,” you tell him. Tightening his hold on you, he whispers, “Then I guess you’ll be here forever.”

That’s a good question 🤔 I’m not 100% sure yet, some members could be receiving silent treatment and some could be giving but I’m leaning more towards oc receiving the silent treatment

the calm before the storm
Summary: a heated argument between you and Taehyung leads to him walking out in the middle of a terrible storm. What happens when he doesn’t answer any of your texts or calls and you can no longer just sit around and wait for him?

an: for my lovely P anon! sorry it took me so long to get this out but I hope this is the kind of angst you were hoping for! thank u for requesting! 💜

Singing happily to yourself as you move around the kitchen, you smile proudly as you plate the Japchae you just made for Taehyung. He has been working in his room all day so you decided to make one of his favourite foods knowing he wouldn’t be able to resist. You know how busy he is so you were trying to kill two birds with one stone, hoping to feed him his Japchae so you can make sure he’s eating properly while also spending some time with him.
Playing some music, you got to work cooking one of his favourite dishes and baking some sweets in case he craved something sweet after his meal. You started around noon and had finished just around time for a late lunch. Unable to contain your excitement, you couldn’t wait to see Taehyung’s reaction when you brought him all the food, knowing how much he appreciated your cooking, especially when he was swamped with work.
Heading to his room with the plate as well as a glass of water, you push his door open with your hip since your hands are full. You open your mouth, about to surprise him by announcing that you made his favourite food but he beats you to it. “Get out!” his voice booms loudly, effectively halting your actions as you freeze in surprise. You’ve never heard Taehyung raise his voice at you like that and your body reacts before your mind can even register what’s happening.
Hastily stepping back and standing outside his room with wide eyes, you hear him get up and walk towards the door before closing it in your face. Shocked, you stand outside his room, staring at the door as your mind tries to process what just happened. But as you continue to stare at his door, you hear him apologizing, but not to you. “Sorry guys, it was just a staff member. I forgot we had something today so they came to call me because I’m late. I guess time flies by when I’m with ARMY!” he lies smoothly.
Your eyes widen as you realize he was live. You knew not to interrupt him during lives for obvious reasons and had you known he was live, you never would’ve gone near his room. But you didn’t know. He always made sure to let you know so situations like these never happened, but maybe it had slipped his mind this time.
Successfully defusing all the questions about you, Taehyung says his goodbyes before ending the live with a deep sigh. Running a frustrated hand through his hair, he gets up and leaves his room in search of you. “Y/n!” his voice booms through the house as he goes down the stairs to find you sitting at the kitchen island waiting for him. “What the hell was that?” he asks angrily as he stalks towards you.
You gulp as you turn to face him, feeling small under his intense gaze. “I’m sorry, I didn’t know you were live-” you try to explain yourself but he cuts you off. “You think a ‘sorry’ is going to fix this? Stop trying to make excuses for your carelessness! What if your face was in the frame?” he goes off on an angry tangent. “Tae you didn’t tell me you were going live! How was I supposed to know?” you start to raise your voice as well, hurt that he was pushing all the blame on you when he was just as responsible.
You admit that it was a mistake, but you had no intention of interrupting his live. You just didn’t know. “What, you think I was just talking to myself in my room? Of course I was live!” he throws his hands in the air angrily. You swallow the lump in your throat as you move your gaze to the counter. You were so excited to surprise him that you didn’t hear him talking. With a scoff, Taehyung turns away from you as he storms towards the front door, grabbing his coat on the way. You flinch in your seat when he slams the door behind him, the loud bang echoing throughout the apartment before silence settles in.
Unable to control his temper, Taehyung decides it’s best to remove himself from the situation before he says something he doesn’t mean. He dials their driver, bringing his phone up to his ear with a huff as he presses the button to call the elevator. Stepping into the elevator, he asks their driver to pick him up and bring him to the dorms. He needs some time to cool off.
Staring hard at the counter, you bite your lip as you desperately hold your tears back. You don’t know why you’re crying when you know it’s really not your fault, and you don’t know why you’re trying to hold back when there’s no one to hide your tears from. You hated fighting with Taehyung. He’s one of the most kind-hearted people you know, and you’re sure he’ll eventually come around, apologizing by giving you endless cuddles and kisses. But the way he yelled at you and blamed you without giving you a chance to explain still hurt.
Defeatedly getting up from your seat, you transfer the Japchae into a container before storing it in the fridge. You then go on to clean the rest of the kitchen, but you nearly drop the pan you were scrubbing when a loud crack of lightning booms outside the apartment. Your head snaps to the window, eyes widening when you notice how the sky is covered with dark clouds, heavy drops of rain pelting against the window as the trees are nearly bent in half due to the strong winds.
Your mind immediately goes to Taehyung who left the apartment not long ago. With the dishes long forgotten, you scramble to dry your hands, reaching for your phone and dialling his number. When he doesn’t pick up, you try again and again. Sighing frustratedly, you pull your phone away from your ear, spamming him with texts. You know that no matter how mad he is, he’s not that insensitive to ignore you when you were concerned for his wellbeing. When he doesn’t answer or even read your texts after another fifteen minutes, you start to panic.
You: Kim Taehyung I swear if you don’t answer me I’m going out to look for you myself
That’s the last thing you send before you’re throwing your phone onto the couch and running out the door.

Arriving safely at the dorms, Taehyung heads straight for the bathroom, wanting nothing more than to take a long, hot shower to clear his thoughts. Letting the hot water stream down his body and relax his tense muscles, he lets out a sigh of relief as he pushes his wet hair out of his face. The anger fogging his mind is seemingly released into the air and fogs up the bathroom mirror instead. As his mind starts to clear, Taehyung realizes that he overreacted.
It really wasn’t your fault. He hadn’t even told you he was going live, so how were you supposed to know? He knows you would never do anything with malicious intent and you’ve never interrupted his lives before, so it must’ve just been an accident. Standing under the stream of hot water, he takes the time to gather his thoughts and think of how to make it up to you when the lights suddenly go out and he’s covered in darkness.
Shutting the water off, he carefully steps out of the shower, drying himself and getting dressed before making his way out of the bathroom. “Guys?” he calls out into the darkness, “What happened?” Rubbing his hair with a towel as he finds his way into the living room, he’s suddenly blinded by a bright light being shone in his eyes. Bringing his free hand up to shield his eyes, a voice speaks up from behind the light. “The power went out,” Jungkook explains as he moves the flashlight so it’s no longer blinding Taehyung.
“The storm’s pretty bad. The whole city is out,” Namjoon observes as he looks out the window. Taehyung immediately thinks of you who’s back at the apartment, all alone. Taking the flashlight from Jungkook, Taehyung uses the light to find his way to his coat. Reaching into the pocket, he smiles upon finding his phone, but his face immediately falls when he reads all the notifications from you. Missed calls and texts flood the screen, but the most recent notification makes his heart drop to his stomach.
With his heart pounding against his ribcage, Taehyung dials your number, the ringing sound echoing in his head for what seems like an eternity before he’s being taken to your voicemail. “Pick up, pick up,” he mumbles as he hangs up and calls you again. He knows he deserves to be ignored after not answering any of your texts or calls, but he has a terrible feeling the reason you’re not picking up any of his calls isn’t because you’re trying to give him a taste of his own medicine.
When you don’t pick up after the third try, he grabs his coat and begins stuffing his feet in his shoes, only one arm through the sleeve before he’s reaching for the door handle. “Where are you going?” Jin asks as he places a hand on Taehyung’s shoulder to stop him. “I need to go check on y/n,” he rushes out as he brushes Jin’s hand off of him. “Tae, it’s not safe to go out right now. Have you tried calling her?” Namjoon’s calm and commanding voice is enough to stop him from moving any further and making any rash decisions.
“She’s not answering,” Taehyung answers without turning back, his fists clenched tightly by his side. The rest of the members exchange conflicted glances behind him. They were worried about you too so they could only imagine how Taehyung was feeling, but it was dangerous to go out in these conditions. “Please Hyung. We got into an argument and I left because I was mad. I need to make sure she’s okay,” he begs as he turns around and stares at Namjoon with pleading eyes.
Everyone turns to the leader, trusting in him to make the right call. Carefully contemplating all their options, Namjoon finally closes his eyes with a sigh. “Fine,” he agrees, “But we’re coming with you.” Taehyung nods furiously, already calling the driver while everyone quickly puts their shoes and coats on. Rushing out of the dorms, they all pile into the van, thanking the driver for coming out in such terrible conditions.
Driving carefully and slowly back to the apartment, Taehyung bounces his leg anxiously as he stares out the window. He hasn’t told the rest of the members about the last text you sent, but he hoped that it was just an empty threat and they would find you safe and sound back at the apartment when they arrived. But he still keeps an eye out for you just in case. The sickening feeling in his stomach only grows when he sees just how bad the storm is. The streets are starting to flood and branches are being broken off trees. Please be safe, he repeats in his head over and over again as he closes his eyes tightly, wishing to be at the apartment already.

Before the van can even come to a complete stop, Taehyung is jumping out of the vehicle and dashing towards the elevator. Stepping back after pressing the button, he taps his foot on the floor impatiently as he watches the numbers slowly decrease as the elevator descends. Deciding that the speed is too slow for his liking, he changes his mind about the elevator and heads for the stairwell instead. Running up the stairs, he pushes the burning sensation in his legs and his laboured breathing to the back of his mind. The only thing that mattered was getting to you.
Finally reaching the apartment, Taehyung fumbles around with his keys as he tries to unlock the door but it opens without any resistance, meaning it was never locked. Bursting into the apartment with the other members not too far behind, Taehyung yells for you as his eyes scan the darkness for you. “Y/n?!” he calls out desperately as he moves further into the apartment, throwing the bedroom door open in search of you. “Tae!” Hoseok calls from the living room.
Hearing the call of his name, Taehyung comes running out of the bedroom thinking that they had found you, but he quickly deflates when he sees the sombre look on all their faces. Moving closer to where they’re all gathered around Hoseok, he sees your phone in his hand. “She left without her phone,” Hoseok mumbles as he hands Taehyung your phone. “And she’s been gone for a while,” he says as the members all have a downcast expression. Taehyung turns your phone on, finding all his messages from nearly an hour ago on your lock screen, meaning you haven’t opened your phone since and possibly even long before then.
Tears of frustration start to build up in Taehyung’s eyes as he stares at your phone, the text starting to blur before his tears fall and land on the screen. Throwing all rationale out the window, he walks towards the door determined to find you but Namjoon puts an arm out to stop him. “Tae,” he says, guilt lacing his voice, “We saw how bad the storm was on the way here. It’s not safe for anyone to go running around outside right now.” Ignoring his leader’s words, he forces his way past Namjoon but a pair of arms wrap around his waist, holding him in place.
“Please Tae. It’s bad enough that y/n’s out there right now. What if you were to get lost too?” Jimin says pleadingly into Taehyung’s back, trying to reason with him. “Please,” Taehyung begs as he sags into Jimin’s arms in defeat. “She’s out there looking for me,” his voice comes out broken, barely a whisper. The members surround him and embrace him in a hug to try and comfort him, unable to stand watching him in such pain. “It would be worse if another one of us got lost or hurt out there. The best thing to do is wait here for her in case she comes back,” Yoongi reasons. “When she comes back,” Hoseok corrects Yoongi. “She’ll be okay,” Hoseok tries to reassure Taehyung.
Running around the city as the rain pours down hard on you and the harsh winds scratch against your skin, you’re starting to realize that maybe it wasn’t the best idea to run out of the house, during a storm, without a coat or your damn phone. “Fuck,” you curse under your breath, your teeth chattering as you wrap your arms around yourself to try and conserve some warmth. At this point, you didn’t even know where you were and without your phone, you had no way of getting any help.
There was no one in sight so you couldn’t ask for directions or to borrow their phone. And like an idiot, instead of searching for shelter or safety like a normal person would, you decide to keep running, refusing to stop until A. you physically can’t or B. you find Taehyung. A loud crack of lightning cuts through the air sounding awfully close, causing you to flinch and cover your head with your hands. “Watch out!” you suddenly hear a voice call out, causing your eyes to snap open.
Hearing the sound of wood cracking, you look up to see a tree beside the sidewalk struck in half, the top half of the tree tipping over and falling towards you seemingly in slow motion as you remain frozen in shock. The voice yelling at you to move out of the way finally registers in your mind and you fall back on your ass, just barely dodging it. “Oh my goodness, are you alright?” the voice appears right behind you as you feel a warm pair of hands under your arms, lifting you up and pulling you towards the buildings across the street, “What are you doing out here at a time like this? Come inside quickly!”
Everything seems foggy as you let the stranger guide you into a small shop by the road. You’re finally shaken out of it when you hear another voice, this time belonging to a female, approaching you, “You must be freezing!” Still in a daze, your eyes move to follow the elderly woman wrapping a blanket around your shoulders. Taking in your surroundings, you find that you’re in a small bakery smelling of coffee and baked goods. Then, an old man comes out of the doors behind the counter carrying a tray of mugs in his hands.
The elderly couple sits you down at a table, offering you some pastries but you politely decline, not really having an appetite. Placing a mug of hot chocolate in front of you, the man offers you an apologetic smile. “I’m sorry this is the best I can give you right now with the power out,” as he speaks you recognize his voice as one voice that you heard outside. You shake your head at him, giving him a small thanks before taking a sip of the sweet, warm liquid, melting you from the inside out. “What were you doing out there?” the lady asks, concerned as she places a comforting hand over yours on the table.
Suddenly being reminded of why you were here in the first place, you shoot up from your seat. “Taehyung!” you exclaim as you stand suddenly from your seat, you’re legs shaking as you nearly fall to the floor. “Be careful dear!” The lady gently scolds you as she tightens her hold on you to steady you. “You nearly got crushed out there kiddo. You must still be in shock, take it easy,” the old man advises you with a gentle smile. “I’m Mrs. Kim and this is Mr. Kim, but you can just call us grandma and grandpa,” Mrs. Kim tells you. Despite the situation, you can’t help but smile at how kind and welcoming this elderly couple was to you. “So who is this Taehyung boy you speak of?” Mrs. Kim inquires once you’ve settled back down.

After about an hour of waiting, Taehyung receives a call, his ringtone shattering the tense silence in the room and causing everyone to jump in their seats. His eyes light up hoping it’s you before he remembers that it was your phone he was holding in his other hand. Narrowing his eyes at the unknown number on his screen, he decides to answer it in the case of an emergency, but he really hopes that there’s no bad news and it’s just a salesperson or something. “Hello?” he answers, everyone in the room holding their breath as they wait to hear who’s on the other side of the line.
As soon as you hear Taehyung’s voice through the phone, a lump forms in your throat. “Tae?” your broken voice comes through the phone. “Y/n!” everyone lets out a sigh of relief at the sound of your voice. “Where are you? Are you okay?” Taehyung bombards you with questions. You briefly retell the story of how an elderly couple spotted you running outside through their store window, saved you from being crushed by a tree, and brought you into the safety of their little bakery. You try your best not to break down over the phone but you can’t help the sobs of relief that come up knowing that Taehyung was safe. His heart aches as he helplessly listens to your cries. He hated knowing you were crying because of him, and he hated that he couldn’t hold you in his arms or comfort you.
Looking outside, the storm has started to calm down and it’s safe enough to send a driver to pick you up. “Stay there, okay? I’m sending a driver to pick you up,” he informs you, staying on the line until the driver arrives. Bowing deeply towards the elderly couple before you leave, you thank them for their hospitality, “Thank you for saving me and taking care of me. I don’t know what would’ve happened if it weren’t for you.” Besides saving your life, it was only because of them that you were returning to Taehyung.
Shaking their heads at your thanks, they offer you soft and sweet smiles. “Don’t worry about it darling,” Mrs. Lee says, “Take care and come by when you have the time! And bring that Taehyung boy with you. He sounded so worried on the phone, I can tell you two care deeply about each other.” Nodding at her, you bow one more time before leaving with the promise of returning with Taehyung.
Climbing into the car, you try to muster a smile as you greet the driver, taking a seat in the back. Hearing the chattering of your teeth, he eyes you with worry through the rearview mirror, turning the heat up to the max to try and stop your shivering but to no avail. Looking outside the window, you notice street lamps and building windows light back up, signalling that the power was finally back on. Letting your head lean against the window, you close your eyes as a small smile spreads on your face despite your shivering. You were going back home.
All the boys wait inside the apartment while Taehyung paces back and forth in the hallway outside. The sound of the elevator dings and the doors open to reveal you, making a grand entrance with a sneeze before you’re being knocked back by a sudden force. Taehyung’s arms wrap around you as pulls you into his warm chest, not caring about the fact that you were soaking wet. “You’re okay. You’re okay,” he breathes out as he hugs you tightly, “You idiot. You scared me.” You lift your arms to wrap around him, warming your numb hands on his warm back. Feeling the way you’re shaking like a leaf against his form, he begins leading you back to the apartment.
“Y/n!”
“Thank goodness you’re okay,”
“We were so worried about you,”
“You’re such an idiot,”
“I’m glad you’re safe,”
They all take turns to hug you and scold you before Taehyung’s ushering you upstairs, his first priority being to get you warmed up. “Go take a hot shower,” he instructs you, “And come down where you’re done. Jin and Yoongi Hyung are making soup for you.” You simply nod before entering the bathroom, stripping of your soaked clothing and hopping in the shower, welcoming the hot stream of water. Walking into the bedroom, Taehyung collapses face-first onto the bed. Words couldn’t express the immense relief he feels knowing that you were safe. It felt like a huge weight was lifted off his chest and he could finally breathe.
He was so afraid that something happened to you and even though he now knows that you’re safe, he still feels like he failed you. It was his job to love you and take care of you and protect you just as it was your job to do the same for him. Even after you were most definitely hurt by the things he said to you and the way he walked out on you, you still risked your safety for him. But when he was angry, he had yelled and walked out on you. Disappointed in himself, Taehyung knows that he still has a lot to fix and apologize for, but taking care of you comes first.
Getting back up, Taehyung grabs some comfy bottoms of yours and one of his sweatshirts for you to wear. Knocking on the bathroom door, he lets himself in and places the clothes on top of the counter before exiting swiftly. Going back downstairs, he finds the rest of the members crowded by the doorway, slipping their shoes and coats back on. “The storm has lightened up so we’re going to head back now to give you two some privacy,” Yoongi explains. “The soup is on the stove. It should still be hot by the time she’s done,” Jin motions to the kitchen.
Taehyung nods in understanding, taking a step closer before pulling them all into a hug. “Thank you. For the soup and for coming with me. I don’t know what I would’ve done without you guys,” he breathes out. “You probably would’ve been running around in the storm if it weren’t for us,” Jimin laughs. “Probably,” Taehyung agrees with a chuckle. He couldn’t deny that when it comes to you, he can’t think straight, but it seems like the same applies to you as you didn’t hesitate to run into that storm for him. Placing a hand on Taehyung’s shoulder, Namjoon offers him an encouraging smile. “I hope you two can sort everything out,” he wishes him good luck before they all step out. Taehyung sends them off with a “Get home safe,” before closing the door and waiting for you in the kitchen.
When he hears your soft footsteps coming downstairs, he looks towards the staircase to find you tiredly rubbing at your hair with a towel. Clicking his tongue in disapproval, he takes the towel from you. “You have to dry your hair properly or you’re going to get sick,” he lightly scolds you as he sits you down at the table. Preparing a bowl of hot soup for you, you mumble a small thanks when he places it down in front of you. He dries your hair for you as you eat, humming at the taste. Everything Jin and Yoongi make are always delicious.
Your body was so exhausted from running around and shivering intensely in the cold. That exhaustion combined with the feeling of having some warm soup in your stomach and the relaxing way Taehyung was drying your hair was starting to put you to sleep. Unable to fight the heaviness of your eyelids, your head starts to fall forward as you doze off. Catching your head before you can land face first in your still half-full bowl of soup, Taehyung can’t help but chuckle. You reminded him of a small child who couldn’t even stay awake long enough to finish your food.
He shakes his head at you with a sigh although he can’t fight the fond smile forming on his face. Putting the towel down, Taehyung picks you up and carries you to the bedroom. Walking up the stairs slowly as to not wake you, he peels back the covers before laying you down on the bed and tucking you in. You whine as he steps away, craving his warmth even when you were unconscious. He smiles at your adorable sleepy state, whispering that he’ll be back soon before walking out of the bedroom and closing the door softly behind him.
Heading back downstairs, Taehyung quickly cleans the kitchen so that he can join you. As he opens the fridge to store the rest of the soup, his heart clenches when he spots the Japchae that you made for him earlier that day. He recalls how this all started and how he ruined your pure intentions of surprising him by cooking a meal for him. He stares at it sadly before closing the fridge and turning the kitchen lights off. Climbing into bed next to you, he holds you close to him, keeping you warm and protecting you from the rest of the world. He regrets yelling at you and walking out on you, but he’s glad that you’re back, safe in his arms, and he’s determined to do everything he can to make it up to you.

Waking up to warm rays of sun shining down on your face, the whole bedroom is tinted a beautiful golden yellow as the sun’s light is filtered through the curtains. Feeling the weight of a warm pair of arms wrapped tightly around your waist, you turn around to find Taehyung staring down at you with a bright smile on his face. “Good morning sleeping beauty,” he says in his gorgeous morning voice. His normal voice was already deep and rich, but you could never get enough of his raspy morning voice. “Good morning,” you smile back at him before snuggling into his chest and enjoying his warmth. Chuckling at your adorable gesture, he adjusts his hold on you, pulling you closer to him until there isn't an inch of space between you two.
Taehyung sighs deeply as he inhales your scent, basking in your warmth and taking a moment to just listen to the sound of your combined calm breathing. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean what I said,” he breaks the silence, mindlessly combing his fingers through your hair. “It’s okay, Tae. I know you were just worried about me,” you try to reassure him but he stubbornly shakes his head. “Still, I shouldn’t have yelled at you without even giving you a chance to explain. It was my fault I didn't tell you I was going live,” he frowns remembering how unfair it was for you. “You’re human and you make mistakes, Tae,” you never forget to remind him knowing how tough it is to be an idol, “You’ve been really busy and it must’ve just slipped your mind.” You always know the right thing to say and the way you’re always so understanding and forgiving makes him want to spill his whole heart out to you.
“I was so scared,” he confesses into your hair, “I just want to protect you. It’s so exhausting to have your privacy constantly invaded by the media and I’m scared that if they find out about you, one day it might become too much for you and you’ll leave.” You comfortingly trace random shapes on his back as he shares all his burdens with you, coaxing him to let it all out. “I wouldn’t blame you if you left because of my career. Sometimes it becomes too much even for me,” he says softly, but you can feel the heavy weight behind his words.
You place your hands on both sides of his face, holding him still so he can’t look away from your intense stare. “I’ll never, ever leave you, okay?” you say firmly. He nods at you with big eyes but you can tell he’s not convinced. Pulling him closer, you place a kiss on his pouting lips. “Nothing could ever make me leave you. But if you ever try and hide how you’re feeling from me again, I might just ignore you for a few days,” you joke playfully. Despite your attempt to lighten the mood, your words only serve to make him feel more guilty about the way he handled the situation.
“I should have talked to you about it instead of walking out on you,” he sighs as he turns onto his back to look up at the ceiling before whipping his head back to stare at you with wide eyes, “And are you crazy? Why would you go out in that storm without a jacket or your phone?! Idiot.” He flicks your forehead lightly, making you bring a hand up to rub the place he flicked, pouting at him. “Shut up, I know you would’ve done the same for me. Jimin told me that if they hadn’t stopped you, you would’ve run out into the storm as well,” you smile smugly, knowing you got him.
Taehyung looks away from you, cursing Jimin for ratting him out. Shoving your face into his chest so you can’t see his burning cheeks, you can hear him pouting as he mumbles, “At least I would’ve had a jacket and my phone.” You roll your eyes at his stubbornness but on the inside, you’re just glad the other members were there to stop him from doing something stupid. “Okay, okay, whatever you win,” you give in to him, “I’m just glad we’re both safe.” He hums in agreement. “Tell me if you’re ever feeling like this again?” you ask hopefully as look up at him, resting your chin on his chest, “You can’t get rid of me that easily, Kim Taehyung, and I’ll be there to remind you every time you need so long as you tell me.”
Chuckling at your stubborn yet caring ways, he promises to tell you whenever he’s feeling stressed or insecure as he presses a kiss to your forehead. Letting out a content sigh, you lay your head back on his chest, listening to his calm heartbeat. Enjoying the peaceful morning laying in bed, basking in the feeling of being back in each other’s arms, you two finally decide to get up around noon. Today is warm and sunny, a complete contrast to the day before. You decide that it’s the perfect day to go visit the elderly couple’s bakery as you promised to return and Taehyung wanted to meet them and properly thank them for saving you.

Walking to the bakery with your hand engulfed in Taehyung’s larger one, you take your time to enjoy the beautiful day and how the weather seems to reflect your mood these days. As you approach the bakery, you see a crew of workers across the street surrounding the broken tree that nearly crushed you less than twenty-four hours ago. Staring at the top half of the tree laying across the sidewalk, Taehyung’s hand tighten’s around yours, giving you a squeeze and confirming that you were here and you were safe.
The little bell above the door rings as you two walk inside, signalling the entrance of customers. Looking up from behind the counter, Mrs. Kim’s eyes light up in recognition when she sees you. “Y/n!” she exclaims, quickly moving around the counter and pulling you into a hug. Hearing the exclamation of your name, Mr. Kim appears in the doorway leading to the back. “How are you feeling kiddo?” he asks as he makes his way to Mrs. Kim’s side. “Much better,” you tell him with a smile.
Watching the interaction between you and the elderly couple, Taehyung marvels at how fond they’ve already become of you despite only meeting you yesterday, but perhaps it’s just one of your charms. “And you must be Taehyung,” Mrs. Kim turns to him. Taehyung nods as he bows deeply towards them, “Thank you so much for saving Y/n. I don’t know what I would’ve done if something happened to her.” Shaking off his thanks, Mrs. Kim urges Taehyung to stand up, “There’s no need to thank us, we’re just glad she’s okay.”
Even though the Kims have only just met you both, there’s an unexplainable fondness that they feel towards the two of you. Maybe it’s because of the way you two look at each other with nothing but pure love and adoration in your eyes, the great lengths you went to find him in that terrible storm and the worry they heard in his voice over the phone when you called to tell him you were safe. It’s the love you two shared that reminded the elderly couple of how they used to be when they were younger and still are today.
The cafe wasn’t too busy this afternoon, giving the four of you a chance to sit down and talk over some baked goods and delicious drinks. They tell you the story of how they met and fell in love, making you coo over how their love was still the same as when they first fell in love, if not stronger. When the sun starts to set, you and Taehyung decide it’s time to go. Thanking Mr. and Mrs. Kim for the food and for sharing their wonderful stories, you bid them goodbye and tell them that you’ll see them soon, as you’re sure you’ll start stopping by regularly.
Deciding to enjoy the beautiful weather a little longer before heading home, you two walk through the park, swinging your intertwined hands. “I hope we’ll be like them when we’re older” you sigh dreamily. Taehyung hums as he recalls the Kims. Despite all the years they’ve spent together, one look at them was enough to tell that their love was still as strong as ever. The way they both smiled fondly as they told stories of when they were young made Taehyung smile as he knew that there was no one else he’d rather grow old with than you.
“Will you still love me when I’m old and wrinkly?” he asks, jokingly raising an eyebrow at you. “No matter the effects time will have on you, you’ll always be the most beautiful soul I’ve ever met, inside and out,” you answer truthfully. A boxy smile takes over Taehyung’s face as he beams at you, the beautiful sunset painted on the sky behind him making him look even more like an angel than usual. He takes one of your hands in his, intertwining your fingers as he places the other on your waist, pulling you closer until you’re chest to chest. He closes his eyes as he leans his forehead against yours, gently swaying back and forth. You dance around the park as if you two were the only ones in the world because at that moment, as you gaze lovingly into his eyes, all you need is each other.
