⤿ summary: taehyung hated you for leaving him without any reason, not any he knew at least. few years later, you both meet each other again and neither of you are the same as before. you chose to become quiet with your life, not that you had any, while he still wonders why you left him.

"Good morning, sleeping beauty!” Taehyung said, grinning as he took off your cover which was over your head. You groaned, quickly getting under the blanket again to relish in the warmth.

"Kim Taehyung, I swear to god if you—," he plopped on beside you, suddenly pulling you closer to him, face tightly pressed against his chest.

You hit his chest, and he let out a small 'ow'. His dramatic behaviour releases a string of giggles from you.

"Stop, princess!" He said, laughing and running a hand through your hair.

There goes your heart beating rapidly... again. This should be a daily routine to you now… him calling you by sweet nicknames, doing gestures that make your heart flutter, and making you feel as flustered as possible. Yet every instance feels new with him.

"Tae?" you mumbled, your face still buried into his chest and he hummed in response, hinting at you to continue. "I think.."

Taehyung suddenly gasped, gripping your shoulders, "Don't tell me you are in love with me!"

You rolled your eyes at his comment, slapping his arm and grabbed your phone to show him the time.

"Holy shit— we are late, princess!" He stood up quickly, making his way towards the door while not forgetting to yell, "You have fifteen minutes to get ready!"

"Do we really have to do this?" you asked, panting with hands on your knees and heard a laugh coming from your best friend.

"God, you absolutely hate physical education, don't you?" you nodded in response, getting away from the ground as taehyung's eyes widened.

He mouthed a 'you can't be serious' to you while you just winked at him, successfully leaving the ground where everyone was participating in sports activities.

You changed back into your uniform and soon sat beside the window on your chair from where you could see Taehyung laughing with his group of friends.

Every little thing about him brought the most genuine smile on your face. the way he talked, laughed, his fluffy hair and of course, his charming personality.

Sometimes you just can't believe how the two of you got so close, that you wouldn't mind sharing your deepest secrets with him because you know he would be there for you.

A notification from your phone made you come out of your thoughts. maybe you shouldn't have seen it just yet..

Kang Ji-hun: Your father wanted me to inform you to come home immediately. Minjun has been sent to pick you up. Your leave application will be submitted.

You close your eyes, feeling anger as well as nervousness rushing through you. Your father couldn't be serious right now! It was the middle of the day and what could be so important?

Thinking to respond to your father's assistant with a denial, you start typing out:

Kang Ji-hun: If you're thinking about responding to me with a 'no', do not do so. Your father isn't in the best state of mind as of now.

You groan, but nonetheless pick up your bag and step out of the university, waiting for the driver to arrive.

Then you see Taehyung, drinking water as the sweat flows down from his forehead to neck. "Taehyung!" you call out and he looks towards you, waving his hand before coming near you.

"How was the practice?" you ask while getting out a small piece of cloth from your bag to wipe off the sweat on his face. "Oh! It was amazing, princess. I wish you could have seen me beat the Jeon Jungkook, you know?"

You laugh, handing him the cloth and say, "Glad to know, Tae. Oh yeah, I'm heading home." His eyebrows furrowed in confusion and before he can ask something, you tell him about your father's call for you.

He only nods in response.

Around five minutes later, your car arrives and you sit inside. "Make sure you drop me a message when you reach, okay?"

"Sure!”

The door is opened by one of the workers and you ask them about their day before walking towards your father's study. As always, the room is surrounded by a cold aura and you are quick to break the silence lingering in the room.

"What is it now, dad?" You ask but upon not receiving a reply, you sigh and look at Mr. Kang.

You raise your eyebrows and loudly let out a 'Well?' but both of them are quiet and your anger only rises. "Do you like playing around with me? Both of you?"

"You are getting engaged in the next three weeks." Your father lets out casually, as if it's an everyday routine for him to say something like this. At first, you only think it has to be some kind of joke but as time passes by and you realise that your father is always serious, you can't help but whisper, "What?", softly; even though it can be easily heard by the two men due to the stillness in the room.

When you look at Mr. Kang, he lowers down his head in shame and never bothers to admit the shame building inside him. "You can't be serious, dad! How— You didn't even mind concerning me with a matter like this!?"

"I don't need my daughter's permission when I know what's the best for her." He claims, so confidently.

You scoff, hurt evident on your features befores speaking, "I'll let you know that I'm not getting in a relationship with someone I don't know under any circumstances, and that too without my consent!"

He once doesn't look up to meet your eyes and hints at his assistant to give you some further information. "Y/n, dear, i know it's sudden but it really is the best for you and us! Our business will be expanding further and the boy is around your age too. In Fact, your father has arranged a lunch meeting for you both to get to know each other. Isn't that lovely?" His smile grows at the last sentence.

You clench the hem of your skirt and run outside the room, shutting the door loud enough. You want to cry out for the unfair treatment you just received, but instead, you lock yourself in your bedroom and bet that the noise of things breaking and making contact with the floor can reach your father.
