"would you say that it was worth it?"

"no, not really."

your eyes sting with tears even more than before upon hearing your boyfriend's response.

"but— what about… everything we did together? the promises we made?" you ask once more, hoping that he understands how much still, you want your relationship to be strong, and not just end after eight months.

he scoffs at the sight of you. messy hair from clutching on them a little too hard, eyes teary and definitely full of surprise because of the statement he made a few moments ago.

"have you seen yourself, really? don't you think i would rather not be with you anymore?"

"what the fuck even happened!? you were— we were, talking about our future just yesterday!"

jungkook nearly flinches at your raised voice. but even if your words affect him, just a bit, he doesn't show it.

poking his tongue inside his cheek, he takes a deep breath, "i… met someone. hyunji, to be precise."

hyunji, his ex. the pretty, "it" girl of all. he had told you he was over her (when you had asked him if he's sure about another relationship).

you should have known though, he was still in love with her.

were you never enough for him?

your words accidently come out loud, and jungkook shakes his head while looking down.

"no, that's never been the case. i swear, y/n. in fact, you are too good… "

"then why are you breaking up with me? going back to the person who broke your heart, when you came crying to me?"

he closes his eyes at the memory, recalling how a heated argument had left him and his ex fighting, and finally breaking up. he remembers coming straight to your house while crying, too.

and even if he wants to thank you for that again, at the very moment, or at least let out some words of comfort for you, the words that slip out of his tongues leave you, and him silent for a while.

"just so you know, we were both at fault. it wasn't just her, so stop making her the bad bitch here when you were clearly the one who wanted to hook up with me after knowing the whole thing!"

"get out."

hearing you, he just sighs before picking up his jacket and putting on his cap.

"i will, yes. and i'm sorry.", he says.

a not-so humourous laugh leaves your mouth.

"you don't mean it."

he gulps and opens the door to leave your house, looking back at you for the last time.

but you aren't looking his way. because if you do, you are sure you'll break down, once again.

it will be alright, you think.

and after two years, when you meet taehyung, it really gets okay.

"Y/n!"

Taehyung yells from behind where you're walking ahead of him, one strap of his bag lying on his shoulder. You look back and stop on your track, waiting for Taehyung to reach near you.

"Yes, Tae?" You say, linking your arm with his and continue to walk. He smiles before ruffling your hair and placing a kiss on the crown of your head.

"You didn't come to the library yesterday. Why?" He asked, obviously confused since you're never the one to back out of plans at the end moment.

"We were supposed to meet? Guess I forgot, Tae. Sorry." Smooth, you think but fail to notice him rolling his eyes.

"We literally meet there everyday, princess. Care to explain?" Ok, maybe not so smooth.

"Fine. I just.. got my period, you know?"

"Oh," He falls silent, a little embarrassed as his cheeks turn a light shade of pink.

"Do you need something? Chocolates? Anything that will help you?" You chuckle, shaking your head and whisper 'I am fine', beside him.

When you are standing outside the university, he takes your hand and starts heading inside. Suddenly, you felt a hand grabbing your free arm, which made you and Taehyung stop.

Both of you look behind, and you widen your eyes, not expecting the person in front of you to be here any soon. Taehyung nudges your arm and you glance at him for a moment before releasing your hands from the two men.

"Hey, Y/n."

The boy, unknown to Taehyung, smiles at you and then looks around, possibly getting a hold of the surroundings.

"Who's this, princess?" Taehyung asks.

"I'm her—"

"He's a new admission, Tae. Professor Cha told me to show him around today."

You speak before he can reveal anything any further. All of a sudden, you hear the two of them laughing and you grow even more nervous.

"Why are you laughing?"

"Y/n! He's Dae Jun, my roommate from last year. Do you not remember? We are just messing around with you."

Your heart only sinks further when you realise he's the one.

"O-Oh, yeah. I completely do."

You say scratching your neck and internally gasp when you hear Tae calling Dae Jun 'bro' and giving him a hug. You thought they weren't that close, but keeping in mind Taehyung knew him even after all that time, you could be wrong.

"Y/n, how about I show him around? I'll be there in a few minutes, yeah?"

Taehyung says while smiling and you nod before walking away from the two of them.

Before your professor can enter the class, you see Taehyung and Dae Jun making their way towards you.

Looking down the window immediately, you don't see the person already sitting beside you. But you don't need to know that. It's Taehyung, always.

"Hey", a voice says, poking your arm. That doesn't sound like Tae, you think. When you turn your head, you see Dae sitting beside you and Taehyung away from the both of you.

The latter winks and sends a finger heart in your direction. Giggling, you return the heart and finally have a look at your partner.

Crossing your arms, you say, "What the fuck are you doing here? Mr. Kang didn't tell you to take an admission in my fucking university!"

"I don't need my future wife's permission to do something I want, ya know? Besides, Kim Taehyung is in the same University as you. What if you two are fucking behind my back?"

He rolls his eyes and spits the words off rudely. Your face scrunches up in disgust, unable to comprehend how his mindset even works like that.

"We aren't getting married, you bastard."

He ignores your statement and raises a new question for you to answer.

"Why doesn't he know yet?"

You pause for a moment, not knowing the reason yourself. Why didn't you tell Taehyung about his ex-roommate being your possible, forced fiancé?

"I'll let him know. You do not get to speak about this shit here, and especially in front of him, alright?"

He scoffs, before blurting out, "Whatever."

Nothing has been going easy since lunch. Dae Jun has been sticking to you ever since, whispering warnings to stay away from Taehyung whenever he isn't around. When you and Taehyung finally have a class together that doesn't involve Dae Jun, you breathe out a sigh of relief.

"Princess, can I come over at your place today?"

Taehyung asks casually while doodling little hearts on his notes. When he doesn't hear an excited 'yes!' from you ordinarily, he looks up.

You visibly tense up and swear he must have noticed that.

"How about we meet at our regular spot, Tae?"

"Sounds okay."

You shoot him a grin, which he returns back and both of you start talking about random things, unaware of the pair of eyes watching you.

"Hey, Taehyung!"

Internally groaning and wanting to bury your head into a pillow, you ignore Dae's voice and continue to read your book. But that wasn't Tae had in mind.

He stands up and runs a hand through his hair, smiling at his 'old' friend. You pretty much avoid the whole conversation between them as they sit beside you, but another question coming from Dae Jun grabs your attention quickly.

"You free later, Kim?"

"No. We have plans today. I'm sure the two of you can make up some other day, yeah?"

You answer for him and the two of them look at you in surprise.

"Princess, It's fine. We can hang out—"

"That's okay. Meet me at the basketball court tomorrow! I'll be practicing to beat you."

Dae shrugs and you scoff, before he turns back and whistles on his way out.

"You wanna spend time with me that desperately?"

Taehyung smirks and you hit his arm with your book, saying, "Shut up."

Entering the coffee shop, you are met with the smell of coffee beans with fresh pastries, the hushed conversations of people nearby and the moving of chairs here and there.

You look around to find Taehyung, knowing he will be here already since you are late. Upon finding him, you walk to sit across him, about to apologise, when you see his appearance.

He's wearing a white t-shirt with a long brown jacket and gray pants, just the way he likes; baggy and comfortable. His hair is curly and fluffy, as if wanting to be touched and he wears his specs. Handsome. That's all you can think when you see him.

"You look handsome,"

You speak unthinkingly. You want to smack yourself for not being able to control what you say.

He smiles and says, "You don't look bad yourself, princess."

You are wearing a beige t-shirt with white-ish vest and a coffee colored miniskirt, trying to be as regular as possible.

"Thanks, Tae.

Only then you see a coffee cup lying on the table, so you pick it up and take a sip, thinking he ordered it for you.

"Hey! That was mine!" Taehyung says and you keep the cup down immediately, ears and neck a shade of red, embarrassed.

"Uh.. Anyways, what's up?" You ask, tapping your nails on the wooden table.

"Right, there's something you need to know now!"

"And that is?"

"Hana asked me out!"

Silence. You stay quiet, processing the new-found information. Of course she asked him out. They both looked good together, unlike you, or so what you thought.

"When?" You finally ask.

"Just before I headed out of the Uni,"

"Did you say yes?"

Something in you hopes that he denied the 'confession' but all of it crashes when you hear him mumble shyly, "Yeah. I like her too, I guess."

You don't even know why you feel sort of a weird feeling in your chest, something like a heartbreak. You don't want to admit the hurt growing more and more as time passes by. So, you smile.

"Good to hear, Tae. I hope it works out for you both. You look good together." Lie.

"Thank you, princess." He grins, squeezing your small hands in his large ones.

Maybe you should accept the marriage proposal. It can't be that bad, right?
