A Note from Kutemouse: So I came up with this idea while re-watching TxT’s interview with Buzzfeed, you know the one with the puppies? I highly recommend if you need a daily dose of FREAKING ADORABLE TxT. Anyways, the question was what TxT thought of each other the first time they met, and of course, most of the boys said they thought Huening Kai was cute, and he seemed to kind of roll his eyes and be like, “Yes, yes, I know I’m cute, thank you.” It made me laugh, and then I dreamt up this one-shot. Enjoy!

Cutie Pie Kai (Huening Kai One-Shot, Fluff)

You watched bits and pieces of the interview between packing up all the makeup supplies. You had just graduated high school, but thanks to your older sister being a full-time makeup artist for Tomorrow x Together, you were able to land an internship working closely with her. It mostly consisted of coffee runs and endless cleaning of brushes, but you knew this was the opportunity of a lifetime.

The interview went smoothly, of course. TxT had been preparing for interviews since the day they started training. Most notable was the question about the members’ first impressions of each other. Yeonjun and Taehyun told Huening Kai they thought he was cute when they first saw him, and if you hadn’t been watching him closely, you would’ve missed the brief eyeroll he gave at their answers. “Yes, yes, I know I’m cute, thank you,” he replied.

After the interview was a photoshoot, group shots first, then individuals. Huening Kai was the last to finish, leaving you alone with him in the dressing room as you carefully wiped off his makeup. The only event left on TxT’s schedule was a lengthy practice, and you wanted to make sure Huening Kai wasn’t sweating off makeup and, in doing so, causing his perfect, porcelain skin to break out. He sighed, slouching in the chair as you worked. “Something wrong?” you asked.

“No. Well, maybe.”

You hesitantly put down the wipe. “Do you wanna talk about it?”

“It’s just… everyone always tells me how cute I am, but that’s all they see. Then you have Soobin or Yeonjun, and everyone always talks about how manly and sexy they are.” Huening Kai’s lips turned out in the cutest pout you’d ever seen, and you had to bite your lip to stop yourself from smiling at the irony.

“Well, sexiness doesn't equate to manliness,” you replied, grabbing a puff and soaking it with cleansing water. "You can be cute and manly."

“Yeah, I know. They just have a different appeal, a more mature appeal. Meanwhile, I’m over here, and all my fans ask for is, ‘Aegyo! Aegyo!’”

Huening Kai sighed, putting his face in his hands. “I just don’t know how much more I can take. I know I have a baby face, but I can be sexy too, you know?”

You glanced at the ceiling and pressed your lips together to keep from snorting out a giggle. “Yeah, of course.”

Before you could stop yourself, you reached out and pinched Kai’s cheek. “But you’re just so damn cute, who could help themselves?”

“Quit it!” he said, batting your hand away, but his brown eyes danced with mischief.

You reached out and began running the puff over Huening Kai’s gorgeous skin when he caught your wrist, stopping your movements. “Do you really think that, though? That I’ll never be more than ‘The cute one?’”

The playfulness from earlier dissipated, leaving you looking into Kai’s eyes, large with earnestness. “Uh, um,” you stammered, taking a step back. “I dunno. I think people think that right now because you’re so young, but maybe as you grow older, they’ll think differently.”

“Hmmm.” Huening Kai leaned back in his chair. “You think so?”

“I know so,” you replied, zipping up your bag. “Well, you’re all finished. I’ll see you in two days for that photoshoot.”

“Right.”

You turned to leave, but had barely twisted the doorknob when Huening Kai’s voice stopped you. “Wait.”

You looked back to see him stand and slowly stalk towards you, his eyes dark and hooded. “Is that what you think of me?”

“Wh-What?”

“You think all I can be is cute for the next few years?”

“N-No, that’s not what I-”

He was so close now you could smell his cologne, some type of citrus scent mixed with mint. He towered over you, making you shrink against the door, your hand still on the knob. Kai gently placed his hands on either side of your head, trapping you beneath him, his rose-pink lips turned up in a smirk. “Still think I’m cute?” he asked, his voice low.

You couldn’t bring yourself to breathe let alone answer. Despite being in close proximity to the gorgeous members of TxT, you’d always restricted your attraction to any of them, Huening Kai in particular, to admiring them from a safe, professional distance. Now here you were, confronted with your crush head-on.

Huening Kai’s eyes bore into your own. “Because I think you’re cute.”

He leaned down, and you instinctively turned your face away. “Hyuka… Wh-What are you doing?”

Humming in response, Huening Kai pressed his lips against the skin of your neck, causing you to sigh as tingles erupted all over your body. He continued to kiss you, his lips getting closer and closer to yours, eliciting small gasps of delight from you. When you could no longer take it, you wound your hands in his soft, dark hair and pulled his face toward yours, colliding your mouth against his in the sweetest kiss.

The push and pull between your lips and his continued as he pressed you back into the door, one of his hands finding refuge on the small of your back, the other caressing your jaw. The two of you broke apart only when voices from the hall floated towards you, reminding you both where you were. You stared at Huening Kai in shock for a moment before busying yourself with packing up the rest of your makeup supplies.

“So, uh, I guess I’ll see you in a couple days,” he said.

“Uh, yeah, I guess so.”

“Hey,” he said softly, gently grasping your jaw and turning your face towards his. He stared into your eyes for a moment before smirking. “Cutie pie.”

You scoffed in response as Huening Kai opened the door. “Oh, and Y/n?”

“Hmm?”

“Don’t ever call me cute again.” His dark eyes smoldered as his eyes slowly roamed up and down your body, causing you to swallow hard.

He winked before shutting the door, leaving you to ponder what the hell just happened. Well, you knew one thing for sure. You’d never think of Huening Kai as ‘cute’ again.

That being said, this one-shot is extremely well written, highly recommend 10/10. Just a warning tho, a cold shower WILL be needed after reading 😆

One of the best decisions, you decided, was going to college. Sure, it’s not for everybody, and for a long time you weren’t sure if it was for you. Your parents were like most, encouraging you to go with high hopes that it would lead you to a good career. You, on the other hand, had heard from many of your friends and strangers on the internet through their stories that sometimes college was a waste of time and/or money, so you were skeptical. Luckily, your best friend Sooyoung was sharing the same troubling decision as you, so you both decided to look for a fitting college for the both of you go to so you wouldn’t be alone. After graduating high school and months of college applications, you both decided on an arts college in Seoul. Both of you being from Daegu meant that both of your parents were apprehensive about leaving your hometown, but ultimately they decided they would have to put aside their worry in order for you to get your desired education.

So, you went to college and for the first three years you were content. You decided on a technical Music major, dreaming of maybe producing and writing music, while Sooyoung picked a Performing major.

Your last year of your degree was when your life started to change for the better, because that’s when you met Yeonjun, a.k.a the catalyst for your near future. Yeonjun was a fellow student with a Dance major who was in desperate need of electives that weren’t going to be so boring that they made him want to drop out. That’s how he landed in his seat next to you in Professor Kim’s Songwriting 101 class for his spring semester and met you. The two of you became good friends over the semester, often helping each other study and hanging out outside of classes. That’s how you met him.

Soobin was in his third year of his Arts History major, and being an introvert, he found his four closest friends and stuck to them. Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, and Huening Kai were all a bit more extroverted him, which he was mostly thankful for since it brought him out of his shell when necessary. Like when Yeonjun invited him to go shopping in Seoul with his friend from his Songwriting class. That’s how he met you.

The two of you got along really well, and soon enough the two of you became the ones in the group that the others teased for being in love with each other. The thing was, Soobin wasn’t like his friends when it came to relationships. He had never spoken to a girl romantically, let alone been in a relationship. He wasn’t brave enough to make the first move; hell, he got nervous when the group would hang out and the only available place to sit was next to you. His cheeks bloomed with blush when you complimented him. He couldn’t even imagine asking you out.

You on the other hand, had been in a handful of relationships since high school, some more serious than others. You usually weren’t the one to commence a relationship, but you had done so a couple of times. The fateful day the three of you went shopping in Seoul was in the beginning of May, and for the next couple of months you found yourself falling for the younger, but taller, boy. However, you were left wondering if he felt the same as he never made a move on you. Fortunately, Yeonjun and Sooyoung came to the rescue, setting up a movie night for the group where everyone but you and Soobin cancelled last minute, leaving the two of you alone at the movie theater lobby wondering where everyone else was.
