Person A buying horror movie tickets so that when Person B sees the movie they get scared and latch onto Person A but Person A ends up being scared instead. Quite a mystery of Pereon B knew all along and went with it.
ALTERNATIVELY,
Person A's plan backfires and now both of them are scared shitless allowing for more shenanigans, and or post movie cuddling because both can't sleep.

MXTX stories taught me that for some people, being loved is enough. It might not be enough to change them, some people are already too far gone for change, but it's the first step in encouraging them to overcome their trauma. Some of them know that the person they were before is long gone and will never return, but to be seen in their ugliest, at their worst, and still loved...it such a beautiful a feeling.
Sometimes they recoil from it because they feel they don't deserve it, but still they appreciate it. They need it, they crave it. At the end of the day, they are glad for it, that despite everything, somebody loved them.
