The Invisible Life Of Addie Larue - A Book Review (spoiler Warning For The Book)
The Invisible Life of Addie Larue - a book review (spoiler warning for the book)
uh hello. so i decided that, for the meantime, i will include my book reviews here as well, because i do not have that much writing content to post, and because my other content, aside from my writings, would be character and song analysis. i wanted to start my book reviews with my most recent read, which is the invisible life of addie larue. here are my thoughts on it: wow. this book was not what i would call the most marvelous thing i've read (because that title would go to japanese tales of mystery and imagination) but i would say that this was one of the more impressive books that i have read, in terms of both language usage and plot. i'll start with the language usage, to keep the spoilery bits about the plot for later. i would confidently say that i rather like v.e. schwab's writing style. it's simplistic, but poetic, and i believe this type of writing is what people would call flowery, and i found that i quite like that style of writing. there are so many different lines i've highlighted just because of how much i liked the way it was written or because of how the emotion was brilliantly expressed or even because of just how mysterious the line sounds alone. aside from that, i like shifting of perspectives, where one chapter is modern day and the other is sometime in the past. it helped the story make sense as it moved along. the things i liked in the plot are, to me, a bit less significant than the language usage that i liked, but they're still important enough to discuss. something i found to be rather clever was how this story, as a whole, is a romance that has little hints of mystery and fantasy that make the romance seem like a fantasy. it did not feel like a romance book to me, and i really liked that, since i do not like the romance genre all that much. another thing i liked was the characters. now, i can't really say that i like the characters as people (with the exception of henry. i like him as a person) but they are brilliantly well written. a prime example of that would be luc. i do not like him in the slightest but his character and personality and just his entire being was incredibly well written. addie is sort of like that as well, except that i do sort of like her, just not as much as henry. she could be a bit dull sometimes, but for the most part, she's alright. the final thing i liked about the plot, and this is where the spoilery bit is so beware, is the ending. i cannot say that i liked that addie ended up with who she ended up with, because i did not want her to end up with him. however, the aspect of the ending that i liked was what henry did with addie's story. i think it was incredibly brilliant of him to turn everything that she has told him into a book and sell it because i think that being an author fits him as a person and because it's just a really smart thing to do, because what else would he do with addie's story? overall, i would definitely recommend this book. i absolutely adored the writing style and the plot was quite interesting as well.

The Girl On The Other Side - a book review
i love this series. the plot is so intricate and much more complicated than i expected, in a positive light. i like the character writing as well a lot, especially for albert or teacher. speaking of teacher, he was the reason, essentially, why i started this series. a close friend of mine told me i reminded her of a character in the series, and i decided to read and see which it is. she was right. i am quite a lot like him, and i find it to be a bit concerning. i am deeply emotionally attached to him now, because of our similarities and because of, simply, how he's written as a character. he's quite interesting, as a person, and he's so realistic, in an odd way, considering he's technically no longer a human. i love the way he was written. aside from him, i like shiva a lot, although she's not as complex as a person. i suppose that is because of the that she's still a child, so she doesn't really have much complexity. she's quite endearing, however. overall, i would recommend this manga series to people without many concerns. granted it did make me cry, on multiple occasions, but it was still a lovely story that i enjoyed a lot.
i know that most of my stuff on here is just writing without me talking as me in between so this is weird to do-
anyway, i just wanted to ask if people would be interested in seeing my character analysis for bungou stray dogs, considering that i have only written around 4. i am still not sure whether or not will i make another account for it, probably so, since i would like to separate all of my works and i might even add other medias’ analysis as well. if you like the idea, then perhaps like this or something so i could tell how many people want me to do that-
Kafka On the Shore - a book review
this was a very interesting read to say the very least. it was quite enjoyable and it leaves a lot of things for one to think about after they're done. i am not sure how i interpret the events that took place, seeing as some of them are realistic yet some of them are not, but, for now at least, i think that this entire story took place in a non-dream reality. this was all real in whatever universe it took place in. aside from its peculiar and weird general plot, i love the way that the characters were written. they all had something in them that did not affect the main plot line but it made them so human-like and that is why i truly appreciated the characters. in addition to all of these points, something that truly amazes me about this book and generally translated book is that the words i was reading are not written how they usually are. i mean by this that usually when things get translated, the translation cannot capture the beauty of the original words written by the author in the media's original language. it was something that added on to my enjoyment and liking to this book. anyway, i really recommend this book. though some people might find it confusing and boring. spoilers: i have seen many people who read this book saying that they didn't find any morale or any lesson learned from the story or something similar to that, i disagree. this book teaches you many things, one of which is to never get too attached to the past. i mean, look what it did to miss saeki. after her lover died, she was no longer alive. maybe physically she was alive but not mentally. she lost her will to live and just carried on as a emotionless living being. there are also many other lessons learned but this one is the one that stood out to me the most
On Best Friends and Platonic Relationships
you're a mystery, but one that i’m somehow familiar with. you're a stranger, yet you know me better than myself. you're a poem in an undecipherable dead language , but i understand the meaning regardless. you know me, you understand me, even though we haven't known each other for all that long. how, how, i cannot understand. all i can say is that you're familiar to me, in a way that i cannot explain. you bring me comfort, you make me feel safe, but i’ve never been even ten feet near you. you are, simply, my best friend. my closest one, the one who knows me most. even though i did not initially plan on so, i am immensely grateful that it is you who is this close to me.
Mystery - a song analysis
once more, please listen to the song before reading the analysis. this one’s another enemies-to-lovers song, and it’s one of my personal favourites. also i believe it’s the first song for me to analyse that is not by mitski. ‘what a mystery, that i could want you still’ the singer is now with their lover, peacefully. they used to be rivals before, and they never once even agreed, but now they’re together, now they’re partners. because of so, the singer is a bit at disbelief, that they could still want their lover, but now in a romantic sense, not a ‘i-will-have-your-head-as-a-trophy’ manner. they find it to be a mystery, but one that they’re willing to unravel and crack. ‘it’s a mystery, that i would pick you ten out of nine times’ although they’re at peace with their emotions for their partner, they still are marvelled by how they would always pick their lover of all people for anything. they don’t believe, even though they know it’s true, that they would pick their lover to be their lover even in another world or another universe. it’s a mystery, one that they will never understand, but one that does not bother them, even though they do not understand it. i don’t really have much to say for this song. it makes me very happy when i listen to it, and i appreciate the two lines that i spoke of extensively a lot.
