He made remus a mug with 5 (wolf, dog, stag, rat, cat) animals under a full moon

He made his brother a little motorcycle to display

He made james and himself a coaster set with suns and stars for when they live together someday

He made Evan and barty some disturbing little clay creatures who look like fucked up taxidermied monsters

And just a bunch of other shit. He loves the arts and uses his skills to try and show people he loves them

THEY GO SO WELL TOGETHER like barty and reg both in uni for music and barty is in a band that plays in bars and has little underground shows here and there and is covered in tattoos and smokes like a chimney and goes out clubbing sees regulus one day in the music room on the piano just casually playing the best piano he's ever heard and stands there listening to him with a smile because yes he's staring at those long, thin fingers but also this guy is so talented it hurts and he wants to invite him to a show but doesn't want to interrupt the music

Hands slip up from Regulus' waist to his shoulders, to the back of his neck, diving in the grown curls at his nape before sliding to cup his cheeks. James does it so reverently. Not like he's holding something fragile, or fickle. Regulus always hated being perceived like that– like something that needs protection, needs to be saved, that needs care and to be coddled. He's never even said out loud, but, somehow, James knows.

James doesn't do any of that. No. James holds him like he's precious.

James likes to care for what and who he holds close to his heart. He likes to protect it, and surely likes to pamper, to help, to care. But none of that is out of necessity, nor responsibility. James holds him simply because he wants to.

He looked at Regulus and thought, I like that. I'll cherish it.
