I asked myself that question several months ago, and this was the result:

Hob Gadling never intended to have a child again, couldn’t imagine doing it, having them, and losing them. When little Jo comes into his life though, he couldn’t regret her. He also could have never imagined how insane his life would get, once she’s in it. Then again, it’s not like he was exactly normal from the start, was he?
