Adding to your cracked headcannon and making it darker: The Satanic cult that runs the Ultimate Frisbee camp lured in children not only to reruit them, but also to try to discover, trhough skill, power and raw strength displayed in the game of Ultimate Frisbee, which child is the AntiChrist, spaw of their master and bringer of the end of the world. And they discovered Jonah is the one, but he escaped and now keeps distance from UF, for now every time he plays he fells the lure to the darkness.
This anon is cursed but I might as well say that it would make sense that Jonah, having shown power to lure seemingly all those around him to be attracted to him and to follow him wherever he goes for seemingly no reason other than he’s “nice” and the fact we know so little about his family……you might be on to something.
