Hey kate, thanks for reading this! So, partway through the story im writing, my characters are going to run into the main villain. However, at this moment in time, they don't know they're the villain, thinking it's a minor inconvenience, escaping the minor inconvenience, and continuing on their way. What good ways could I foreshadow that this is the actual villain while foreshadowing that the "villain" isn't actually a villain?

Hmm… Foreshadowing is, at its core, meant to be undetectable on the first read and then hit the reader in the face when they read it, knowing the details that haven’t been revealed at that point in the story. For scenes like this, I recommend putting a flag next to it and then coming back when you’ve fleshed out the rest of the story to the point of the 2nd or 3rd draft. This may seem like procrastinating, but you will automatically write it better if you’ve already built up some minor details later on that you can hint at when you edit that scene later on. 

You can’t foreshadow effectively if you don’t know the details you want to include yet, and even if you have everything plotted and outlined down to the grain, the best things you can reference in foreshadowing are the creative elements you add in the moment. So, once you’ve reached the end of your second draft, return to the scene and find little places in dialogue or description where you can insert details that will give the desired effect.

My first contact with RE was when I visited a cousin too, he had RE3 and I watched him play a lot of it. Then when I got a PS1 as a birthday present and played RE2, then RE1 and later on I got RE3 too. But RE2 is the first RE game I played on my own and it's still my favorite!

Nivanfield is an amazing ship and it sucks that there's so much hate towards it, sadly a lot of people get outraged simply by seeing someone saying they headcannon Chris as gay or bi. But at least Nivanfield has a fair amount of content creators and supporters. But I would like for a Nivanfield!Steo scenario (can we call it that? I'll go with it for now), to have a happy ending, the way Chris campaing ended in RE6 was tragic and I would rather have Stiles and Theo survive in the end.

Steo as Jake and Sherry would be so good as well! And I think it would fit, Theo and Jake have a lot in common, if those two met they would probably end up being friends, or at least frenemies. Stiles would be a determined agent just like Sherry, but probably with a lot more sass!

I like to imagine them in RE1 like scenario too, with Stiles in the place of Chris and Theo being Wesker. Or maybe even Stiles being like Jill and Theo being like Barry!

There are so many possibilities!

Steo Resident Evil AU! Maybe they're STARS members? Or maybe Stiles is an FBI agent that gets caught in a outbreak, and Theo is a Umbrella scientist that wants out or stole company data and is now being hunted, and runs into Stiles during the crisis! Or maybe Theo is an Umbrella experiment that didn't turn into a mindless monster, or wasn't experimented with yet but was being kept in captivity as a future test subject, and escaped during the chaos! I would love your thoughts on this AU!

ooooooooooooooooooooh, Resident Evil. Yass. Great thinking, nonnie! 

My mind instantly jumps to Resident Evil 6 because of Chris Redfield and Piers Nivans. Can you imagine??? Theo is totally Chris who went MIA after a mission gone wrong, and Stiles is Piers constantly kicking Theo’s ass to get him back in line. In the end, Stiles sacrifices himself so Theo gets a chance to get free and a shot at a better life. Instead, Theo falls in a hole, much deeper than before. Stiles miraculously survives but not without consequences. Theo hears about it and instantly comes back. Stiles is mad that Theo tried drowning his problems again but is also glad that he came back for him.

But I also love the FBI!Stiles and Umbrella Scientist!Theo idea. Maybe they hooked up? Oooh, or maybe Stiles is some kind of undercover agent, and they fell in love. Theo promises to help him bring Umbrella down but something goes wrong and they are caught in the middle of an outbreak at one of the laboratories. 

And the ‘Theo is an Umbrella experiment “gone wrong”’ one? *chef’s kiss* Perfect. Theo has been experimented on but he was a failure. It didn’t really work out the way the scientists intended. He still has some perks (strength, healing). But he’s broken and tortured and fucking angry. He breaks out, takes a wrong turn and finds a boy in another cell. It’s Stiles. He hasn’t been experimented on yet, and Theo won’t let them. He lets him out (and all the others). They flee during the chaos. 

For the AU scenario: Steo, Science fiction and/or science fantasy.

But, oh dear, I’m not a science fiction kinda gal (and I don’t think I have ever watched anything that could be considered science fantasy), and the only thing that comes to mind is Alien(s). 

1) Stiles and Theo are on their way back to earth. Theo is a renowned (alien??) biologist. Stiles is constantly underestimated because he’s the captain’s kid. 

2) Theo is the only one who knows how smart Stiles really is. He’s also the only person on board Stiles really doesn’t want to see because he broke his heart.

3) Something goes hella wrong and they wake up years away from their destination. There’s an organism on board who’s supposed to be smuggled to earth but it broke free. 

4) Stiles’ dad gets hurt, and as second in command, he’s now in charge. Nobody listens to him until Stiles manages to kill the thing that ate a lot of people. 

5) Fun fact, it wasn’t just one alien but a family of them. Stiles killed the dad. Mommy Alien is not happy about it. 

Steo The Witcher AU.

I have only watched the first three episodes of the show, and I don’t know shit about the games because I found them boring af when I tried them way back when. (I’m inclined to give them a second chance though, because I kinda really enjoy the show. But I’ll do that after I don’t have 7 other games glaring at me from my shelf)

But, I have a few ideas anyway. 

1) Theo is a witcher. Charming, irresistible, kind of a dick but highly skilled and with fair prices, so he’s treated okay(ish). 

2) Stiles is a sorcerer who ran away from wherever he was trained because he didn’t like that they were basically sold to some horny old man or woman. 

3) They meet at a bar where Stiles worked at to get more money for his travels. Theo is the first witcher he’s ever met. He grabs his savings and pays Theo to get him as far away (probably out of the country). 

4) Little does he know, Theo was also paid to bring Stiles back to the academy. He doesn’t realise it at first because Stiles doesn’t exactly act like a dangerous sorcerer who’s not in control yet - that is until Stiles wakes up from a nightmare and accidentally sets a forest on fire. 

5) Theo doesn’t keep it a secret, and he doesn’t even consider bringing Stiles back to the academy and pretends it’s because Stiles paid him more money (the academy paid him four times the sum Stiles gave to him). They are bickering constantly, shove each other around but when someone threatens them, they are a unit (because they are totally in love but too stubborn to say it out loud).
