It's so sad people get away from bsd because of negativity inside the fandom, there is a real issue with this. Not everyone needs to complain about some characters or send death threats to studio Bones (please don't) in order to be a part of it. Just like you don't need to talk to everyone and share their very same ideas to exist as yourself.

That's fine if you like some weird ship that nobody talks about. That's fine if you prefer the anime or the manga. That's fine if you don't like angst (or fluff on the opposite) like some other people. That's fine if your favorite character is Kaji. That's fine if you don't want to call your favs "pathetic". That's fine if you don't like something that everyone likes and vice-versa. And that's perfectly fine if you're not as viscerally passionate about it as some others are. Bsd is still (at least to me) an amazing story with a lot of very interesting characters but if you're not that attracted to it, that's okay. Not everyone share the same interests after all.

As long as you're enjoying what you are doing or seeing, it is all that matters.

Okay but imagine Ango. Realising that time isn't stopping, and now Dazai is well, and truly alone. Seeing Dazai's heartbeat, fall into extreme highs and then lows. Tracing them out, knowing that you know one thing that Dazai doesn't, and that is that he is human.

Imagine thinking of the boy shouting about how infuriating his partner was over expensive whisky that he didn't even like. Imagine him realising Chuuya was here, and the double beat of his heart. Taking note of that, because maybe you'll have the chance to tease him, when this nightmare is over and the two of you have something other than a ghost between you.

The beat going faster and faster, louder and louder. 'Pain' you think. 'Oxygen deprivation'. 'Injury'.

It goes silent.

'Death'

You don't even have time to mourn.

I know the 'Dazai can control his heartbeat' is stupid and makes no sense (I don't care, it's fun and suits the character) but thank God I can't do it because I would instantly try to make my heart beat the the tune of the Macarena and instantly die of arrhythmia

Imagine seeing the person you despise most in the world and think they're genuinely the most awful, selfish and horrible being you've ever seen abandon their career for their loved one... and then see the person you love most in the world and think they're genuinely the kindest, most selfless and wonderful being you've ever known not do that for you.
