WELCOME TO LAST LIFE RAMBLES:

i had a headcanon that c!grian's wings were clipped/damaged in all the smps he's in and "using an elytra" was like a robotic prosthetic. in last life he can't gain it and maybe the reason why LL!grian wasn't immediately worried about falling was he usually had his wings to rely on for when he falls, until he did get knocked back by the arrow, until he realised that he cant fly anymore and he doesn't have enough time to try to save himself now.
