Update: Red vs Blue Survey
In honor of pride month, we have decided to extend the deadline of this rainbow colored survey until the end of june
jk (kinda) we are mainly just trying to give people more time to watch restoration before filling it out/try to wait until we can get a better sample size As of writing this, we have 122 responses, which is a bit lower than my target goal of 164, which was the amount of responses received the first go around with the older, less organized, version of this survey The new deadline will be june 30th, at 11:59pm EST! i said this in the tags of a previous reblog but i need non-rvbs to understand just how terrible the shutdown of RT is.
this is not just a case of a group of fandom weirdos being overdramatically sad about rvb or AH ending, this is a group of people angrily trying to hold onto something ephemeral that shouldnt be ephemeral.
the RT site will be wiped out of existence on the 15th of may. yes, okay, there is a logical argument that if it's losing that much money then it should go down. but it's not just the site. RT have said there's no guarantees that even the youtube accounts will remain by next year. there's a lot of content that isnt on the youtube channels now. there's even more content that was never on the youtube channels.
to people who arent into rvb, or any of RT's content, this should be a warning. this can happen to any media.
this is why media preservation is important. make backups of the stuff you love. make backups of the stuff you dont love. make backups of the stuff you hate. its important to somebody, and its important to society.
media is a reflection of people's thoughts, their hopes, their dreams. to stand and watch media be irreversibly removed because it is deemed "unworthy" is to go against the concept of media creation itself.
yes a lot of RT content is shadowed by the company's underlying toxic culture, but you cannot argue that this company and the content they made is responsible for so many great things.
this isnt a fandom thing. this is a media preservation thing.

He was born? Created? He's really unsure about the details, near a Selûne temple, and was raised by the monks and clerics there! Eventually Selûne blessed Eun, my durge, with healing powers, whether its because she was unaware of her heritage or in spite of it Eun doesn't know. HOWEVER he lost the powers when he embraced his nature and only got them back when his memories were lost, giving him a second chance [hence why he's level one]
He was fairly single, maybe had one off flings in taverns, but not really anything substantial. [Is AroAce spec and didnt really Notice]
His perseverance. He'll keep his friends alive despite his urges. He'll get through this okay. It's pretty accurate
His urges. He knows it can ruin everything for him, his relationships, his abilities, his goals. He's right.
He respects Selûne, but doesn't truly hate a god [other than his dad]. Eun knows that Sharrans can exist, and respects their existence despite them being "evil" solely, because it's needed in the way of life. Why would there be a need for the Moon if there was no darkness in night?

Yes and No. He can recall Selûnite rituals and as he says them he pauses, trying to remember when He did it himself. He wouldnt recognise his Aunties and Uncles [the Selûnites that raised him] if you put a weapon to his throat. He just has weird deja vu constantly and Eun hates it.
Too quiet. Despite being a wood elf himself, he never really likes the wilderness. He hesitates at every meadow. He doesn't know why.
Cities feel like home. He likes the noise and likes seeing people live their life happily. There's some yearning in seeing people's peaceful life but... he likes it.
Eun doesn't eat the tadpoles [sorry this is how i describe it in my brain] and solely because "THERE'S TOO MUCH GOING ON IN MY BRAIN I DONT NEED MORE" However he collects them and keeps them as like Weird Pets
He's a life domain cleric, his hands were built to nuture and heal, not This. He's used to blood, but not by his own hands. Not Anymore. He hates how it makes him feel and he hates putting those he's meant to take care of in danger.
It makes Eun feel wrong. Like somethings itching under his skin. He doesn't talk about it much. However when it's... reclaimed in a way by his friends [like astarion calling him "bhaal-babe" or karlach calling him "old bhaalspawn] he doesn't mind it. It makes him feel normal.

He sees loves purpose. Platonic, Familial, Romantic, the in-between, he appreciates it. Usually from a distance, but on a rare chance, he gets to get it first hand.
Yeah!! Starting with the romantic, Astarion. They're both AroAce Spec and they both are... tentative. It's delicate, especially after the Alfira incident. Though Eun is so attached to Astarion after he helps through the night where.. Well. He Tried To Kill Astarion Before He Even Got To Confess. However what they have is real. They have their boundaries and they set em together. They get to be free in the end, and they're free together. They get a hairless cat together named Billy-Bob [because they let Karlach name it]. SPEAKING of Karlach, Eun and Karlach are besties. They find ways to send letters even while Wyll and Karlach are in Avernus. I heart Them.
Open with friends, Closed off with anyone else. He doesn't want the stigma, and since his friends don't really care much about stigmas he's appreciative.

He has a weird.. Love/Resentment relationship. Something about him makes his skin crawl however he has the familiarity of seeing your parent after college [using a modern metaphor lolz]. Unless it doesn't then-" Taking orders in combats fine, outside of combat he's kinda abrasive unless it's a situation where the orders are needed.
Oh he's running around like a stressed doctor would be, but other than that he's great under pressure! He keeps his team alive, he keeps innocents alive, he even tries to keep damages to a space to a minimum. Even Though Gale Won't Because He Fucking Threw Fireball AGAIN-

He retires with Astarion, however he's always prepared for another Bhaalspawn. He researches and hopes he can find them first so he can save them, so there won't be another him or Orin.

Anyone have a near panic attack after realizing they accidentally brought every companion with a Big Baddy Agenda to the Big Baddy get-together? BECAUSE I SURE DID.
Sure-maybe the game made it look like they were all level-headed and making rational decisions, but offscreen? Preeetty sure Greygold was the only person keeping those knuckleheads from blowing their cover.

I'm starting to see AI art in fanart tags and even when they are tagged as AI art, people in the reblogs tagged it as fanart.
Let me just say this once. I don't believe AI art is fanart. The way things are, it's theft. It doesn't count. The effort that fan artists put into their works cannot be equated in value with whatever an AI generates. The works with hours of applied skill and originality and love put into them are the works I want to praise on this blog.
So that being said, if I ever reblog "fanart" that is ai generated, please send me a message or an ask and let me know so I can delete it off my blog.
