cleaning rafe up after he either beat someone’s ass, or shot someone, either way he came to you covered in blood that isn’t his.

at 12:03 am you got an unexpected text message from rafe. “omw.” you didn’t know why, it was unusual for him to randomly come over so late but you didn’t question it. you knew something was wrong.

later at 12:35 am he arrived at your place, walking in and pacing around your room, his words stumbling and clearly he was distressed. you noticed the blood on his hands and painted on his shirt but you got up from your bed and asked him “rafe, shh it’s okay. calm down. what happened?” he stopped pacing and looked down at you. “shit. I didn’t mean to. he made me do it.” you looked at him concerned. “rafe. what happened? explain please.”

he took a deep breath and said “he said he was gonna do shit to you.. like fucked up shit, so I beat his ass. he might be dead though.” by now you grabbed a towel that you found lying somewhere and started wiping the blood off of his face.

“it’s okay baby. It’ll all be fine.” you told him, pulling him into the shower with you.

with his messy hair and black uniform polo serving drinks at your favourite little bar by the beach. he always seems to be joking around with every customer, loud and unbothered and it made you admire him, wishing to be as confident.

you’re always giggly when you approach the bar, your friends always sending you up there to get the drinks because of your little crush. he likes you for sure, always greeting you like “hows my favourite customer?” leaning his elbows on the bar with a smirk when you come up bc he knows it’ll fluster you !!

because of your crush, you and the girls are there every weekend, chatting over the bar to him on quieter nights and watching him work from afar on busier nights.

you alwaaays say you’re gonna make a move, with the encouragement of your friends — but always end up taking one too many courage shots before you get the chance, stumbling out at the end of the night singing out a sweet “byeee jj!” as you pass his station. he always chuckles to himself, wiping down the bar. he thinks it’s sweet.

there was definitely a time he had to cut you off, your mood seeming different and more upset when you enter the bar one weekend. he wasn’t sure what had happened to you, the blonde watching from afar as your friend comforts a tearful you over drinks until you’re practically blacked out, jj leaving his spot from behind the bar to come over and slide your glass onto his tray.

“hey, i uh— think you’ve had enough, don’t you, princess?” he tries to keep it lighthearted, as he’d hate for you to be embarrassed over this. he’d been there, he really had.

you sniffle, letting him wrap a respectful arm around you to help you up, your friend collecting your belongings on the seat as he slowly walks you towards the exit.

“this is— so humiliating.” you hiccup, barely able to keep your head up as he gently drags you along.

“nah, you’re good. we’ve all been there. infact, i’ve been worse.” he shrugs it off, handing you over to your friend as the uber pulls up. “you make sure she gets in safe alright?” he calls to her as you dump yourself into the backseat. the driver immediately winds your window down, worried you might puke on the journey and jj leans down, resting his elbows on your window. “you gonna be alright, honey?”

“mhm.” you rasp and he smiles, backing up, watching the car drive away.

the next time you see him you’re all apologetic and he’s not having any of it, having being counting down the days til he could see you !! just ugh being all giddy n crushing on eachother !!!
