There you were, just in the kitchen of your parent's old apartment. It was nice of them to give you it while you were doing further post secondry study.

Sure, Addison Apartment's weren't the nicest place. But this old building is very dear to you, afterall this is where you met the love of your life and most of your current friends.

As you were reaching for some food to put in to the pot, your eyes fall upon the picture frame. It was of you and Sal. It was a old picture, but it was a nice one. It was of prom, Sal was your prom date. He went despite not wanting to go.

You couldn't hear much, due to music playing while you cooked. But the second you turned around, you saw Sal. But, something wasn't quite right.

❛ Sal? ❜

Your hands grabbed the counter behind you. It's not that you didn't trust him, you trusted your partner with all your life. But something didn't quite seem the same. It was his eyes.

❛ What are you doing? Are you okay? ❜

Your voice had wavered. You weren't okay. How could you possibly be okay in this scenario? Larry was dead, Sal wasn't acting like he usually did.

❛ I'm sorry. ❜

Those were the only words that graced his lips. The only words he's spoken this whole interaction.

He looked down. Not wanting to face your gaze. He pulled out a bloodied knife from his sweater. Who's blood was it? You didn't know. But your heart beat heightened at him coming closer while brandishing the knife.

You screamed, pushing off the counter and running off to seek shelter in your apartment. To call for help.

A simple stroke, that's all it took. One simple stroke could ruin and muddy the colours he's already painted. He dipped his brush back into the water to remove the colour off the bristles.

A soft knocking could be heard on his bedroom door. It was some how heard over the Sanity's Fall being played in the background. Only Larry would paint a peacefull landscape with Sanity's Fall blaring.

With his approval, the person at his door entered. It was you. One of his closest friends, the one that got his heart to do flips. You were right by his side from the moment you entered his room, overlooking his work from his shoulder. Literally.

❛ Is this Addison Apartment's in autumn? ❜

Your voice rang through Larry's ears, making him loose all thought. More so from your proximity alone.

❛ Yeah, with all the leaves and shit. ❜

He gestured to his work. Truthfully, Addison Apartment's isn't a pretty or attractive building. It looked more like a run down shack in the middle of flat grassy terrain, connecting to the rest of the town by a long footpath.

It was Larry's artistic interpretation. Changing the pine looking trees to ones that actually shed auburn and crimson leaves.

That off comment left your lips, reaching into your backpack and pulling out a McDonald's brown bag. It was crumpled, but it still smelt fresh and good.

Larry placed his watercolour paintbrush back into his cup of water. Taking the brown bag and pulling out the burger.
